When it first starts, you gotta roll to a side to avoid his leap, from then on, what most people do, is lure the dogs all the way up the left stairs and kill them on top of the brick arch. This ranges from easily done, to hard, depending on how the dogs react. Its easy when they just run up and try to bite you, where you can just block/2 shot them. But it starts to eat up valuable time when they do that leap backwards whenever you try to attack, and by that time you are vulnerable to the capra's leap attack that he will try to hit you with as he has now caught up to you.
I always played heavy armor/stamina, so you will need to do some serious dodging if you use a light build. Otherwise, you need to just block hits on the fringe of his range while sneaking in a hit, and then back up and let your stamina regenerate while watching out for his leap attack.
good luck man

yeh that boss made me rage a lot too. basically what the guy above said, lure the dogs, kill them, profit. the capra demon itself is not actually that hard once you learn his moves - you can usually block his lighter swings and get a hit in and as long as you avoid the slow-to-wind-up hard two-handed jumping strike you'll be fine.

Capra demon is such a cheap boss. It's more or less beaten in 10 seconds because as soon as you get past it and up the stairs, you'll beat it easily if you concentrate. Just kill the dogs, then kill the demon by going up the steps, jumping down when he comes up, attack him when he's stunned from the jump, repeat. If it hadn't been for the microscopic scale of the room, it would have been such an easy boss.
|
Yeah beat it finally a few days ago. But I had to find out that the archway is not that safe, his jumping attack still hits you up there. But true, once you survive the first 10 secs of the fight without losing much health it's easy. I didn't find the boss himself that hard, the camera was the biggest pain in the ass to be true.

Along the same vein, Taurus demon would have been pretty much impossible (or at least VERY difficult) the first time, if they didn't give you that tower to jump down from.
I have always thought about a boss fight as a Terrain and natural difficulties that come with it as well. But yea, once you get rid of the dogs the boss himself isn't much.

People are not likely to upgrade their shields early when they play the game for the first time. With +5 Hollow soldier shield or a +5 Balder shield you can block everything Capra demon throws at you.

That, or it's just the style of play.
I always use Grass Crest Shield, i upgrade it asap after my weapon (i often use Uchigatana unless im using Claymore).
Plus dodging is more fun :p.

I use the grass crest shield and drake sword, using the elite knight/eastern armour at this stage in the game. On my first playthrough, really enjoying the challenge

Yea the first playthrough was really fun :D
It's still fun afterwards of course, but less so, since you already know most of the surprises.
Personally, i always keep my weight under 25% when i run thru the game. 50% w DW Grain Ring

For those who don't know, the official facebook wall for Dark Souls is teasing an announcement. More likes, the quicker they release the news.

Praise the sun if this is a PC release or DLC. In any case, this can't be bad news!

1. New Souls game in the works for late 2013 2. DLC 3. Hints as to what the pendant does 4. PC port
I'd be happy with any one of those, but I'd kill for all 4 =P

I hope its not a PC port. More money out of my wallet...

I want dlc!!!!!! SO BADLY!!!1

They were pretty adamant before release that there would be no DLC. I would love to have more to play though, so this is a case where I would actually like it if the devs lied about DLC before release haha.

It's basically confirmed for PC.

Maybe they're teasing a patch that will fix the terrible, terrible FPS issues the game has. I love the Souls games to death, but DkS suffers so much compared to DeS in terms of fps.
New Londo Ruins comes to mind, Blighttown comes to mind, anyplace with any fancy lighting (bottom of tomb of giants or even pinwheel boss area)
