Venom builds usually consist of 30/0/30 and the rest is at your convenance.

lore wise there's 5 elder dragons i believe. Kalkratorik (Crystal desert), Zhaitain (Orr), Primordus (Destroyers & GW1:EotN), Jormag (Ice dragon in shiverpeaks), and an unnamed deep sea dragon nicknamed Bubbles. Shatterer and Teq are dragon champions of the elder dragons. Can anyone comment on the state of the thief in sPvP? I was going to make one (haven't been able to play a lot yet due to time constraints) but people are going nuts about thief being wildly overpowered due to Heartseeker spam + stealth. Apparently sPvP matches are flooded with thieves trying to abuse this mechanic. Is this just typical internet whining or is there a real problem? I like the profession a lot but playing something easy/overpowered isn't very appealing.

There's a lot of thieves but also a lot of whiners. Haven't had a problem with thieves on my warrior or necromancer.

you can use them to buy weapons/armor in the cities. or you can also buy items from heart npc's after you finish the heart

In 8v8s you'll see a ton of thieves. A lot of the times each team is stacked full of thieves and you will die in under 2 seconds if a good number of them are HS spammers. However 8v8s are pretty much hyper zerging, there's hardly any structure in the first place. In tournaments you will see 1 maybe 2 thieves on each team so it's not that bad. Just solo queue tournaments or with some people, 8v8s are beyond awful.

I've made it my goal in this game to craft a legendary weapon without having to use the auction house... Man it sure is going to take a while. Plus even if I wanted to use the AH I'd have to be rich as hell.

How do you guys level in this game? I'm a lvl20 Sylvari and I don't really know what to do anymore lol, just running around cutting down trees and mining copper and hoping the auction house goes off maintenance so I can buy somethings to help my artificing.

Have you tried exploring all the races starter zones? They give good exp

Do all the original starting areas. I've done the Charr, human, and the asura... got me to level 30+
Haven't even done the Norn/Sylvaria

For pvp balance, the only real outliers are that good mesmers are too good at 1v1 (unbeatable) and hasted pistolwhip/stomp is stupid as hell.
Heartseeker spam is annoying, but in a competitive match it is pretty easy to deal with and the theifs that do it are usually glass cannons.

This post pretty much convinced me not to get it. I absolutely hate shit like that. Warhammer had witch elves by the dozens in every battleground. I hated it so much

idk how time-efficient WvWvW is for exp but I think I'll probably go there with my underleveled characters, because it's a way of building up levels that hopefully won't feel too repetitive.

I'm pretty sure they will nerf Heartseeker by reducing the damage on target over 33%
There's really good build beside D/D heartseeker spam tho.
Pistol/dagger or sword/pistol or even dagger/pistol are very good weapon setup for PvP.
Even I when I play D/D, i barely use HS in fight.

HOD is trashing you because you cant hold your supply camps with 5-8 people and seige equipment - 3 arrow carts and a ballista vs my guilds 3-5 people (because this is literally all my guild could get in the battleground all day on saturday and most of the day sunday - yeah, we have queues too.) without calling your entire zerg to come and clear us out.
You're probably being attacked because you're the weaker target.
Completely ignore the fact that blackgate has at least 30 people attacking the south eastern parts of the map that we control at all times. You can't even pretend that you had dolyak escorters because we were killing most of them uncontested too.
Obviously I do not know if it was the same story in the other battlegrounds.
Good luck on the new server though, I don't doubt that your alliance is capable of big things but the excuses I've heard about the last two days are pretty laughable. Everyone is having issues with pubbies taking up slots where extra guild/alliance members would be more useful, dolyak escorters wasting at least 10 slots and 'double teaming' - I'll give you a tip, everyone is under assault by both factions, thats why its WvWvW

I've been in WvW 3 times so far because the Q's are at least 30min on our server. I have literally no clue about anything you were talking about and I don't belong to any kind of big guild at all.
Who said I was moving servers anyway? I'm just commentating on what I understood to be happening according to everyone else who only does WvW all day.
God damn don't need to write some long paragraph and start drama lol. Guess I'll just keep my mouth shut and avoid angering people.

I'm just honestly bored at work on my lunch break and felt like correcting a few things, I had assumed you were part of AA which was obviously incorrect.
Not so much here but on a number of other places on the internet AA are blaming everyone but themselves for the loss which is getting a bit tiring to read.
My apologies for assuming you were with them, drama is fun though. Get amongst it.
Since you are not part of AA what are your thoughts on them apparently abandoning your server, are you intending to move yourself? Shiverpeaks are going to lose the next few matchups quite hard I would imagine now that they arent a high pop server.

The queues are pretty funny at the moment, we've had ~25 people trying to queue at times and some people will get in within 10 minutes, some people take about 2 hours and a few people were queued for about 12-14 hours on Saturday and could not get in.
