Yes lol It's not the main attraction of the game but I find it interesting nevertheless.
I love the lack of story in this and Demons Souls. They just create a back story and an interesting world which beats having some lame story i have no interest in.
I am so much in love with this game!! I basically didn't have the slightest clue about the game, didn't get to see Demon's Souls before, so i was a complete amateur when i bought the Dark Souls on friday. First 2 hours i spent pretty much dying and cursing... And dying again, while frustrating a lot. But it took a while to attune to the right mindset for this game, and to learn the general basics in. Right now, i couldn't be more hooked!! The game is amazing and i can't stop exploring and grinding, in hope to get myself a bit better equipment! The day at work couldn't go any slower...

You mean in the building with the picture and the white-robed guys, right? Not the main / huge cathedral-type place? If you go to the opposite end from where you came in at first, there are some statues and a ledge that you can drop down to, then walk across that and drop down onto the level below the chest. Then you just follow the only path up a staircase to the chest. If I'm thinking of the right place, at least.
Yes, that's what I just did. I tried that a couple times 20 minutes ago but failed and fell to the bottom. I think I'm done for the day.

There should be a spot just before you go out where you can just walk off and drop down onto the ledge, there shouldn't really be any risk involved.
Can't go into words how good this game is, A game that when you've died 30+ times to a boss you still want to pick up the controller and go again. The feeling you get after you defeat a boss is one of the best, BUT Brighttown are you serious i can't wait to finish this place!!
Blight Town is definitely awful. It's nice how those toxin shooting enemies stay dead though. It's also kind of hilarious how just walking around will net you kills. Like for example, I walked next to a ledge and it aggro'd those 2 hellhound things and naturally they try to get to me but they only end up falling off a cliff and net me free souls.

I really think it should be but japanese games tend to never come out for the PC as Japan is primarily a console/arcade (maybe the last) oriented country.
Has this ever happened to anyone? So you've been trying to make progress on this zone for hours and after a particularly good, maybe a bit lucky, run, you finally reach a bonefire. Sweet merciful jesus finally! You hold back tears of joy as the words "You have lit the bonefire" appear in big yellow letters on the screen. So you decide to press on knowing that your imminent death will be almost without consequences because of that beautiful bonefire. As predicted you die soon after but this time with a smile on your face. Wait a minute. Why the hell am I back at the beginning? LIGHTING A BONEFIRE DOES NOTHING UNLESS YOU REST THERE!
Then you do the epic troy freakout from community but you replace "meeting Levar Burton" with "doing this goddam level again" and "Pierce" with "Dark Souls"
I'm really frikken depressed. I finally got money today to get the game and its sold out everywhere I went. I visited 10 frikken shops. T_________________________________________T
Man I'm gonna start a new character. I swear being a cleric helps you fuck all. I've spent the entire game whacking stuff with my morning star, my divine morning star and then into an obsidian morning star the damage is hardly that good.
Healing takes too fucking long to cast so I literally cannot use it in spots when I want to and I can't find any more miracles anywhere. I thought about getting the lightning bolt but fuck that, there are so few miracle spells compared to magic spells I don't see the point in the cleric. I mean jeez, at least give us magic shield instead of mages...
New character, mutha fuckin' wizard. A nimble son of a bitch that magics up his 2h weapon (to be decided) and stabs stuff.

I had that moment when I died in the sewers with 9000 souls, and then got turned around running back to my body and fell off a ledge where 3 of those curse breathing frogs were right behind me. -.-

Ok just a tip for you dark souls guys. If you happen to accidently hit a merchant or NPC, you can RESET their aggression towards you. You have to repent for your sins. SL * 2000 souls is the cost I believe.
Don't be like me and kill the dude though. That is bad juju and you'll never be able to get the NPC back peroid. DO NOT KILL THEM =P.

Nobody can help me.
I've only fought him as melee.
This fight is all about killing each king before the next one pop out so use the best armor you have and the highest 2hander you can use.
I killed them at soul level 53 and my gear setup was havel helm / chest with gold hemmed glove and pants. I used +4 dark knight's sword with the stamina regen crest and havel's ring + the abyss walking ring. If you can use the iron flesh spell this fight will be a lot easier as you can just tank all the damage while beating the crap out of them.
Most of them just do a simple vertical and horizonal slash which can be dodged easily. The homing missile they shoot should be just tanked if you have enough defence/hp.

Shit, my modem blew up right after you replied. Didn't have internet access at home for the past 36 hours and I'm in the office right now.
I found out about that later when I was walking back to the other side... sonuvabiatch. Originally, I thought the gap was too big to just "walk off the edge", so I resorted to backing up, charge, then jump through the gap between the columns, which ended up with my head banging into the columns instead then fall to the floor and die. I eventually succeeded through with a blinded-by-rage-super-focused-precision-jump.

I'm level 88 and I'm not at the Four Kings yet. Though the story tells you need to kill them to progress, there are still other stuff you can do first.

HEEEEEEEEEERE WE GO
Who the hell plays a pure Cleric ?
Anyways, my guy currently has 80 Int, 10 Endurance, and 23 Atonement, 10 Strength, 10 Vitality, 12 Dexterity, at level 88. Do not use 2 handers! Use a shield with a thrusting 1 hander, like rapiers etc.. Same like Demon Souls, you can hide behind your shield while attack at the same time, and these weapons attack very fast. A lot of the time in Demon Souls during PvP, people would try to close in on me, thinking since that I'm a Mage with low HP and assume that I have no melee combat capability, they're always the ones that pay the price. With Homing Soulmass and a decently upgraded weapon, you can tore them to shreds. - The Wolf boss is the coolest ever. - I'm in the Crystal Cave, and I want to stab myself. I've never died so much even to mobs.
