Was OK, the gameplay was excellent, but the story was stock, voice acting was iffy, and the powers felt like cheating a lot of the time.
I did forget the worst problem: It gives you 950 interesting ways to kill people, then punishes you for doing it.

They are all so freaking short! I realize that the amount of resources devoted to 3d and stuff really takes up a lot of cost but its ridiculous have short these games are compared to something like Baldurs Gate. It's short because they tried to pack a lot in and try and encourage repeat playthroughs, perhaps focusing on different skills/approaches/difficulties/personal restrictions (like no blink, no killing etc), as well as tons of world building stuff. There were two things I really didn't like about dishonoured that made the game feel a bit 'meh'. First is that Corvo is just way too strong. Blink + dagger is enough to make the game simple on any difficulty, even on hardest difficulty there's health and mana potions everywhere and the world is littered with really easy ways for corvo to sidestep/murder/escape everyone. Game got pretty hard when the silent blinking assassins showed up and I enjoyed the levels with them since they don't play fair which is good since neither does corvo. Secondly level exploration to find solutions to problems didn't feel very organic. It's a similar issue I had with Duex Ex Human Revolution, when you market your game about having all these multiple solutions it just means "find a ladder or a vent. There's always a ladder or a vent because this is how they designed their game just keep looking around until you see it". With blink it's worse. And this sucked because the designers crafted a lot of ways to get through obstacles, they crammed a lot into the game. I'm sure you could apply restrictions to yourself about these sorts of things but I hate doing that. I'd rather the game do that for me under the assumption the designers had balanced it properly for me.

I'd rather the game do that for me under the assumption the designers had balanced it properly for me. I took my sweet time with Dishonored and had a real blast with some of the kill combos/abilities (simultaneous crossbow headshots with slow time and then blinking away to observe the carnage never got old), was one of the few first-person single player games that I've bothered to finish since Portal 2. Corvo being so strong is really the only downside, and while I do enjoy a challenge I don't mind the occasional almost-god-mode experience.

You kids have no taste. ff7 is an old game that didnt age too well. its great but nowadays not exactly what i would recommend people that arent already really into ff. witcher games are just meh. guess if you can look past the horrible mechanics and pointless running around the storytelling is quite good in witcher 2. but i can totally understand people not liking it. bought it like 14 months ago in a sale and still havent even played through more then 30% cause of its flaws.

On top of what the guy above you said, the best ending is only possible if you knock out everyone. Even the blinking assassins. And I agree, powers are too OP. Blink is broken. Time warp is even more broken. I think on my playthrough I had 1 actual sword fight. Which is too bad, because the actual world seemed interesting and it would have been nice to explore it. They re-use the same map for 2 missions and it felt lame to re-sneak into the exact same spot twice.

Not much from me, I played only Portal 2, enjoyed it and it's definetely both a clever game and well made but it was very very short (around 5h) and after that I didn't feel the need to play more of it. Definitely play it at a low price imo.

Plus portal is fun because of everything around the puzzles aswell. You cant stretch something like that for 30 hours and expect it to be as good. Its the perfect length for the type of game imo.

I don't care how many people have replied to this already and said practically the same thing. If there's just one game you ever need to play, it's Portal. Portal 2 just follows naturally. It's different and more streamlined, but also much better in some ways. Portal basically made game designers realize that you can just go "fuck physics" and think outside the box when making a game. And so we have countless games with really awesome concepts these days. For some reason, it did not make game designers also realize that good writing is an integral part of every game. And so we still have countless games with really awful writing.
