I'm not really sure FDA is a "lightweight" armour but it provides more GDR than MDA I think, and the rf++ is much better than napalm immunity. Do you have some way to deal with the rc-? How's your EV in either armour? | ||

My initial thought is FDA is good but find something that gives you rC+ if you can. With some points in armour you'll be able to hit 30 AC 30 EV which is what you want. If you're down in vaults the anti-magic weapon should be good, and it deals more damage anyways. Crate probably knows better than I do though. | ||

Vamp glaive is better than antimagic bardiche for general use but you should 100% carry the antimagic bardiche around also because when it's better it's much better and you should have it around so you can swap. | ||

What I'd be concerned about pressing into endgame is your lack of resists. Since you're pure melee, you've basically got no shot with just rF+ and rC+. I usually use lategame acquirements on jewelry for this reason and the high % of a randart, however, you should check your identified items to make sure you don't have a bunch of unID'ed crap jewelry, or else it will weigh towards those. I honestly don't think you need a teleport wand very badly, scrolls are so common and you don't have a way to control teleport. Requesting jewelry can give you conservation and solve the consumable problem too. If you're switching to TSO, best way is clear Vaults and Zot (or at least Z:4), then switch and get your piety up in Crypt, and move on to Pan or whatever you plan on doing. | ||

(well I guess you might want rC++ and rElec for Lom. Potions of resistance exist.) Anyway I would suggest hitting things while using tactics because you don't need any more items or xp if you play smart enough. ps stop training t&d it's an awful skill pps please put your dumps in code tags so they are readable Also jewellery acquirement is pretty terrible on average ... i would definitely choose wand but I guess jewellery is not awful for your character. | ||

Couldn't disagree more, jewelry definitely gives more frequent and more useful randarts than armor. It's nearly always a randart if you have most everything ID'ed. Armor also has a much bigger chance of being something that you just straight up can't or won't use. I know we're comparing to wand here but jewelry is definitely not terrible "on average". lol'ed a bit at the comment about the dump being unreadable. There's nothing unreadable about it. | ||

Anyway I just went to wizmode, identified every piece of jewellery, and then acquired jewellery 24 times. The best item I got was either a non-randart amulet of faith (well, ok, my character already had one so I guess this is not good), a +5 ring of evasion, or a +4,+5 ring of slaying. I got 6 randarts total and they were all basically useless (the best is a stat-boosting rC ring). Jewellery acquirement is usually not very useful unless you are a felid. Armour acquirement also gives a lot of junk but I did 24 armour acquirements (at 14 armour skill) and got at least 11 items that are probably better than what my character already had. Best was a +10 artefact plate with other stuff, or +2 rC gloves, or a +2 acc+6 helmet. This is much better than 1/24 items being better than what I had. (Disclaimer: a reasonable portion of those 11 were shields, but I think if I had more weapon skill I would get fewer shields since I am pretty sure that acquirement takes that into account; I had 14 long blades/0 shields when I did this.) Weapon acquirement is hard to judge in wizmode because the real benefit of it is that you almost always use it when the basetype you want is one you haven't seen yet, so I can't just do 24 acquirements in a row and look through them to get an idea of what it normally gives. Nevertheless I did 24 weapon acquirements from 14 long blades skill; I got 4 non-artefact triple swords, Doom Knight, 2 demon blades, a double sword of slicing, a -4,+6 artefact double sword of pain, and then some trash. Realistically this would be more slanted toward triple swords, double swords, and demon blades unless you've ID'd them all, but in that case you're not looking to acquire weapon anyway. Too lazy to test wand right now, it is by far the most likely to give you an item that is useful, though the ceiling is obviously lower as well. | ||

so cleared v8 now,got 3rd rune and am lvl 27. tried slime but the royal jelly always retreated behind his spawns when low and fighting 10+ acid blobs and azures is not cool. gave up after burning through 4-5 permafood and quite some piety. guess fast weapons are bad against him anyways so my 0.2 delay doesnt help.. now go for more runes? clear zot first? do abyss rune or pan first? | ||

You never have to kill Lom, especially if you have apportation. He likes wasting time doing things that aren't dangerous, like casting blink or cbl. This character can probably kill him anyway. edit: I'm assuming you have a ring of protection from fire (or a ring of fire) somewhere when I say you can kill Cerebov. Gloorx is more dangerous than either Cerebov or Lom for this character, by a sizable margin. | ||

did zot till 2 then the constant burning and shattering and annoyed me. went to drop oka for tso and did crypt. now entered abyss where im wandering around. is it worth making a lajatang holy and ecnhanting it? my speed lajatang is at +8 currently. also found another acq scroll and used it once for jewelry,once for wand. gave me a amulet of rage (gotta be like the only thing i havent id yet...) and a 2nd heal wand so meh. /edit got the rune. dont think i took more then 20-30 dmg overall while i was down there. lost1dex cause i forgot to put on rmut, gained scrolls,pots and think even gained food. considering running a bit more around to get more stuff... | ||
