Magic Planeswalker is a much better initial purchase if your wanting to limit your costs, and will give you more bang for your buck, I think it's a good place to start.

I also would like to try some booster draft, but you have to buy a ticket to play? And I also would not have any chance winning theses.

You can play vs low level players right away on Magic Online, it just depends. You could try the casual room game modes like planeswalker format(there is a planeswalker format on Magic Online for new players that uses cards similar to the planeswalker games), but that has some limitations and you might not always match up vs low level players. Sometimes players with very strong decks play in the casual room, so you can't always be sure your matched with someone of a similar deck price or skill, it's harder to play casually on magic online than it is with your friends, where it's just fun, and you have "house rules". (No turn 3 combo wins, no 50000$ decks, etc). Maybe someone who plays more casual on MO can share their thoughts. Drafts are great, they are going to cost you 3 packs + 2 tickets, or 14 tickets I believe so your going to need to do the math and see if that's a good deal for you. You will probably struggle if your new to drafting, and its going to be hard to recoup some of your losses, so I suggest this if you have a bit of disposable income or your not going to be doing it that often. The swiss drafts are the best place to start if your new. You can win cards, but your going to need a good constructed deck or your going to need to play limited(sealed or draft). Both of these require some amount of financial investment, no format is truly that cheap. Not sure on the current prices to get into formats, but constructed formats have a large up front cost(for the deck) and then tournaments are 6 or 10 tickets each.

Basically there are 2 casual rooms, 'Just starting out' in which you can play totally fine with the 300 cards you start with, and 'just for fun' where you absolutely need to have a more competitive deck. I am playing exclusively in the 'just for fun' room now (plus a few phantom DGM sealed). I have spent about 20 event tickets to build a white green token deck on my own. And after a lot of tinkering, I am at about 50% wins. It's lot of fun. But yeah sometimes you get roflstomped by ridiculously strong decks.

Other than that, buying a deck is not that expensive. Looks like a good deal to me.

Long time bad magic player. been playing as casual for 5-6 years, but always bad, not having a lot of money to buy cards etc etc. But I really enjoyed watching day[9] play some magic online, and now that I have a extra money I was thinking about playing online. But here are my question. Should I buy the Magic Planeswalker or the other magic online? Will I have any chance in the Magic Online? Do I have to spend a lot of money buying card etc? I was thinking about buying the Magic Planeswalker 2014 to have some fun in the singleplayer, but if playing Magic Online is cheap and fun I'll give it a try. MTGO is fun, but I would simply stick to pauper as most of the decks in that format are cheap. The big exception is Delver Blue due to Cloud of Faeries and a few other cards. I basically gave up on trying to put together a standard, modern, or legacy deck because the prices (just like in real Magic) are ridiculous unless you want to play a deck just because it's cheap. For a top tier deck you're looking at the price of a very nice desktop computer for standard (up to ~$700 USD) and the price of two nice computers for a legacy deck (Closer to $1200). Modern isn't quite as bad as legacy, but both of them are quite expensive thanks to dual lands/shocks. So, my suggestion - if you play MTGO, just play Pauper, or just play DOTP.

What level or water damage is ok for tournament play? Depending on how bad the damage is, you might just want to wet them again, then place some fabric over them and use an iron to try to press them back. They're already going to have lost their value, so if the whole card is warped (unplayable) you may as well try to at least get it flat again.

It's just one side, I think if I double sleeve them they're still playable but I'll ask the judge to be safe.

Progenitor mimic is a good card, because you can make a copy of whatever is out on the battlefield, even if it's a strong creature your opponent controls. Furthermore, it makes a copy of itself each following turn, without needing to utilize a populate mechanic. Emmara Tandris is good if you are using a deck that will have a lot of tokens. If your only tokens are the ones progenitor mimic will be creating, then the odds of taking advantage of her ability are pretty low in a given game. You have to get both creatures out, the progenitor mimic must not get removed before reproducing, and emmara tandris must not get removed before you can utilize her ability. They also open up the deck to a third color which isn't worth it just for a chance to make a token or two unable to take combat damage. Is my thinking correct?

You are almost over thinking the situation in only one aspect. It's a combination of likelihood which you already looked at, effect or payoff which you didn't really consider, and finally your draft considerations where you have to consider how a 2nd pick 7 drop affects how you draft later on so you didn't waste your second pick which you really didn't consider at all. Finally, on a different level, how much is Emmara Tandris contributing to the little synergy, aka do you actually need Tandris to do things with Mimic, how good is Tandris by herself, etc.

1. Emmara Tandris is not a very good card in general, it costs 7 and usually does nothing. Its upside is very high because if you have a bunch of token makers, it's great, but even then it's easy to get out-tempo'd or just flown over while you're sitting on one or two indestructible centaurs. 2. The combo with Mimic is what's known as "win more". If you have Mimic making tokens, the game is already over. The synergy with Emmara basically doesn't matter because it's overkill. 3. Colors. Not a big factor since they're both easily splashable 6+-drops in the color which has the best fixing, but you probably want to be cutting Simic so you get more of it in pack 2.
