Granted, there are some pretty amazing areas in skyrim, but the majority of them are very linear and have that nagging copy paste feeling. Been to one bandit cave/dwarven steampunk area/undead viking dude crypt seen em all. Had to hunt down the far and few between gems. I just got a new Videocard and can now run Skyrim with RealVIsion ENB on Max Details in 60fps. Its just fucking beautiful with alle the mods. I played 188hrs and have not even seen everything. @DA2 Story is not even that bad. The problem is the fucking terrible gameplay, the copy'n'pasted zones all in one city and the bad characters. It only had like 15month development time and was dumbed down for Console-Casuals-. I just got done modding mine + Show Spoiler + but after I was done I realised no matter how good it looks it's still Skyrim and it still feels flat and empty and unfulfilling. I've done that twice now.
Spend a couple hours modding it to kingdom come, only play for maybe 5 hours.

It is basically TvZ but both teams have a single RTS player, the rest are fps guys.
One side is focused on squad tactics with ranged weapons. The zerg like guys are focused on melee, ambush tactics.
Very fun, high skill cap. It has an initial learning curve but its definently a game worth getting into if you're interested in a less casual competitive fps.
I suggest it to, but I hate playing the game. Love the concept Love how the game truly emphasizes team-work, it seriously is important Love the community as very communicative, accommodating and mature; so mature.
I can't enjoy it for very long though

I read otherwise. Heared the community is kinda ignorant and aggresive towards newbies. Still bought the game because i loved NS1. I also recommend the TA series on gog.com. http://www.gog.com/promo/gem_promo_total_annihilation_series_stacking_0212 Check out the great TA mods on tauniverse aswell.

It actually suffers from a similar problem. When your team is doing poorly, it makes the game a lot harder for you individually.
In something like CounterStrike you can always just headshot someone. If enemies get fed in a moba or your team completely botches the game in NS2 its like trying to fight a brick wall made out of snowballs.
That and small veteran elite communities tend to be elitist. Look no further than BW for an a better example of that.

Got lunar flight with money i got from selling my steam cards, it's kind of fun with the occulus rift but I wouldn't really recommend it otherwise. The UI is extremely good for virtual reality though, and the immersion is great, if you have a rift definitely go for it.

Tomb Raider is well worht the money. It also has an interesting story of how Lara became tomb raider. QTEs aren't bad at all, but that's maybe because I buy games mostly for story.
This autumn sale is pretty disappointing to say the least. I couldn't find a single game interesting enough to buy, let's see how the last day passes

Jup, so it really is the best version of AOE2 out there for less than what I spent on traveling expenses today XD.

I don't know anything about the NS2 community, but "not worse then the average dota/lol pub" is NOT a good community. It is actually a pretty horrible community.

I think tomb raider is one of the shittiest games I ever played. It's mostly like watching a really shitty movie that you get to interact with sometimes. That's basically how boring, repetitive, straightforward, easy and linear the actual game play is.
From what I've been told though that's pretty standard for this generation of AAA games. Pretty sad.

Well, here's a list of everything I bought over the Black Friday weekend.
From Steam:
System Shock 2 - 2.49
I'm a massive fan of Bioshock and have been wanting to play System Shock 2 for some time now. Steam made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
On another topic: The new DLC for Infinite is nothing more than a cash grab.
Gemini Rue - 2.49
I've had my eye on Gemini Rue since 2011, maybe 2010. I'm finding it difficult to describe: I suppose adventure-side-scroller-shooter-puzzle-noir game will suffice? With heavy emphasis on the noir suffix in particular.
Ctbulhu Saves the World / Breath of Death VII: The Beginning - 98 cents
Final Fantasy style RPGs that are very well written, and very funny. Combat mechanics seem solid, and you don't have to fight random monsters after a certain amount per area (though you can still initiate them if you want afterwards).
Shadowgrounds - 49 cents
Isometric shooter with a very creepy atmosphere (not to mention soundtrack), and lots and lots of upgradeable guns. Between this and Shadowgrounds: Survivor (priced at 1.39 atm), this is the better deal, and you basically get the same game. Really excited about this one.
Cost for these five games: ~6.50
I think I made out well with Steam. I did have the opportunity to buy some of the bigger, more expensive titles (like Skyrim, etc.), but I figured there are certain things I'm going to buy regardless, and that I should use sales opportunities to get things I may otherwise have never gotten (like Gemini Rue, which retails for 9.99, and I don't want to spend 9.99 on Gemini Rue). I tried to keep my purchases at 3 dollars or less, because I'm not made out of money. Over all, I'm really excited about everything I got, and can't wait till I finish building my computer at the end of this month.
From GoG.com:
Commandos 2 / Commandos 3 - 2.99
I watched a Let's Play of Commandos 2 and decided I needed these games in my life. Hell, the art direction alone is worth the price of admission. To my understanding, you're handed a bunch of dudes with various skills and are expected to lead them through a series of missions. The gameplay seems really deep, with aforementioned dudes going underwater to disarm mines, crawling onto the beachhead while avoiding the sentry's line of site, snipping the barbed wire, knocking a German dude out and stealing his uniform, and sneaking into a heavily fortified base. That's a brief description of the beginning of one mission that I saw.
Celtic Kings: Rage of War - 1.49
This was an impulse buy (and, coincidentally, the first purchase I made out of this entire list), and the only game I'm really iffy on. From what I can gather it's an RTS that has a decent adventure mode. Really vague, but I guess I'll get my hands on it eventually.
Cost of these three games: ~4.50
I was a little disappointed in GoG. While they had a wide selection of discounted games to choose from (including Escape from Butcher Bay), most of them were just...meh. Like, who discounts Rollercoaster Tycoon? What world do we live in where Rollercoaster Tycoon needs to be discounted?
From the Humble Store / Weekly Sale:
(It should be noted that this particular weekly sale is long gone, but I'm including it here because this is basically the "what I bought for myself for Christmas out of pure selfishness list")
Bitcomposer Weekly Deal - 6.00
Included: Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers, Galaxy on Fire 2: Full HD, Thunder Wolves and Jagged Alliance: Classics (which in itself includes at least three games, as I know of)
Bonus Games: Expeditions: Conquistadors, and Jagged Alliance: Crossfire.
Cost of these eight games - 6.00
Expeditions: Conquistadors is the reason I bought this bundle (the six dollars is what unlocked the bonus content...yes, I'm THAT guy). It's a tactical rpg / adventure game where you explore the new world with a party of conquistadors. It's pretty awesome! Besides that, the Humble Store wasn't offering anything too good at too low a price, so I mostly gave it a pass.
In total, I bought 16 games for roughly 17 dollars (more like 16 and some change). It's kind of crazy when I put it down on paper like that. I'm not prone to splurges, unless the price is right. XD

Ctbulhu Saves the World / Breath of Death VII: The Beginning - 98 cents
If you liked those two, you should also have a look at Penny Arcade OTRPOD (or whatever) 3&4. They are made by the same company, follow pretty much the same style, and are more or less an obvious evolution. Basically, look at the changes between BoD VII and CStW, and extrapolate from there. I find it amazing how much this retro look can actually evolve and look better from game to game, and they pretty much improve on the gameplay with each iteration too. I am a giant fan of those games and would greatly recommend them, Zeboyd is one of the few companies from which i am currently buying all their stuff on day 1.

My assumption was that by combining that with Requiem or SkyRe+combat mods and shit like RND/Frostfall I could make it more immersive and by then adding lots of companion mods/custom locations/questmods I can fix the "lol Bethesda sucks at quests"-part.
Too bad it gets really unstable for me really quickly. If only the log files wouldn't suck donkeyballs this would be a lot easier.

Quite a good bundle. I bought it minutes after an email alerted me of the new bundle.
