I have a couple of questions:
1. Does intelligence affect pyromancy? Does anything?
2. If someone invades my game and kills me, do I lose all of my souls? (I have been playing offline so far)
3. Basically, can anyone give me some tips about playing online as I'm going to plug in for the first time today.

1. Dunno I'm melee only
2. You lose your souls/humanity the same way you do when you die to a mob. Just walk over and pick it back up. Obviously the only thing you can't get back is the 1 humanity you spent to go in human form.
3. Online isn't much different from offline, aside from the signs and seeing the occasional person/bloodstain. Just watch for trollsigns on the ground. If you're in hollow form you cannot be invaded/summon other people to help you. You can however be summoned to help others if you decide to leave your soapstone on the ground.

When I reached there, some NPC was hinting he wants to kill the firekeeper, so i killed him and took his humanity and item. Was that the correct method? Oh and I heard Blighttown has tons of poison stuff, should I get anything in particular to avoid that?
All you need to know about Lautrec here. I like how you're ask after you killed him, lol?
You should switch your armor to ones that have the highest poison resist. You WILL get poisoned, but you want the damage to be minimal. You literally just walk around poisoned in the swamp.
Purple Moss Clumps/Blooming Purple Moss Clumps will cure poison, but no point in curing yourself every 5 seconds.

Infernal_dream covered your other questions, but no, Intelligence does not affect Pyromancy. Details: Here and here.

lol yeah, so the fire keeper can't talk at all now right? Anyhow so, I entered Blighttown and fought my way down a few stairs but there frikken things keep poisoning me. I managed to get the full red robe/armor thing. It seems to have high poison resistance, would that help?

The Fire Keeper never talks. Unless you went the regular route and help regain her soul, she'll tell you she doesn't want to talk and leave her be.
You're getting shot by mobs shooting toxic (different from poison) blow darts at you, you have to kill them. Those guys don't respawn.

Awesome, thanks a ton fishball :D. Just curious, I know levels don't matter as much in Dark Souls but I am now lvl 46. Is that more or less where its supposed to be relative to where I am. And whats the minimum recommended level before facing the final boss?

Thanks for the answers. So humanity has two uses in this game, correct? One is to change into human form and the other is to kindle bonfires, which gives you more estis flasks when you rest at that particular bonfire? Also, what is the advantage of invading and/or helping in someone else's game?

Humanity also increases resistances and drop rate while you have it (eg, not consumed)
Helping people gains humanity if you kill boss, plus you get half the souls they get for every kill
Invading gets humanity if you kill target as well as souls

My Warrior was in his late 30's when he finished Blight Town. On average, I'd say around Soul Level 70-80 for your first play through. It really varies.

36 is good for blight town...I got through it around 32 without a lot of issues. Just have some items that can cure toxic and itll make life a LOT easier. Valley of drakes is too early for you...not much to do there at that point in the game.

You should be working your way down towards the Swamp from Blighttown. I think you just might be missing some ladders or white fogs.

I think the squid just guards some treasure...the way down is to the right of the area the squid thing is in. Its a pain in the ass to find the proper ladders in that place. U kinda just have to keep exploring till u find the right ladders down or watch a vid. Its not really possible to explain the exact path. At the end of blight u ring the second bell which opens another area so the answer to ur first question is yes.

2. no, if you collect your body you get your souls and humanity back, but you are dead and if you want to be human you will need to use another reverse, using a humanity.
3. stay outa the forest :D otherwise if you've sinned you may meet the other end of my spear :D

I didn't do sif till late 50s, he is brutal if you can't get under him fast enough.
after blight town I would head to + Show Spoiler +sen's fortress, after that anor londo - while in anor londo i like to do the painting once you finish those 3 places, you're pretty much free to clean up everything. pinwheel, moth boss, all sorts of stuff. the beauty of it all though is tons and tons of extra areas with tons of awesome experience/loot that isn't main stuff
you can also poke your head into + Show Spoiler + and grab gold hemmed. a lot of people look down on doing this a little early on - it's the first light weight armor. and they say to "suicide" into the boss... pssh, that boss is easy sauce, i killed him around 36 just playing smart and not even using the cliff trick - which is a scripted event and not a glitch :D

Upgrade your pyro flame to boost pyromancy spell damage. You can upgrade your pyro flame to +15, the ascend it and upgrade that to +5. Intelligence does not appear to affect pyromancy, although it does make your pyro flame R2 melee attack do more damage.

in blighttown i went through the white fog close to the red squid, and went down to the swamp but couldn't see a way through as i just constantly got poisoned in any bit i walked into

I'm pretty sure getting poisoned is unavoidable once you reach the ground. It takes your health very very slowly so just keep an eye on it but don't worry about it too much. Follow the wall on the right, kill a couple of fire bugs and you'll soon find a well-deserved bonefire.

Sheesh the Queenlag was easy as shit o.o, I also made it through and got to the Ceaseless discharge boss and killed it using the super easy method. I got that armor suit he was guarding, it seems to have pretty great stats, even though I'm a knight it beats out every other armor I have. I will be heading to Undead Asylum now!
