She can only die if you touch her when she's down trying to heal herself, usually it's from an arid slash or a fireball, i've even tested this, i put her in the like damaging blizzard up in the greyberd area and she will stay there go down come back up and repeat forever, (i did that using healing hands to level up rejuv XD, at one point i even left to eat and 10 mins later she was still alive on the ground trying to heal herself.

Hahahahaha, if the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quest-lines made you want to cry, don't even bother with the Mages Guild, else you'll be weeping before long. So short, so linear, and the story isn't even that majestic.

Conjure Flame Atronach, run back behind corner, hope they chase you so the Atronach immolates them, repeat.

haha silly mages, my legendary warrior disguised himself as a student to get access to their stupid ruin. They didnt even recognize the dawnstar when i unsteathed it in the ruins.
+ Show Spoiler +And then i had to babysit them trough deathlord attacks while retriving my amulet. They didnt even realize that they all would have been dead without me. And they totally missed me getting the last amulet piece because they were busy staring at some blue ball while i was picking it up. silly silly mages.

If you're a stealth character and you have a heavy armor companion, does the companion actually hurt your stealth, or not? I noticed that my tank companions get by doing a lot of sneaky stuff lol. I'm curious if it is intended or I'm just lucky.

Plate armor female companion died under similar circumstances, with the mage lady I've been more careful, using healing hands when I think she's taken a beating. Sucks that the companion health meter sometimes doesn't pop up, hard to tell when they need help.

I'm having a really weird problem with the quest "Blood on the Ice." If you haven't done the quest, this will spoil it. + Show Spoiler +This quest ended for me when I walked to the Jarl's advisor and told him about the evidence I have on the court mage doing the crime. I was looking it up online and apparently you're supposed to talk to the court mage and he'll tell you that it wasn't him but Carlixto and that there will be a 2nd murder. On my quest though, the quest ended right when I spoke to the advisor and when I go to jail and talk to the mage all I can do is ask him for destruction training, I even unlocked his cell ffs. I know my quest is technically done and I should just be happy but I feel bad for the mage and I want that Carlixto guy locked up. wutdo?

So I'm thinking of rerolling again....would be the 3rd time. First time i tried a sneaky archer and am now playing a pure mage. I'm doing ok with the mage as i've done quite a bit of the mage guild quest and have done some of the greybeard stuff. I just am having alt-itis i think, which happens to me frequently in RPGs, I kinda wanna reroll to a pally type where i'd be in heavy armor and then use resto spells to keep myself topped off whil attacking w/ a 1h and protect w/ a shield.
I dunno....mid game crisis i guess you could call it

All the quest lines are complete garbage in Skyrim. After about 20ish hours of playing this game I've done the exact same dungeon fetch quest over and over just in different locations. The writing behind the quests is equally as bad and there aren't even multiple dialogue options for your character. It just feels weird to have the player choose his dialogue and there is almost always only one option. Very lazy and uninspired. Also, as others have mentioned the faction quest lines are also incredibly short which just makes it even harder to stomach.

Roll pure mage with good armor lol! I did this quest starting with just a normal dagger and party hat and clothes (as I gave the gear to the lady instead of the guy) with destruction magic anything is possible XD (p.s I killed the troll with 2 fireball spells)

Anyone know how to dismiss a summoned character? I can't figure it out, and I have the Dark Brotherhood summon following me everywhere.

Running around currently with my blacksmith/enchanter/alchemist/pickpocket character, played the game too much sofar. I'm pretty well known around the blacksmiths and vendors in each city now. As for quests... well lets say I'm not helping anyone lol. Might even hit 50, without seeing anything of the world yet except the cities by cart. I'm playing it a bit too much like the sims crafting game T_T.

I lost my Lydia on the first day fighting the giants right next to Dragonsreach stuck at least 200 arrows into the mammoths and giants at lvl 4 and lvled 2 times ha ha

Hmm I thought the quest lines were quite good....seemed like a lot more work went into them than Oblivion. I even enjoy doing the random quests you get from town to town which I never did in the other games cause they were always boring and generic. Maybe its just cause the world is so pretty to look at. The only thing that's disappointing is that Bathesda got really lazy with the multiple paths in this game. In Fallout 3 there was always multiple ways to complete a quest and the speech option was really important which I liked. That's basically non existent in this game....it was always something I enjoyed a lot in their games kinda disappointing to see the quests being so linear this time around =[

You tried friendly fire? Usually some summoned beings can't be affected by melee or ranged weapons (spells work)

Yeah, I can kill him. Just seems like there should be a better way. Guess I'll just have to flame him to death.

Haha I am level 20 and have only seen 2 cities so far. I am really curious how they look but I don't want to fast travel to them and I can't just pass some castle or dungeon on the side of the road either so it takes forever to get from A to B
