And like all RockStar Games - the PC port is complete horse-shit! (30fps lock included)

I guess there are worse ways to spend 4$ - but I doubt its fun for most people. And like all RockStar Games - the PC port is complete horse-shit! (30fps lock included) I see, thanks for your input. Just out of curiosity, how many games do you own on steam? Are they all mostly purchased during the sales?

AFAIK i think this is a point & click adventure rather than a GTA shoot to win style type. I know just as many people who love LA Noire as who don't, so your milage may vary on the advice above. And yes, it's a far cry from GTA, you got it right. For how cheap it is, if you think it's something you may enjoy, I'd say go for it and try it out. The worst that could happen is you don't like it and you're out a few bucks, so unless you're on a strict budget, I think it'd be worth a shot.

Or it might actually be the better game, but if you play it today, it is still not a lot of fun. Despite what some people might want to think, a lot has improved in the last 15 years in gaming. Graphics is one thing, but there a lot of very simple convenience things in gameplay which evolved too. One example for this would be stuff like inventory management. I kind of recently dug up X-Com 1, and due to nostalgia managed to deal with the graphics over time. But the inventory management in that game is simply and obviously just BAD in comparison to modern standards. You have to reequip your troops every mission through a ridiculous puzzle of moving stuff in and out of tabbed inventories on the bottom. You can not view your troops stats in this stage, so you have to know which of your troops should have which guns/psystuff/etc by name alone. Not to mention that there are pretty much no tooltips to speak of. I still managed to finish a game and have fun, but it is amazing how much stuff your memory simply forgets about games. It also has this tendency to make them look a lot better then you remember. Don't believe me? Take a look at a screenshot from the original Deus Ex. Memory says: Pretty much photorealistic, everything looked amazing, cool stuff everywhere. Now take a look at a screenshot. There are some old games you can still play today, usually due to mods and some sort of engine that is still kind of working well. One of those examples would be Baldurs Gate/2, simple because you can increase the resolution really easily to modern monitors. And there are games that even if you were able to get them to work on a modern system still wouldn't be fun nowadays, simply because it is very hard to enjoy a game in 640:480 or worse on a modern monitor. In my opinion, all but a few of the best and best aging old games are best left to memory, because there they are a lot better. And even of those, only a few are attractive to a player who hasn't played them back in the day. Haha it's true, I replayed Deus Ex, people's faces are ugly (I forgot that) and the game was much better in my head than in reality after playing Deus Ex HR (the game is good but interface/graphics/gameplay was really much better in my souvenir) I played Deus Ex on release day and finished it in the same weekend (we were on a broodwar lan with friends and ended up all playing deus ex in solo :D), I loved the game and it's still awesome but yes, your post is pretty much true =)

Such a great promo. Two of my favorite games of all time. I already own them on Steam; have my FO2 disc, but I'll link them to my GOG account because why not?

I wouldn't really have payed more since it's not really that satisfying as a game (no challenge, low action) but it's still decent. My casual gamer girlfriend really liked it though and is one of the very few games she played through so that's worth noting.

Nice, I've wanted to play through the original Fallouts for quite a while. Can't beat free..
