I have a autohotkey script, that when I press F1, it toggles spam of left mouse button. I dont give a flying ass that its not "legal", and I even recommend it to my friend who struggled with looting as well and quited the game cause of it. I heard its better to get your ancient in upgrading rare (hope of cain), then the reforge recipe that demands a frigging 50 soul shards. Anyone have experience in this?

I believe the Ancient chance is the same for both method's and upgrading is a lot cheaper then the other option.

The expansion introduced adventure mode which is where nearly 100% of your time will be spent once you finish the campaign once. If you think you're going to play it just for the campaign and call it a day by finishing the story then it's probably not worth it. That would take a lot less than 1-2 weeks too. The 1-2 weeks was an estimate at how long it will take to get a character "up to speed" (relatively) so you can start REALLY playing on the highest difficulties, grouping for various activities, progressing on leaderboards and hitting seasonal goals, etc. It depends on where you draw the line. 2 weeks to get decent gear and call it quits is one thing, but most here will probably tell you that's 1-2 weeks to truly "start" the endgame, that's where the real fun begins. For a game with no subscription cost the amount of time I dump into D3 is pretty ridiculous

But if you enjoy getting each class up to a full class set, where the build really come together, you'll still get good value for your money compared to most other games. I did that on Season 1, played a Crusader pretty casually until I completed Akkhan's and Rolands. Then I ran around T4 and called it a season. I wasn't interested in grinding the incremental upgrades to get to T6. (Season 2 and 3 I didn't enjoy because I just didn't enjoy Wiz enough to not play Heroes of the Storm instead) Gear seems much inflated since then though, so I'm thinking I'll shoot for T7 at least this season. But ya, if you play casually then it'll take you much longer than the 20 hours people are quoting to get a full set. I was around plvl 100 when I completed my set iirc. I was basically getting 1-2 plvl's / rift and it too many rolls at Kadala before I got any set pieces (never got a fancy weapon either). I basically played the majority solo with the occasional pub game and with a friend whenever he was online.

It's weird that the game got to this kind of issue. get them too slow, people complain. get them too fast, people complain. i think we can safely say that there is nothing Blizzard can do that will stop people from complaining.

With GRs there is no real reason for Blizz to make grinding for gear take longer. If you're a fan of getting those drops and hoping for that one piece of loot after dozens or hundreds of hours then that's a very specific desire, and yeah sure you might burn out sooner. But in general there are ways to progress and push yourself now, with GRs, higher torments, etc. such that you shouldn't feel entitled to "grinding for gear should take a long time 'because Diablo'"
