Weekly Cup Competitions
Week of November 17 - 23

The week's cup competitions gave us a perfect split of winners per faction, with Solar, MaxPax, and Clem all claiming a single victory. Also, SC:Evo cup competition resumed play, allowing Solar to claim an unorthodox double.

November 17: WardiTV Mondays #61

WardiTV Mondays featured a stronger Zerg presence than we're used to seeing in the weeklies, with both Solar and Reynor making deep runs. In the end,
Solar took the cup home for Zerg with a 3-0 sweep over herO in the finals. As usual, early-game offense was a big part of Solar's success, but he also showed that he doesn't always lose games where he's forced to make Lurkers by taking a more drawn-out victory on Old Republic as well (VOD). *****
November 17: Monday Night Weeklies #30

The first 80% of Monday Night Weeklies was ByuN putting on a TvP show, as he went through ART, MaNa, Clem, and then MaxPax to reach the finals from the winners side of the bracket. Unfortunately for ByuN, MaxPax came back from the losers bracket and was out for blood in the grand finals.
While ByuN had won the initial series against
MaxPax thanks to two-base pushes, he could barely get anything to work in the rematch. Besides a single map loss against proxy-Barracks Marauders, MaxPax thoroughly dominated ByuN at all phases of the game, winning 3-1 and 2-0 in the two-leg finals to take the cup title (VOD). *****
November 14: PiGosaur Cup #58

Clem refused to end the week winless, managing to take a close 3-2 victory over herO in the finals of the PiGosaur Cup. Clem's mighty late-game TvP was on display in game five, where he once again looked unstoppable upon assembling his Ghost-Liberator death army (VOD).*****
November 22: StarCraft Evolution League #16

The third season of StarCraft Evolution Complete (BW vs SC2 mod) competition kicked off with weekly cup #16, which saw TaeJa and Solar collide in the finals. As is often the case in SC:Evo competitions, the best SC2 player to sign up ended up winning as
Solar took a 3-1 victory over TaeJa (VOD).
