You can't put it behind, it won't allow you. Just put it anywhere that it would allow you, in areas that you think people will be more likely to see your sign.

Yes, you lose souls and humanity, and you get sent back to your own world. You recover it the same way your normally do. Just go back to the spot you died.

Are you sure that curses stack in reducing your health? I never got cursed in the depths, but I died to Seeth's curse once, went back without curing, died to curse while already cursed, but just stayed at normal half health, not 25%.

Yes it does. Stacks up to 1/8th of your original health.

That was my point, though -- the curse from Seeth didn't stack, so it apparently depends on the mob? The note on the bottom of the wiki link says "On the xbox version, with the latest update, the curse from the frogs in The Great Hollow will not stack," which just leaves the frogs in the depths, I guess?

Hmm, that I'm not sure. I only got the curse from Seeth once, and was smart enough to not get it twice. The curse from the frogs in the Depths indeed stack, sources coming from a lot of players. The Great Hollow I'm not too sure, but I'd trust the wiki page.

HOW DO YOU KILL THE GARGOYLES. ITS VERY EASY UP UNTIL HALF HP THEN ANOTHER ONE COMES AND THEY START gangbanging you with flamethrowers while the other one is hitting you HARD. IF ANYTHING HITS ME I DIE 100%. I've seriously tried it over 50 times last 10 hours or something. It's fucking impossible. The gargoyle in the first game was also hard, but if you killed it fast you could fight them separate. Now, it's like two bosses raping you from different angles at the same time.

Playing as melee, what worked for me was to attack the first gargoyle's tail until it falls off -- that should give you a point of humanity after you die and respawn (seems odd, but it did for me, so should work unless it was patched). With the humanity you can revive, then summon the NPC knight right before the boss door to help you. That way you should be able to get a point of humanity every time so you can keep summoning the knight to help you. Once the second gargoyle comes down the knight should keep at least one of them busy enough to give you some room. Of course, you also have to be doing enough damage to kill them before the knight gets killed and they both get on you.

Do one of the following or combination: - Play a Mage. The entire fight lasted 30 seconds for me and I never even got hit. - Summon Solaire of Astora (NPC that gave you the white stone), and Knight Lautrec of Carim (NPC locked in the same church right before you fight the boss). - Apply Gold Pine Resin to your weapon. The Gargoyle(s) are weak to lightning. - Summon other players to help you.
Basically if you're using a regular weapon (as in not a Drake Sword or higher at this point), and refuse to do any of the points listed above and go in solo, unless you're godly with the controls, you're going to have a rough ride.

Wait, you can summon knights to help you? how exactly? and does it only work in human form?

On October 15 2011 05:37 Shauni wrote: Wait, you can summon knights to help you? how exactly? and does it only work in human form?
Yes, same as Demon Souls. You can summon players to help you only when you're in human form. Same for NPC's. I thought you already knew about this.
Here is a detailed guide. http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Bell Gargoyle

One thing that could help is to get the first one down until he's just barely above 50%, back and make sure you have full health/stamina, and go all out. You should be able to have him dead or very close by the time the 2nd one engages you because it takes a bit of time for the 2nd one to actually join in once the first hits 50% health.
Aside from that, run from one end of the chapel to the other. If one is breathing flames and the other is trying to melee you, you will separate them and give you an easy target. If they both melee you, you'll just have to dodge and take it, and if they both are breathing flames you'll either get a blindspot to hit them from or a chance to heal.

Why would I know this? Ive only been in human form for a matter of seconds at most lol. So when you're in human form you see some kind of signs before bosses that will make you be able to summon those knights? Did that exist in Demon's Souls too?
I mean obviously I knew about summoning other players and so forth, but had no idea about that.

I thought you didn't know you can summon players in general. You can't summon NPC's in Demon Souls. This is new for Dark Souls.
I personally google around and read those two main Dark Souls wiki sites, and have watched IGN 24 hours live stream before launch.
Whether you can summon NPC's for every boss or not, I'm not sure, so you'll have to check. But to answer your question, yes, you have to be in human form to summon anything in general.

I'm nearing the end of the Depths. How hard is the Gaping Dragon? Oh and I have the Drake's Sword for now, is there another really shield/Sword I should invest in getting anywhere close to where I am? Oh and I never got any magic except miracles, where do I get Pyro :/ ? I'm a Knight btw.

Gaping Dragon is shockingly easy, despite his rather unfriendly appearance.
