lol I love all the talk about refunding. I enjoyed the game thoroughly, and though the ending sucks, I have started my Insanity femshep playthrough, and am pumped to get on with it.
Multiplayer notes:
So who did the N7 challenge this week and got both packs? If you got both, what N7 weapon did you get? I got the N7 Eagle which is really quite cool (one of the only two N7 weapons worth getting from that pack apparently). It is a lot like the arc pistol but a bit easier to control, and better overall imo though low damage is meh. So I will stick to Phalanx for my Asari Adept until I get a Carni or Paladin.
Otherwise am still enjoying multiplayer, when it feels like it gets repetitive it helps to crank up the difficulty or try new classes and/or weapons. That being said I generally play a game or two inbetween studying and other things, so it is ok to get bored after a couple of games anyway xD

man all this talk of Organics and synthetics and cycles gave me such deja vu of Battlestar Galactica...still disappointing ending is disappointing. If the indoctrination ending is in fact true (even though it seems ridiculously and pointlessly convoluted), it still doesn't answer a lot of the major issues and doesn't really end anything. I loved the mass effect series, but seriously this feels like eating a delicious 3-course meal at a 5-star restaurant, then receiving shit for dessert. No matter how good the courses that came before it were, all I can remember is the shit ending and makes me never want to revisit the series again.
Seriously I've lost so much faith in Bioware that I'm never preordering from them again. Only after I've heard from multiple sources and done serious research that any game they make is good will I even consider buying it in the future.

Poll: What kind of Reinforcement Packs do you purchase?I mix it up depending on my current needs and credits (6) 40% Mostly Veteran Packs (5) 33% Mostly Spectre Packs (4) 27% Mostly Recruit Packs (0) 0% 15 total votes Your vote: What kind of Reinforcement Packs do you purchase? (Vote): Mostly Recruit Packs (Vote): Mostly Veteran Packs (Vote): Mostly Spectre Packs (Vote): I mix it up depending on my current needs and credits
The reason I'm wondering is because in the demo, it was pretty obvious that the only thing you bought were Veteran Packs, but not that there is a level above it at three times the cost, I kind of feel like it's not so obvious anymore. The randomness factor combined with the insanely bad odds of getting the ultra-rare items in Spectre Packs means that 90% of your Spectre Packs will be no better than a Veteran Pack. With that logic, wouldn't it be better to start from the bottom? I mean, if you for example buy a million credits worth of Veteran Packs, then you'll have gotten a lot of the rare items max level, meaning that you can't get them randomed from your Spectre Packs anymore, thus indirectly increasing your chances of getting the ultra-rare items through process of elimination? On the other hand, even though this method is very smart, it'll take forever, and it'll take a lot of self-control to keep yourself from spending all that money on Spectre Packs, since you know that that one item you so desperately want might be inside the very next one. Personally, I've lately gone by the principal to not buy anything for an entire playing session, and then when I'm about to quit for the day I spend every single credit I can on what is currently the most expensive Pack I can buy, in other words: when I get under 60k I start buying Veteran Packs, and when I get under 20k I start buying Recruit Packs. Not that that is the best way by any means, but it's just been my little system for mixing it up. Thoughts on what the optimal purchasing technique is?

Who is Javik? Is he from dat 1 DLC?
Considering recent war between Quarians and Geth, I'm not really convinced about syntetics as demons of universe (damn! I even let my favorite character Tali suicide, because I was enraged about stupidness of other commanders on quarian fleet).
And what about crucible? Some kind of "addon (or DLC? ) for gods"? Why protheans also tried to make it? The only viable option it gave was creating this so called "synergy" of living and robots. How is it suppose to stop next generations from creating another syntetics? In my opinion chances are the same as for "destroy all syntetics, but next generation will make them anyway" option.
What they did with ending is just sad. If there is some solid explanation, they should add it to game. I'm a little bit of writer, and even as "casual" I know that making a novel with great idea, doesn't make it great, without explaination of reasoning (not exacly straight forward, but if you are thinking "wtf did i just read?" after ending, it means that author failed)
Next thing is that damn kid-god popping out of nowhere. It is so cheap, to finish some story with adding omipotent being that don't need to explain anything. He's just there to say "I did that, because I'm godlike, so SFTU and do your job!".
And there is Normandy jumping to the different system during the ending - and character that could fight with us in London leaving ship after crash. At least i didn't have EDI with me, but both Garrus and Liara fought by my side there - and BAM! they decided to board Normandy in the moment when Shepard got inside Citadel (and ran away from system in the same moment i guess...).
I don't even want to consider indotrinaction as option. I mean... You finish trilogy having a hallucination about finish? That's just sad. It is like watching "300" and having last scene showing them all waking up in Sparta before departuring;P "Oh damn! That was quite a nightmare! Let's make some breakfast."

Only pack I am buying between now and when it is gone is that better veteran pack for 33k though. Before that it was all spectre and at one point binging on recruit packs for attachments, so now these until they are gone and then spectre again :D

I only buy Veteran Packs since I need some more characters and weapons badly and you can get 2 veteran packs in three full games, more or less, so it's quite quick. I won't move over to spectre packs until I feel I actually need rarer cards, atm I just want more weapons and characters. I've only bought 3-4 packs and I've already unlocked Quarian Infiltrator and Turian Soldier, so it's working out great so far.

Is there any else who feels like the indoctrination theory puts anyone who didn't choose destruction in a bad spot?
I specifically didn't choose destruction ONLY because I didn't want to destroy the Geth. I had literally JUST mended the relationship with the quarians and the geth and both of them were willing to live side by side and help each other, why in the world would I want to destroy them as a race? Not to mention I just really, really love the Geth.
I didn't give a shit about the Mass Relays or starting over with technology, and my first thought was to go destruction, but then killing the Geth was just not an option, period.
I guess the indoctrination theory could be pointing to destroying Geth as the main reason you wouldn't want to choose destruction, but that would be really stupid of Bioware to do. "Hey, we're gonna say you're going to kill the race you just helped, but it's not actually true."
Come to think of it, if it's indoctrination why wouldn't the reaper make destruction a MUCH less appealing option? Why not kill EVERY race in the universe except humans or kill earth and everyone in earth's galaxy while also killing the reapers? Wouldn't they just make destruction the least appealing option? Why would they make destruction an option at all if they were truly trying to indoctrinate?

The Reapers are half machine/half organic. Don't ask me how this is possible, but considering what they are and that they need to reduce organics into bilogical goo for some reason it makes perfect sense for them to crush civilization after the Geth rebelled on the Quarian mastersl Because you see, the Geth are pure technology. They can waste all biological life in the galaxy, and that would make the Reapers sad because then they'd have nothing to reap. So of course they're not going to let the Geth, the Quarians or any other space farin species persist and continue creating AI who have no use for organics. The fact that legion and EDI prove that it is possible for AI to live in harmony with organics probably just isn't worth the risk to the Reapers. They know the potential consequences of rebellious AI and have decide that the risks are too great.

Yeah well.. I guess i'll understand when i get to it. The game before that is great tho. I love the improved combat with the dodge possibility and the cover to cover action ( god i wanted that so bad as an infi in ME2 ) and the renegate / paragon thingy being not as restrictive as before. The feeling of an universe getting older is great. The way characters you know come back, and their mission results being linked to loyalty mission feel very dramatic. + Show Spoiler +Mordin, Grunt and Thane story are heart breaking
Overall i'm 20hour in, and i rarely been this involved with character story and immersion. But everyone talking abot the ending make me fear the worse everytime i progress into the story. TT

What you should do is play properly up till the end and enjoy the brilliance of the game, then get drunk and watch the ending so you just don't give a fuck about it.

I got the useless N7 Hurricane SMG from the victory/commodation packs. Apparently the absolute worst weapon you could get. Hell, even an Avenger I is better.
