Don't think you'll have anything to worry about there. Especially if you've never played Demon Souls haha

I'm doing so well now. Battling against every foe as if I was a fucking Warlord. + Show Spoiler +I brutally murdered the boss in the sewers. I just went fucking balls to the wall two-handed attack at the start, and then I didn't stop attacking until he died, whether it was his legs or when he came down and smashed his face to the ground. I savaged his face. It took less than 1 minute. Now I'm deep in the ground. Bring on the next boss!!!

I'd be surprised if it didn't kick your ass.
And does anyone find the Drake Sword to be incredibly useful, especially if you get it early on? Still haven't found a better weapon and I'm like ~9hrs in.
+ Show Spoiler +Also found a way to kill the red hellkite/drake/dragon in the Undead Burg bridge that leads to Parish if anyone is interested.

Ah the joy of success yesterday, love making progress Got to two bosses, neither killed
+ Show Spoiler +Copra demon (sp?) got frustrated by the small fighting space and the dogs
Then finally discovered the 2nd bonfire (I had taken the long way around while killing the boar). and took out the big knight at the top of the tower. Made it to the Parish to finally explore (had always pussed out and come back through the boar gate [btw, why the hell is that a gate that closes after death, that pissed me off...])and got to the next boss + Show Spoiler +gargoyles (first one is easy to wear down, but the 2nd ones fire breath thing instagibs me...so ill come back later
and then the guy near the blacksmith killed me about 5 times and i finally took him down on my last attempt before i called it quits last night. Time to explore the new area and then come back and own some bosses after work today.
So im sitting at 2 dead ends with bosses at the end of them, 1 new area to explore, and I have yet to go back and try the skeleton or underground area...woooo

+ Show Spoiler +Gargoyle is super easy if you go Human and summon the NPC just in front of the entrance to the boss fight. Capra Demon is easy if you kill the 2 dogs as quickly as possible then use the stairs to force openings on him.

Killed Queelag over a dozen times now while farming Large Shards (nice souls there)
Killed Hydra, Butterfly, and that big dragon in outer-area of Drake Valley.
Tried ghost-town (anor something) and found out I really don't like fighting monsters that ignore walls and don't give souls.
I know I should do Sen's fortress next...but man it's painful in there.

Don't bother with the skeleton/catacomb area. If you even make it to the catacombs you'll be sprinting your ass right back out of there.

Well, the Black Knight before the Taurus Boss dropped a Black Knight Sword for me. Seems like a rare drop as some people never got it even after a full play through. The base stats are better than the Drake Sword, and it gets bonus from Strength and Dexterity (C and E respectively), which the Drake Swords gives none. Though it does has a higher requirement.

Too bad I'm mainly a caster.

This game is amazing =D. But oddly enough I got to the gargoyle fight before I even found my first merchant. I'm a cleric wearing my beginning robes and beginning mace still o.O.
Got online and bam, apparently I was already supposed to have ranged weapons, items, and better armor already. No wonder I was thinking that the stuff was starting to get a bit harder than I thought it should be lol.

OjKa how's your game going? Do you know if we could play with each other, or are there still Europe/NA/Asia (Japan?) servers?
It was your original thread that got me playing Demon Souls

Being cursed blows so bad.

You didn't buy the repair kit so you can repair weapons at the bonfire?

Nope
I tried the boss and it tickled her because of my broken drake sword. I have to run back to the black smith from where I fucking am now, I have no other choice.

Oh god lol
Word of advice for everyone: buy a repair kit asap. Second I saw it I was like, "Oh shit, I'm gonna' need that..."

Rofl, Mines about broken too so I'm running back before I get deep into blighttown. Can you repair completely broken stuff? Like durability 0/x. Or is it worthless at that point?

Mine was close to 0 durability but if it does hit 0 that equipment is a goner. I advise you switch if it's about to hit 0, I did and just ran.

Are you sure you can't repair from 0? I'd read in the IGN review that you can't, but I did... The fire-hand thing you use for pyromancy got broken by some acid spell, it was at 0, and I could still repair it, so not sure. I know in Demon's Souls you could repair from 0, so it seems strange either way. I haven't checked it again though.
Just checked online -- and yeah, crystal items can't be repaired, but everything else should be okay: youtube video showing it.
Edit 2: You know, that IGN review was kind of awful. They said you can't repair equipment from 0 so you can lose all your best gear from a boss that does an acid attack, which isn't true; they said that if you get cursed the only way to cure it is to go all the way down to the Rondo ruins and talk to the NPC there, which also isn't true (you can buy items much earlier and easier to cure cursed-death status). I know that they're just playing through the first time so of course they don't know everything, but it seems like a lot of people read that and took it as fact. (Actually just read the review again to see if they changed anything -- they do mention the item to cure curse, but I don't remember that from when it first came out. The repair info is still wrong though. Ah well.)
