I hope they release any new content as DLC for the consoles, too :-( Would hate to miss out on more DS goodness -- the best part is facing a boss for the first time, thinking on your feet, then thinking on the back of your dead body when you weren't quick enough to figure things out >.> Just thinking about this is making me want to play through again -- only got halfway through NG+ on my first char.

I'm fighting the Iron Boar thing in the Undead Burg, and I'm in quite the pickle. I somehow missed 3 of the lure things because I can't into aiming, and I died so now the boar is full HP and with no conceivable way to take him down. I've concocted a few plans: 1) Clear out zombies, go between pillars. Bait him to me, when he charges into the pillars and turns around, I walk out, slice his ass with my axe, roll back, rinse and repeat. 2) Stand behind one of the bonfires and try to bait him into it. This only works if he can't charge through the bonfires, and I don't know if that is true. Alternative option is to run circles around the bonfire under the bridge and hopefully he doesn't somehow charge my ass anyways. 3) Apparently my friend said if you jump down from the bridge on top of the ledge above the staircase down, the boar will bug out and run to the staircase and get stuck, and you jump down and air attack him, taking away like 50% of his health and then you somehow run back up and repeat, but I don't trust him. :| I got no firebombs, no bait. I'm a pyromancer so I got 8 fireballs, but they do negligible damage. Rocking super light armor so I can dodge around him if I must, but I've already tried and it's basically impossible. Final Destination.

Best way to kill the boar is to clear the area of hollow soldiers first. If you have a bow, it is easy to fire 1 arrow at each soldier to lure them to attack you one by one. Hard part for new players might be those 2 archers and spear guy after the stairs. Best way is kill them is to 2 hand a weapon, rush past the spear guy and cut those archers before they switch to swords. However, after all hollow soldiers are dead, jump down and face the boar. I advice you NOT to lock on to the boar. It will charge at you and you should be able to dodge it with a roll. IF you get hit, dont panic, the boar is quite slow and you should have enough time to use flask/get to safety. Your goal here is to get behind the boar to use the backstab attack. It doesn´t matter which weapon you have, it should die in 2-3 backstabs. I do suggest using a spear for maxium comical effect, though.

Can only use an axe right now D: And yeah, clearing the trash is no problem. It's dealing with the boar. I tried straight up fighting the boar, but he keeps wrecking my shit with that charge.

More tips (hopefully helpful) on ways you can do it, that I learned about on accident after starting a new character: + Show Spoiler + After you clear the hollow soldiers, run up to the boar and dodge his first charge, then get yourself in front of a fire and wait for him to charge you again, like you said, bait him into it. When you roll aside, he should charge right into the fire (either fire works) and it will damage him quite a bit. Rolling at the last second is the key to that strategy, and sometimes you have to change his direction to get him to go (have him come at you in a straight line to the fire, from say the doorway or the steps going up to the closed gate). The first time I fought him I lured him to the doorway, waited untill he turned around and backstabbed. The jumping idea might work... it works on just about everything that allows you to jump on top of it. The backstab strategy seems to be the most flawless. Also, YAY new bosses!

I just wish he stood closer to the bridge on his original position so I could start off with one ;_; I'm gonna try to bait him into the fires. Just seems far more badass.

![]() Anyways, what is recommended? I'm kind of caught between going full boss armor tanking shit, or sticking with my super light armor and just rolling all over the place and using faster weapons. I'll most likely do both at some point, but I want the best first experience :>

Item drop rates are increased if you have humanity. It will cap at 20 humanity. I would advise always to use as protective armor as possible, that still allows you to roll normally(you have to be below 50% of your max equip load). At some point you will find a ring that increases your equipment load by a lot, and it will be easier to wear better armor. Going for really heavy armor might work against normal enemies, but most bosses will still kill you fast if you cant dodge their attacks. There is only one boss I´d advise getting as fat as possible for. Biggest tip I can give, upgrade your weapon and shield. Especially your shield. Still something I missed, most light armor dont provide any "poise". The more poise you have, less likely you are going to get stunned when you get hit, so there´s one reason to wear more heavier armor. Even this can be fixed with a well hidden ring, that provides +40 poise when worn.

Upgrading your shield can't be emphasized enough. After much dying mid-roll (in heavy armor that was slowing me down), I learned that blocking can sometimes be an effective alternative to dodging attacks, because if I'm not mistaken, the higher a shield's Stability, the less Stamina is used per block. A good +10 shield, or another certain shield can let you block a variety of boss attacks without getting staggered/stunned right away. Ring info: + Show Spoiler +
