But yeah, Knight Solaire was useless. He helped a lot on the gargoyles, but did nothing here.
+ Show Spoiler +Hmm thats odd. It took me like 10 minutes to kill him and he never did anything. He just did that slow charge thing then let me melee him. It took so long since i was using some really shitty weapon since i realized right before the fight my drake sword was almost broken >,<

I've been thinking of getting this game because of its difficulty, but I need to know more. How many game hours are we looking at to complete the game? I guess it has replay value because of the different classes/covenants. But I want some more input xD. Anyone wants to do a little writing to convince me to buy it? Always wanted to play Demon Souls but that was for ps3 only. sadface.

+ Show Spoiler +Sometimes he doesn't do that poison spill shit but even if he does you just run far as hell away. I think the key for this fight is to be unencumbered (less than half your equip weight) so you can run like hell.

If you like difficult games this is basically a must buy. I'd say at least like 50 hours? And that's if you rush... I expect my first run through to be much longer than that probably 80 hours or more because I'm a completionist.

50 hours on a rush ok nice. thats quite some hours. Getting sick of games these days with so low amount of gametime in them. Im a bit of a completionist aswell - I think I will just get the game then its been alluring me so much xD.

I'm currently 62 hours in with still a fair bit to go. At least four more areas + the final boss, plus another optional boss -- that's what I know of, at least. I've been pretty thorough, though -- making sure I get everything in each area, upgrading my weapons, etc. That's also playing offline, so no invasions / invading, which would add some time too.

I started a new character and I made it to where I was before in about 6 hours haha. My main character weighs over 90 so I barely move when I run around. My new character weighs 7 LOL. No one can touch me. I just micro all over the place. Soul arrows killing errr body.

what really bothers me is the fact that it´s almost impossible to play coop with a friend. In deamon´s souls that was no problem, now I´m forced to play with random players because the changed the serversystem in this game.
Here is an online petition from the developersite: http://www.preparetodie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2829
Please sign this if want to have at least the hope of playing this game with youre friend!
Other than that, the game AWSOME

The only thing that I hate so far is the lock system. The principle is the same as in Demon's souls, it just does not work... It's the least responsive control ever. Hope they can patch that.
Other than that, great game, I'm still amazed at the insane level design. Just beat the gargoyles and it felt good!

I can understand wanting to enjoy the game with a friend but for me the primary allure to this game is the difficulty. If I play Co-op, which I did a few times in Demon's Souls, I feel like the game is a hell of a lot easier. I actually like playing solo in DS/DkS because it's just so intense but again I can see where you're coming from.

Yeah, I never even use lock. I'm pretty confident in my positioning and I've done well so I just keep trucking on without locking.

It is strange, but does it not even work for you? It took me a fair while to realize that you have to just flick the R3. I've gotten pretty used to it, but yeah, could be better.

A few questions for people who played demon souls/are far into this one. Is this similar to witcher 2 where its extremely hard at the start for people new to the series but gets easier the further you play? My char feels pretty beastly now with 1h drake sword + shield but who knows how long that will last. Also how are magic/ranged chars compared to meele difficulty wise?

oh no don't worry, I just exaggerated a bit It's just that it does not work as well as in Demon's Souls where it would jump target instantaneously. Now I sometimes have to move the camera for 3 seconds before I'm finally able to pick a different target. It's just a bit frustrating.

Don't know for this one yet but I in Demon's souls, there's a new game+ once you've beaten the final boss and I remember it to be at least as painful as the first playthrough, and probably even worse. Would not surprise me if it was the case here as well.

Your drake sword is going to be useless pretty soon. It doesnt scale.

I'm about to go fight the hydra and then kill some drakes in the valley. I'm using an upgraded astora sword +3 as a cleric. Hoping to find more twinkling titanite so I can upgrade it further. Absolutely loving this game, it's very fun, and it's difficulty doesn't feel forced or cheap. If I run ahead on a whim and run into 3 giant knights I expect to get slaughtered, and I do!

Quick question about the mutiplayer, can a friend and I physically double team a monster? Im so confused how it works! If someone could help me out it would be much appreciated.

Just stay cursed until one of them drops a ghost sword. Then heal the curse and use that to kill them. Not a great weapon but it beats walking around cursed.
