I think one of the necromancers in catacombs drops a Skull Lantern you can use to light the place up. I THINK thats how i got it. Either that or you pick it up somewhere in the Giants place itself.

Oh and I have the Drake's Sword for now, is there another really shield/Sword I should invest in getting anywhere close to where I am? Oh and I never got any magic except miracles, where do I get Pyro :/ ? I'm a Knight btw. Gaping Dragon is a cakewalk. FDS can last you a while longer. You can either start upgrading other stuff if you have enough titanite, upgrade the FDS with dragon scales, or try to get one of the weapons off the Black Knights. By now, you probably won't have enough strength for a lot of weapons better than the Drake sword by now. Personally, I used the Drake Sword up until I found the Lightning Spear in Sen's Fortress, and the Dragon Tooth in Anor Londo. The Dragon Tooth is pretty awesome for fights where you can go all out, but requires 50 strength (same as the axe you get for cutting Gaping Dragon's tail off); 360 base damage. I upgraded the Lightning Spear to +5 and I'm still using it near the end of the game. I never got a sword from the Black Knights, and I haven't farmed enough titanite to fully upgrade anything else, so it seems like that's one of the best things out there aside from rare drops. While we're on the topic though, I feel like there should be a better option out there than +5 Lightning Spear or Dragon Tooth. I likely won't go out of my way to get a new weapon before I finish the last couple bosses (Bed of Chaos, the bosses in Catacombs and Tomb of Giants, and the final boss), but for NG+ does anyone have any advice on what, if anything, I should focus on getting and upgrading, and where I should farm for the mats to upgrade it? Low dex, faith, int, 50 strength.

I used to think Gaping Dragon was the easiest (pretty long as well thanks to my sucky weapon) but then I visited good old Pinwheel on my newer cleric. Unlike the first time, because I bashed him to fuck with my occult club +1 it was easy to keep track of him and bash him some more Just killed Stray Demon on my newer character. Man, life is so much fucking easier when you aren't using blunt weapons...now to make a Lightning Uchi and get some pvp going every single time I've flown back to Firelink into the nest I ALWAYS walk straight off the edge... and now I just got gangbanged by the shitty zombies and lost dem souls ![]()

No one reads what I write ![]() Quick link: Pyromancy Flame Laurentius of the Great Swamp is the guy you're looking for. Basically if there is any in game information you want to look up, the two Dark Souls wiki sites would cover the majority of it.

Check out http://darksouls.wikidot.com/covenants. I first joined Warriors of Sunlight for the miracle Lightning Spear which is pretty awesome. Then I dabbled and went to Blade of the Darkmoon for some PvP action and TO HUNT DOWN THE GUILTY THE GUILTY SHALL PERISH

I don't think it's necessary to talk to him to have him "appear" in Firelink Shrine (although I don't understand the logic why you would not talk to him in the first place, lol), but I can't be sure. If you head towards the room filled with water in Firelink Shrine, he is on your immediately left, sitting on the floor, before you actually enter that room. Basically behind one of those broken walls near the bonfire. You can't miss him. If he isn't there, then I guess you'd need to go back and talk to him after all.

I kinda prefer not to read too much about it cause it removes some of the mysteries and discoveries. Man that gargoyle battle was too easy with the knights. I just went human, clicked both signs and stood and watched the battle. They totally did it on their own... I also mistakenly killed that merchant at borg, but apparently you got his key by killing him where a friendly sorcerer was trapped. Now, was that an important merchant in some way, could you resurrect him by talking to the priest?

so multiple people helped you? i thought there would only be one guy. yeah I know what you mean, sometimes i feel like i read too much cause it takes away a bit of the atmosphere, it is more tense when you dont know whats ahead of you, but then again it just irks me so much that I might do something wrong. As far as I know you cant bring anyone back from the dead, if you kill someone he stays dead. (except for all the enemies of course, lawl)

Make sure not to kill the NPC though, as he sells stuff. Tell him you're not a cleric. 2 bosses left in the game. I've been going around killing NPCs no longer useful to me just for fun at this point. And if it's patches I will kill him on sight.

However, just going to quote myself here. On October 14 2011 13:40 Fishball wrote: To those who just started the game (or everyone really), I thought I'd share this. There is a "best class" to start with, depending on your goal with stats. Some classes will achieve those goals faster than other classes. http://sites.google.com/site/darksoulstats/dark-souls-calculators/class-select Anyways, I just made a level 1 Bandit, since I'm so god damn lonely with my Mage and I just want to play with someone ![]() Go try and play with the calculator.
