Yeah, i really wish miami would get someone who can play the point at an amazing level, but maybe that's asking too much lol.
Can someone explain why bosh was defending dirk at the end though? I think it would have been best if lebron guarded him but I guess in the end it really doesnt matter.. dirk's one of those guys that can make shots with two people on him sighh.
And what do you guys think about the 2-3-2 setup for the games in determining where its played? I can't quite seem to figure out which team it favors. I feel like we've discussed this before in the past but i forget haha

I was once again at the game watching party in the AAC. The crowd was never really out of it even when we were down by 15. We just kept on believing. And those last few minutes were magical. Everything went right for the Mavs. The whole place was absolutely crazy after that win. It was like a riot out in the streets.
I gotta say, celebrating a Mavs win with 10,000 other people is just an incredible experience.

Yea thats the thing: having a point guard run the offense when they free ball it would do wonders. Thats the gift and the curse of Mario Chalmers though.
Bosh actually does an ok job on Dirk, But yea like you said - doesn't matter. The guy is just a damn machine.
The 2-3-2 setup is best for the road team. Just winning 1 game is a huge boon as with THREE home games in a row, the other team has to win TWO to feel safe. You going to their place up 3-2 for 2 games is monstrous. Look at Boston-LA last year where Kendrick Perkins injury aside, LA played a VERY HARD fought 2 games to win the chip on their own home court.

Lebron and the heat got arrogant, thus the result. Not really sure what the debate is all about.

I feel like we've discussed this before in the past but i forget haha If you split the first two games then the middle home game set team has a significant advantage in my eyes. Realistically, you can say that the home team will win 2 of the 3 in their house. That gives them a 3-2 advantage going back on the road. Elimination games are a whole different animal, regardless of home court advantage.

Watching ESPN, Stu Scott said an interesting statistic. Since 1985, when they implemented the 2-3-2, eleven times has the series started 1-1 and in all 11, the team to win the third game won the series. Just food for thought.
Luckily for the Heat they haven't lost two in a row so far this playoff series, so they still have that going for them. Heat need to treat that Sunday game like an elimination game. I believe they will.

the amount of bad 3s that lebron and wade put up at the end was ridiculous

Dirk Nowitzki is just too fucking good.
Stojakovic chose not to show up again and the Mavs still managed to win, despite almost choking the game away with all those turnovers.
Holy.
WTB Dirk Nowitzki for Bulls, will trade 1 Carlos Boozer

Why do people want the heat to have a "real" point guard? Why take the ball out of Wade/Lebron's hands? Sure, if you got an elite PG that would be great for your team, but Miami can't get a CP3 level PG without some real luck. Given that they aren't going to get an elite talent Chalmers is fine as a backup to give you an option to bring up the ball when needed. Miami should get a shooters, or someone who is great at defending the point so Lebron and Wade don't have to work hard defending Rose/Westbrook in the future.
They need a shotblocker more than a quality PG. Haslem is a decent enforcer, they need a retarded tall guy though, like Asik.

Dirk is perfect for late-game situations. He can get a shot off against anybody because of his incredible range, height and funky fadeaway, combined with his ability to put the ball on the floor. He shoots FTs as well as anyone can, so you don't have to worry about him getting fouled. He rarely turns the ball over, and he's tall enough to see over help defenders to pass to open teammates.
Incredible comeback by the Mavs. Like I've said, this is going to be a great series, and I'm really looking forward to the rest of it.

Well cLutZ you see the thing is the Heat need to get CP3 at a bargain price and then Pat Riley needs to use necromancy to bring Kareem Abdul-Jabbar back from the dead as an immortal robot scion of the Necrontyr and then the Heat have a finished roster // every time a Heat fan suggests that they need anything that isn't a 7 footer to protect the paint I cry a little inside.

lol
btw, i dont think Heat need a PG cuz there're only a few PG that can truly command Wade&James .as good as Chalmers is he isnt the guy who can command the duo-star and its better to leave the ball in either of their hands

I left my friend's house(where everyone was cheering for Heat except me) when they were up 13-15,and before i got home i received about 3 messages saying FU for leaving. Then i found out why..

I realize everyone's going to credit Dirk for this win, but the player of the game for the Mavs was Shawn Marion, and a close second, Tyson Chandler.
Except for that last burst in the 4th, Shawn Marion was the only one who was consistently making/creating quality shots. And kudos to him and shame on Lebron for letting that happen. Chandler was really battling for the boards, and the +10 offensive rebounds really hurt the Mavs game 1.
Second, criticizing Dirk's defense isn't groundbreaking, but how many Dwayne Wade dunks off turnovers were passively watched by Dirk? Wade wasn't even making his free throws this game. Dirk only started scoring in the 4th when Miami inexplicably decided to stop bodying him up on his attempts (and the refs were allowing a ton of contact for both sides all game). The 3, the Mavs got a good pick on his defender to free up space for Dirk. The 2, well he got around Bosh. When that wasn't happening, his fallaway jumper was clanging more than it hit.
The Miami offense, they had like 10 turnovers->fastbreak dunks, which pretty much explained the lead. When they didn't get the turnovers, and when Wade couldn't get to the line, their offense shriveled up. Miami's failure in the comeback wasn't its offense, it was its defense.

bibby played good so did mario chamblers it was just bad execution in the end they just got 2 cocky but this game had some sick highlights lol that put back by lebron was so beast.

I don't know too much about basketball, but golly, that comeback by the Mavericks was amazing. And from watching highlights, I'd say that the Heats just kind of loosesned up after getting the 15 point lead (or 13? not too sure). They got comfortable because of their lead, and Dallas capitalized on it.
Whatever it was, this is going to be one exciting season.

Oh and Jason Kidd cannot guard Dwayne Wade, even though Wade didn't score with Kidd on him later on. Wade loves to just go around you, and Kidd doesn't have that sort of quickness to keep up. I'd rather have JJ Barea (???) on him, since that worked against super quick guards like Tony Parker. Wade can try to abuse it by just shooting over Barea, but kind of like Fisher vs Ray Allen, that's actually not a bad way to pick your poison.
And Bosh was Sasha Vujacic'd by Dirk.

Dirk is such a freakin' clutch closer it is not even funny. Right now, the way he plays in the 4th has Champion written all over it.
