MKD was sad times. Then I got my LMG, and I could actually kill people who came to me. Then I got discs, and I could kill multiple people at the same time quite reliably. Together with watching the flagstand explode in numbers, this makes for one hell of an experience. I am on my way through Quick Draw/Safety Third now, and it's so damn fun. Although it's probably the most XP heavy role to unlock, it's such a refreshing change from... everything else. I'm still not sure if jugg or raider has the best longevity/shelling power balance, but I do feel a lot more useful as jugg. If I have to clean out the stand as raider I usually end up sacrificing my life, and getting that one timing right in a pub is pretty much impossible. I'm glad the plasma nerf came so fast, the game is so very fun(when balanced.. :p)

http://www.reddit.com/r/Tribes/comments ... ight_0430/ *TLDR: Contest of randomizing people viewing my channel and following my channel @ www.twitch.tv/AnarchyAo *The winner will receive a fresh, newly created T:A account with $150 worth of Tribes Gold unlocks paid for (all unlocks, skins and bundles currently available within the game). *You do not necessarily have to be at your computer at the time of the contest so long as you are both following my stream prior to the contest start time and you are logged into twitch.tv chat and viewing my channel page (If you aren't then your name won't show up in the list of viewers in the chat, this is the list I use to pull the winner from). Intro- I'll be holding a contest and the winner will receive a fully unlocked Tribes: Ascend account that has had $150 worth of purchased Tribes Gold that was spent on all of the unlocks, skins and bundles currently available within the game. The account is rank 1 and has never entered a single game. No promotional codes have been redeemed on this account. Aside from having all unlocks, skins and bundles purchased the account is a blank slate. And don't worry, there's enough Tribes Gold on the account to allow for a name change. The contest will happen like this: 1) I log into twitch.tv and view my channel page at www.twitch.tv/AnarchyAo and copy the entire list of viewers shown that are currently logged into the chat and viewing my stream. 2) I'll paste this list into: http://www.random.org/lists/ and randomize it. This will spit out a long list where each viewer of my stream is assigned a number. 3) Then I'll go to http://www.random.org/ and specify a range of 1 - whatever the final numbered person is in the list of viewers I previously randomized. Whatever number it spits out, the person in the randomized list that is assigned this number will be the winner. 4) I will check this person's twitch page to ensure they are currently following my channel, and if they are following my channel then they will be ultimate tribal ascend winner account winner. Here's what you'll need to do this: 1) Register an account at www.twitch.tv and log in. 2) Visit my channel page at www.twitch.tv/AnarchyAo and click the blue "Follow" button above the video player with a picture of the beautiful man with cornrows. 3) When the contest begins at 7:00pm EST then you must be following my channel and be logged into twitch.tv and viewing my channel so that you show up in the chat's viewer list. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update on this...HiRez limits the amount of gold/transactions you can make in a 24hr period, because of this I was unable to unlock two items on the account: ![]() These are the only two items on the account that will not be unlocked. Sorry about the trouble. Also the value of the account is much higher than originally posted. $230 has been spent to unlock everything on this account except the two above mentioned items. If you have friends, friends of friends then you may want to let them know about the contest tonight. Anyone can participate, new and old players alike. It's 9:55am EST right now, so the contest begins in about 9 hours. Good luck to everyone. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update #2. The account also has 209 days of boost. Screenshots of account: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10376041/contestaccount1.png http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10376041/contestaccount2.png

I've become a pretty decent sniper (after a warm-up game or two before I'm decent again), but to get there you just have to practice, and learn to anticipate their movements. If you want to hit really far away targets, what I did was to just shoot, reload and repeat until I hit. Then I got the hang of it, and now it's easier to hit far away targets. Though, the best thing to do when sniping far away targets is to chase them as best you can, and get up on a hill or something. Also experiment with mouse sensitivity, what works for SLD/PTH etc might not be optimal for SEN. Of course, sniping 300+ targets on Temple is fucking impossible.

Keep in mind that your position affects the difficulty of your shots, so you have to balance a high perch with terrible angles vs a decent spot with an easy shot. You might want to watch a few VODs of comp matches and see the different sniper's spots to give you an idea. If you are just starting out I would recommend you spend some time in tdm instead of ctf to get used to shooting people at different angles/speeds faster. If you practice your aim don't worry so much about the ''charge'' of your shot just shoot everyone you see and your hands will get a feel for what hits and what misses.

Doesn't work on a server with good enemies though as they will usually shoot the stand before caps and someone will pressure you off the tower top because it's just too exposed. But if you are still on a low enough level, that works fine. Next time you roll raindance, maybe give it a try ![]()

The jackal is still a stupidly ridiculous weapon (constant 1500 burst damage on a stealth class - lol), and plasma was only nerfed to the point that terribad's can't score free kills with it. If you're halfway decent it's still just as much of a rapecannon as it was before as the DPS and projectile speed remain unchanged.

Do you want HiRez to release crap weapons and charge money for them? As a light armored class that's supposed to fight indoors you need good burst out of stealth in order to be able to kill anything before you get taken down. Neither the jackal nor the plasma gun seem really imbalanced to me, and I've seen way more people complain about chainguns and/or thumpers (post nerf). People cry about thumpers since beta actually. Or, to use a different example, while I as a Sentinel would make the class look completely useless, other people are able to make players ragequit because they never seem to miss..
