Also, I don't know why people are so hung-up on resistances. Even in extended rF+ is the only one you must have, in my experience anyway -- though I must admit that rC+ is extremely convenient in Cocytus. Just pop a resist potion if you have to, but you should be able to kill almost all enemies quickly enough that resistances wont come into play much. This doesn't really apply if you're playing a mummy of course, but people tend to overrate resistances way too often imo I didn't mean for that to turn into a rant, sorry :/ I'm off to play on my DsWz now~~ I have yet to ascend a demonspawn, even though I've gotten about 2 or 3 into extended QQ edit: oh snap I didn't realize that crate on TL is actually that crate. with help from an angel and with some more aptitudes/gear i could burn him down this time. guy dead, cleared rest and looted vaults.but def the hardest fight in a long time. tonsa books, nothing really useful but could finally loot a randart hat i got gifted the first time i was down at the jelly king,+5 for even more ac ~ so pretty much only pan left. quite sure ill die in hell/tombs. still by far the furthest ive ever gotten. anything special i should know about pandemonium? | ||

If you have enchant scrolls left I would make a second lajatang into a holy lajatang, but I would not overwrite your speed one with holy. With a minotaur in particular I'm not sure how much/if holy is actually better than speed (speed gives you 7/4 as many headbutts, and they do significant damage), and of course holy doesn't work on everything whereas speed does. I would suggest just trying both lajatangs and using whichever one feels stronger. TehRei is correct about resistances. Walking around in pan with no pips of resistance is completely fine, I've done it a few times, you just need to be willing to swap in rings when you need them. Similarly walking around geh/tar/dis without resists is fine (cocytus you probably want rC+ at all times though since there's just so much cold damage in the branch, and rC++ makes it really hard to die there to most things). | ||

blessed a old +2 venom latajang and pumped my remaining scrolls into it. plus ran around in abyss for a while where i found 2-3 more. its now 7/6. also did like 10 pan levels. the normal ones arent too hard and the first one had the random rune already(or is that normal?). can 1-3 shot almost evrything including some of the rnd panlords.only thing that hurts is torment(obv) and hellfire. just now got into the first unique panlvl and met cerebov. first time the fight went for a bit,had to kill some adds and tried to resummon angels which was stupid. teleported out for safety when i was at ~50%hp. next go i ignored angels and chucked a might potion, he was dead when i just lost 80hp. had rf++ btw. also while his vaults were mostly filled with crap it also had a cloak of preservation.finally. have 7 runes now. so gloorx is the one to watch out for? and how long will oka continue to summon shit next to me? | ||

Gloorx is dangerous because he's twice as fast as you are, and he has miasma (which can slow you) and torment and poison arrow. However he is very bad at killing summons, so if you summon a few A's to help you kill him he should die just fine. | ||

first after cerebov was the eye guy. got surrounded by summons and got slightly mutated cause i had to wear stasis. but could pummel my way through. plus cleansing flame is quite nice when there is lotsa stuff around you. then lom, could isolate him and his spells werent much of an issue with relec+ and rc++. finally gloorx, could pull all other mosnters away so i fought him 2v1. he tormented just once and outside of that casted alot of drainbolt which didnt do much. so he died rather easy. hooray! got into a sticky stituation in the next panlvl cause suddenly a huge gang including alord and 3 tormenting demons showed up, without blinkscroll it wouldve been quite sticky. so should i try hells? im quite scared of that weird random effect. same goes for for tombs, torment is one of the 2 things i still fear.or just do zot, dont die and be happy about my first 10runer a week after my first 3rune win? dump: + Show Spoiler + Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup version 0.11.0-9-gb634444 (webtiles) character file. | ||

Tomb is a lot harder, you could definitely die there. It's possible of course, but if the win means a lot to you, I'd probably give up at 14 runes and then tackle Tomb with a mage so you know what to expect later. | ||

--- Tomb is actually really easy if you know what you're doing ... there's basically no danger of dying if you're a decent melee character and you play it smartly. If you don't play smart things can go very wrong very fast. It's much harder with a conjurer-type than with a melee character imo (unless you have necromutation). | ||

Yeah it's very easy with lichform though, and I'd assume any mage at that point would have lichform or Kiku protection. It's also pretty easy on something like a DDEE since Shatter ruins lives. | ||

not sure if i wanna continue or maybe run around abyss or so to maybe find cure mut. what do you mean by that crate. ofc i never even entered tomb but the thought of multiple greater mummies isnt nice given that the only fights where i dropped low in quite some time where like that cause of torment. | ||

I haven't seriously gone for any of the hell runes since back in 0.9 were I had some very bad times there. I think they've made the hell effects a bit more forgiving since then (paralyze when I'm surrounded by 3 iron trolls and at <20% HP, really?) but I imagine they're still the biggest threat down there. HUGE congrats on getting all the pan runes btw! :D Sounds like you're doing fantastic so far -- and you actually managed to kill Cerebov! I've ninja'd his rune once, but never managed to kill the bugger. I also think that pan would be a better place if you're looking to stock up on cure mut potions. At the very least it will be less of a bore than abyss... GL! -- TehRei | ||

GL! -- TehRei thx man! its a really cool expirience finally seeing evrything of the game. esp after i saw zot the first time just a week ago. :> did some more abyss and like 20 lvls of pan but no cure mut. positive sideffect my lajatang is +9 and i got haste at 10%. cleared entire zot ,tried a bit of tomb (so stressful... not used to running away from 1 enemy..) but not having flight at that point i got blocked by a zot trap. now decided to do cocytus which was the easiest hell branch so far also got again glow but only caught -10%mp which is totally irrelevant. so now at 13 runes. fire hell and tombs missing. considering trying tombs first so that if i catch a bad mutation in last hell branch i could still do 15 runes. still really scared of tomb but ill see how it goes, if its too hard ill go for 13 or 14 runes | ||
