The fire-hand thing you use for pyromancy got broken by some acid spell, it was at 0, and I could still repair it, so not sure. I know in Demon's Souls you could repair from 0, so it seems strange either way. I haven't checked it again though. Just checked online -- and yeah, crystal items can't be repaired, but everything else should be okay: youtube video showing it. Edit 2: You know, that IGN review was kind of awful. They said you can't repair equipment from 0 so you can lose all your best gear from a boss that does an acid attack, which isn't true; they said that if you get cursed the only way to cure it is to go all the way down to the Rondo ruins and talk to the NPC there, which also isn't true (you can buy items much earlier and easier to cure cursed-death status). I know that they're just playing through the first time so of course they don't know everything, but it seems like a lot of people read that and took it as fact. (Actually just read the review again to see if they changed anything -- they do mention the item to cure curse, but I don't remember that from when it first came out. The repair info is still wrong though. Ah well.) You can also go up to where the first bell is and talk to the priest guy to get cured of the curse for 3k souls. Pretty much just walking up there (taking the mountain path not the elevator lift) gives you 3k souls.

If you are a bandit, choose a heavy weapon and max that shit out. Laugh as you run and smite everything in front of you. I jumped off a building onto a semi boss and did over 1000 damage. This is so much fun.

It was your original thread that got me playing Demon Souls ![]() Yo man, no idea about the servers, I assumed they would be region locked again for the lag :o I was pretty stuck for quite awhile, lost all my humanity so I just started doing stuff. Killed the black legless demon thing on the way to the forest and then I found something...something worth spoilering about the tutorial level + Show Spoiler + Dunno if this is supposed to be secret or anything but if you take the elevator where the cleric guy is at the starting location, about 2-4 seconds of going up there's a wall that you can just out the elevator from. From there you're on a ledge and you can do a jump on to this sloped platform. This is the structure where that massive bird is and it allows you to go to the top of it which means you can go to the birds nest and then "curl up". (Don't miss an item on a roof before you go, you'll probably see it easy enough) Keep curled and it will transport you back to the tutorial where some mobs have spawned as well as some knights and that guy that you find in the cell when the boulder smashes through it. Be careful of the room where you fought the tutorial boss because the ground opens up and you have to fight him again, although I thought fuck that and I died pretty fast. Anyway you can go all the way back to the level and pick up a + Show Spoiler + Peculiar Doll

Just beat it on my first try at level 28 as a Mage. What threw me off was the 25k souls gained for beating it. It almost seems like the boss was "meant for higher levels".

You could get around it but that'd probably be harder. And yeah, it does give a lot of souls. I managed it at level 21, died quite a few times, and between the souls from the dragon and the accumulated bloodstain souls from mobs along the way, I had enough to gain ten levels >.> I wouldn't worry too much about it -- if you can kill stuff without dying too much, you're not in the wrong place.

Before you go there, there was a guy to the right who gives you the summoning stone. Anyways, in front of you there was a locked door, well now that door can be opened with your key. Where should I go after the butterfly boss? Is that the end of that area?

- Is there something equivalent to stockpile Thomas for Demon's souls in Dark souls? Could not find anything talking to the few NPCs at the beginning. - In Demon's souls, I only played a magician so I'm trying a melee oriented character this time but I don't know exactly where to spend my points. I would assume it's pretty similar to Demon's souls, so do you guys have any advice for 1 or 2 key stats I should prioritize for the first 10-20 levels?

I haven't found anything yet and I'm like 6 hours in T.T I've read that there was one in blight town, but that there is one before that. He's in the Depths, stuck in a barrel (In the area where the chef is). You have to save him, rest by a bonfire, return to Firelink Shrine and he'll be there.

There's really no need for a thomas type of person in dark souls since you can carry infinite, however if you don't want to carry some stuff with your guy you can buy this item for 1000 souls i think it was and when you go to bonfire you put your stuff in that box.

I just have question: Im only level 10 atm, should I spend souls more often to level up my character? I died a few times with alot of souls... Dunno what char you are playing. But imo get a heater shield for 100% block if you dont have a shield that has that allready. Also get a repair kit and a short bow w/arrows. Make sure to have some firebombs aswell. After you got this you are pretty much set to level up, you might want to get a few spells also if your a magic user. But basically items is more worth than levels in this game. But its no point runniing around with alot of souls to lose ![]()

Do you mean I should get the "repairbox" (god thats expensive) or just repair powder when needed?
