I only got two games out of this series and I like them very much.
Papers, Please is perhaps one of my favourites.

The amount of games i bought with Sales and Humble Bunbles in the last year or so has to be around 50 at the very least . And tons of them i haven't even touched yet.
|
I've purchased about 15 games this year (normally I don't buy games but once every few months or less) and now I suddenly have gotten the urge to read book, rofl.
105 hours or so into Don't Starve, and I've enjoyed what I've played in Bastion, Outlast, Torchlight I and II, Alan Wake, and the smattering of other games I've picked up and installed so far. But yeah... it's game overload for me right now. Damn you, steam sales...
|
Only bought Skyrim and FEZ, but that's more than enough for me.
|
Skyrim on its own is pretty fucking sweet. So many good mods.
|
TimENT, save Terreria for the holidays and play it with some friends! Now might be a good time to pick up extra codes, but it will probably be on sale again.

Maka a Games 2 Play category in Steam and work your way through. I know its hard if you play Games like SC2, BF4, Civ5 and FIFA/NBA alot. But I got through alot of Games in my list in the Summer.

Guys, I have some nice Steam coupons for indie games if anyone is interested. I can trade them for whatever uncommon items for DotA2 (crafting shit).
What I have:
LIMBO -50% (save 4.99) Conquest of Elysium 3 -50% (save 4.99) Trine 2 -50% (save 8.49) Aerena -75% (save 5.99) Hamilton's Great Adventure -90% (save 8.99)
They're only valid until 17th of December this year so grab them if you want them

Agreed. Don't play Terraria alone. It is bad. Play it with friends. It is amazing.

The Game has just the best Mod-Community ever. Sick, sick Price/Hour ratio. :>

Natural Selection 2 is right now on the humble bundle.
I highly recommend getting it, even if its to try it out later.

Fallout 2 was not on his list. And I bought FO2 this summer-sale I think and well, its hard to play if you played Fallout3 and New Vegas. The compat/movement system is just so ancient. They should do a "HD-Remake" with Fallout 4 Graphics.

Fallout 2
It kind of depends what games you've played, if you haven't played similar games sure in 2013 it does seem ancient, maybe because it came in 1998. If you've only played SC2 and similar RTS:s, you're going to find BW ancient. But Fallout 2 is still the better game in many aspects, but they're not even in the same genre.

Wow those are definitely some nice screenshots! What mods have you loaded up to achieve those results?

One of the main problems with this stuff is that very often, it is only the better game in memory. Or it might actually be the better game, but if you play it today, it is still not a lot of fun. Despite what some people might want to think, a lot has improved in the last 15 years in gaming. Graphics is one thing, but there a lot of very simple convenience things in gameplay which evolved too.
One example for this would be stuff like inventory management. I kind of recently dug up X-Com 1, and due to nostalgia managed to deal with the graphics over time. But the inventory management in that game is simply and obviously just BAD in comparison to modern standards. You have to reequip your troops every mission through a ridiculous puzzle of moving stuff in and out of tabbed inventories on the bottom. You can not view your troops stats in this stage, so you have to know which of your troops should have which guns/psystuff/etc by name alone. Not to mention that there are pretty much no tooltips to speak of. I still managed to finish a game and have fun, but it is amazing how much stuff your memory simply forgets about games. It also has this tendency to make them look a lot better then you remember. Don't believe me? Take a look at a screenshot from the original Deus Ex. Memory says: Pretty much photorealistic, everything looked amazing, cool stuff everywhere. Now take a look at a screenshot.
There are some old games you can still play today, usually due to mods and some sort of engine that is still kind of working well. One of those examples would be Baldurs Gate/2, simple because you can increase the resolution really easily to modern monitors. And there are games that even if you were able to get them to work on a modern system still wouldn't be fun nowadays, simply because it is very hard to enjoy a game in 640:480 or worse on a modern monitor.
In my opinion, all but a few of the best and best aging old games are best left to memory, because there they are a lot better. And even of those, only a few are attractive to a player who hasn't played them back in the day.

Was thinking of buying NS2, garrys mod n Orcs must die 2 during the steam sale for a total of $15 but then decide nah.. i got TW2 n dishonored.
Then humble bundle comes in with 3 of those games in for $4.....
The temptation sure is hard,, now i probably understand why people have like 200+ games on their steam account

More than half my games come of bundles like these. With some of them i don't think about it. This bunble cost me not even 3€ for some pretty good games ( with more added later ) thats basically a no-brainer.
And now with a Hearthstone Beta-Key playing the games i haven't touched yet will probably have to wait even longer.
