And in my personal opinion, the netcode it fine (True story, I've played people in Brazil with less lag than some people in Sweden)

In my experience PC online is much better, but I imagine it might be different depending on where you live (player numbers per platform).

There's a lot of players at around 2k to 3k points. Finding someone higher is rare. At least in Europe.
In other news, I hit 2500 Player Point today, and I'm pretty damn happy about it. Next stop, 3000 =d

Well, after Popi beating Infiltration (which is no small feat regardless of the circumstances), I think Street Fighter got a bit more hyped in Sweden. Not only did DH sponsor him to go to Evo, they gave him a whole website as well And just as I suspected, SSF4AE / USF4 will be a part of the next season of the Swedish E-Sport Championships.
Sorry if I keep coming back to this tournament, but I think it's really good and the matches (Not only in SF, but also in the other games) has been really really good overall.
Now, who's the next Swede that will makes us lose our minds?

Great news, lucky swedes .

The prize money is pretty decent as well at 4k~ $ for first place, at least for a fighting tournament and specially considering the opposition.

There's a good Honda player with a German flag playing ranked often in Europe. Khalim, with 3k7 PP and 15k PP, pretty good player. I cannot for the live of me win against this guy. It's frustrating me like I've never been frustrated before.
I need to find that Option select against wake up sumo splash. I know it exists, it's killing me to die to that. Sometimes I even block the first hit but get hit by the second one. Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh.

Great news, lucky swedes . Well, it's a DreamHack-project, so it's not like those running it have no idea of what they are doing.
The sad thing is that one of the casters won't return for the next season, and pretty much everyone loved him during the previous one.
___ Does anyone have any recommendation for good Keyboards (preferably SteelSeries*) to play the game with. I need better hardware to play the game with (currently using my laptops keyboard haha), but I'm so comfortable with playing with keyboard that transitioning to Stick would be a bad move for me.
*Because they sponsor my favorite Dota2 team as well as the Swedish E-sport championships

Madcatz will be holding another special exhibition sets at this years Tokyo Game Show on September 20, 2013. The matches for SF4 AE 2012 are:
Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 • MCZ|Daigo vs. Infiltration (first to 10) • WW|Ryan Hart vs. Bonchan (first to 5) • DM|Xian vs. Kazunoko (first to 5) • MCZ|Mago vs. RZR|Fuudo (first to 5) • MCZ|Tokido vs. EG|Justin Wong (first to 5)
What are your guys predictions?
I'm going with
Daigo Bonchan Xian Fuudo Justin
That Daigo vs infiltration ft10! Lets go Daigo, it's gonna be close I think. I just really hope Infiltration doesn't just run through him as he's been doing lately.
|
I wonder if Infiltration will go Akuma all the way. It's like, 90% probable he will, but you never know
|
Daigo and Justin both overperformed at Evo because that's what they do, but they're generally not the best bets for random money matches. Justin hasn't been practicing SF4 at all because he's waiting for Ultra. It's possible that Daigo will be highly motivated for this match though, hard to say.
Ryan Hart is really good at the Sagat mirror, I think that one will be pretty close.
Xian/Fuudo/Tokido pretty clear favorites I'd say.
I'm looking most forward to Xian vs Kazunoko, that one's going to be wild. I'm not the biggest fan of watching shotos and mirror matches all day (especially Fei mirror, lol).
Edit: I just realized this is in Japan, so there's no money on the line. In that case, anything goes.

Infiltration, Ryan Hart, Kazunoko, Mago, Tokido.

aka HAKAN.

PSA: Infiltration's Hakan is bad. Like, legitimately, unironically, objectively bad. I can't imagine what a player like that would bring to Hakan if he actually invested the time in developing him further. He has so much untapped potential (dash normal canceling, jump-canceled throw-invincible SPDs) and new tech that's being discovered even now (kara LP SPD that makes his grab range even longer than Zangief). He's really complicated but that hasn't stopped a lot of players from mastering a character, like every Viper player for example.

Everyone agree about Infiltration's Hakan being very basic. It's Infi own skills at the fundamentals of the game that allow him to win so much when using him.
Well, that and the fact that most players have no idea how to play against Hakan.

Rog pls.
I always will remember when Infil brought out Hakan vs Snafoo and stand jab him to death lol.

Does anyone play this on PC and have issues with people who use some sort of lag hacks? I've played two people who conveniently lagged right as I was about to win.
I played this guy named "Seimitsu Ninja" three times, and right as the round is about to end in my favour the lag gets so bad that I can't do anything (practically). The funny thing is I still beat him the first time, then the other two times I just lost connection to him. I Googled him afterwards and a few people have complained about him lmao.
Anyway anyone from North America play the PC version? I'm looking for people to play against.

I haven't experienced anything like this on PC (Europe, pretty low level). When my games has been laggy, they have been so for the entire match or spiked at "regular intervals"

There are quite a few lag "hacks" that people use from time to time (though not very often), for example the 0.5x speed hack (which is pretty OP for fireball/SRK characters) or the lag-spike-on-command which you described.
Dont think there is anything that doesn't affect both players though...
Also, on a side note, if anyone wants to play some games (EU) send me a message
