+ Show Spoiler +Also, slightly off topic, but I've just started having some technical difficulties. My game crashed randomly, which wasn't the first time, but when I press Continue and Enter, the screen begins to fade out like you would expect, but just before it goes totally black, it stops fading and "freezes" and the music continues to play, but nothing else happens.
Has happened 3 or 4 times in a row.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Scratch that, I had a couple of duff saves or something. When I went to Load rather than Continue, the little box that shows the screen was just static, like on the TV. Same for 2 previous saves as well. Oh well, just have to go back 5 minutes.

What are you guys thinking about the difficulty levels, Im playing basically a glass cannon mage (I put 100% of stats into magic) and I've tried both normal and master....they feel pretty similar for me because I die in 1-3 hits anyway, it just takes a little bit longer to kill stuff, but not even that much.
Im switching back to normal because I already have to kite stuff and hide behind rocks for every fight anyway, Master just makes the fight last longer.

I'm currently doing a stealth mage, and my experience is almost exactly mirrored by what the guy on the last page posted. :p

Im playing the same way as you and at lvl 14 on master I've found I need to rely a lot on Lydia to tank damage while I DPS from the back or heal her when necessary. I'm using stoneflesh and have the 2x perk for it so I get 120 armor when I wear a robe. With this set up I get rocked pretty hard if I get in melee range or if spells/arrows hit me so I need to make sure to sprint away or to use the shout that freezes enemies. Additionally the perk that cases overcharged destruction spells to stagger enemies is massively useful. Firebolt can keep enemies at a distance forever.
I haven't tried playing on any other difficulties so I guess my post isn't that informative other than to say playing on master with the glass cannon style is possible but difficult at first.

I know there are a couple of console commands that can do it for you, which is kinda cheating, other than that, I'm not sure, other than find some money and pay the debt.
Out of curiosity, what amount is your debt?

About 4k, which is almost the entirety of my purse. Couple of sloppy jobs for the black brotherhood, if you're wondering <_<
But it doesn't make sense, because it was specifically mentioned that the thieves guild can take care of your debt.. Thought it would be a similar situation to Oblivion.

@Juvant
to get the ability to try and bribe the guards into not bringing you to jail or dropping bounty, you have to be with the thieves guild and it becomes an option when talking to the guard.
The bribe doesn't always work though from my experience.

I love fights where you have to just do everything in your power in order to win. Just took on the Bleak Falls wight lord with my sword and board nord (lol) and it was quite the epic battle.
Started off with the usual hacking and slashing bit, until he used his disarming shout. It wasn't a problem my first game since I played a mage, so I didn't really expect it this time. My skyforge sword flew out of my hands to some random part of the room. I only had one backup melee weapon, an orcish dagger, on me since I hadn't been picking stuff up, so I pulled that out. No biggie, it has pretty ok stats and I was low on stamina anyway. I do some damage with that, and then he disarms me again...ok now where did that dagger go... Couldn't find that either. Well I still had my bow, so I got some distance and shot him a few times, until I lost that one too.
So I'm standing there with no weapons an just a shield against a wight lord, and I have to end up finishing the fight with shield bashing, punching, and my wimpy flame gout spell. I searched for ten minutes afterwards and was only able to find the skyforge sword out of the three.

followers and summons were not affected by difficulty in oblivion and fallout 3 and i think this is, unfortunately, still true
i take her around the overworld with me as bear insurance, but i leave her outside when going into dungeons
i've been playing the glass cannon style myself, but i have not gone so extreme as to put every single point into magic, rather i've been doing a split of 3 magic, 2 stamina, 1 health
what i do is i rely i primarily rely on alchemy for healing. before every major fight, i pop a fortify health potion. at my current alchemy level this is getting me +40 hp which is just barely enough to keep me from getting 1 shotted by most enemies with 2 handed weapons. i'm finding that alteration and destruction don't get along in this game - compared to oblivion, alteration spells are very expensive (which is fine, because shield spells in oblivion were way stronger than healing spells until the very lategame, restoration was more important because of fortify magicka) so you're left with nothing to cast destruction spells with, unless you want to slam some magicka potions too
when facing large groups of enemies i use a sword to take down the weaklings and use my spells to take out the larger groups. runes are pretty good if they cluster up but otherwise it's more cost effective on magic to use the other spells instead
as strange as this may seem i just love kiting stuff and abusing the terrain against the stupid ai. because the world is so damn big, every battle requires you to survey the terrain really fast and come up with ways to exploit the monsters on the fly.

Just looked at my save file, and saw I was already at nearly 24 hours played. How long have YOU played so far?
(If you don't know how to check, go to the main menu, or possibly in game, click "load", then select a save and it will say how long you have played for on the second line below the save, in HHH:MM:SS format)
Also the poll is supposed to say over thirty but below 50, not below 30.

Man, dragons really love me in this game. Killed 4 so far (on Expert difficulty, they were piss easy tbh) and one ganked me on Mount Althor, another when I was just out of Whiterun, and one just literally ganked me when I was in college courtyard. I don't really know what Dragon souls give, but I have a lot for my level (11) I think. If a Dragon's gonna jump on me regularly, I think the theme of dragon hunting will get old as game goes on.

Anyone have any ideas on what might cause my game to get stuck loading infinitely?
Basically I can create a character, flee from the dragon in the beginning, but as soon as I get to the entrance of Helgen Keep and enter, the loading screen sits there forever (tested up to ~30 minutes). The music plays and loading screen graphics update (swirling smoke), so it's not exactly frozen, but it clearly isn't doing anything either.
I've tried new drivers, reinstalling twice, creating new characters, etc. etc., to no avail. Anyone experienced anything similar?

My reaction now is more like "damnit another dragon, I've got better stuff to do". Dragon souls let you unlock shouts by the way, Bleak.

I need to hunt dragons and have only fought 2 regular dragons they are easy. The blood dragons are more difficult though and the shearpoint fight got bugged and wasn't to hard at all

How do I heal my companion? That is one thing I have no clue about yet. I tried targeting her with crosshair and casting the spell, but I have no idea if it works or not. Is this the right way?
Also, where do I get Frost Artonach spell tome? I really want one right now.

I found that using summons or followers in this game just completely sucks for AI reasons. I tried lydia for a while but she continously blocks doors and just generally annoys me. It does mean i'm only using restoration for self usage but I just can't be arsed to play with followers or summons, rather finish it one a lesser difficulty then.

You can find a scroll that will teach you a spell that heals others besides yourself. The healing spell you start out with can't do it though.

I have finally managed to download and install the game.
Everything is running fine and looks good, EXCEPT for the shadows: they look absolutely disgusting and really spoil the whole graphics for me. I ve tried to change "shadow details" but they still look horrible. Do you have an idea how I can tackle that problem?
My system: i7 2600k, geforce gtx 590, 8 gb ram.
