You'll have that 15% advantage over everyone else buying it on the first day.
Wut?
If you farm now you can find the ilvl60 legendaries that you're gonna want to find the ilvl70 version of once the expansion is out. It is much better to have that lvl 60 version because of whatever set bonus or effect then having some random ilvl70 legendary with big numbers. If you plan to play the expansion a fair bit it is definitly worth investing time finding certain pieces.

Things you should do while you still can
- level(hardcore) characters. The 50% bonus xp isn't here forever, and you can get damn close to 60 off one run on hard. - Sell off excess gems. Imperial gems will drop which will completely outclass whatever you have.
Paragon does make a difference because my crusader will be rocking double damage&faster MS, increased AS, moderate AR and LPS, and some other stat at level 1. I don't know if I will run crusader first or just blow through it on T1 with wizard/monk though.

it is only if you want a big epeen that it matters because you will be the first group of people to get max char, best gear, etc. you'll have that 15% advantage over everyone else buying it on the first day.
I think its worth playing to level due to the xp bonus buff. If you already have all the toons at 60 you want then just wait for RoS.

I think you're ignoring how high the numbers scale at level 70. Level 60 gear is like level 50 gear right now. Stats are doubled, damage is doubled, armor is doubled...
If you're lucky, the enchanter will do a full re-roll of items and bring items up to ilvl70. Doubt it, though.

i doubt it, they just want to leave the whole item mess behind them.
They could not delete old items that were unbalanced because of the auction house and they cant delete everything for the majore combat rebalance.
But they can make everything useless by increasing the level by 10.

Well, I meant for drops post Loot 2.0. You can already re-roll a single mod for those, but a single mod doesn't mean much. I'm sure Blizzard would be fine having players search for the same item drops multiple times.

Thanks in advance for any helpful answers. Basically everything in vanilla D3 will be obsoleted in RoS, so I wouldn't worry at all. Level 70 gear completely eclipses level 60 (except for absolute BiS level 60 legendaries, which might barely match low-end 70 gear). Level 60 crafting materials can't be used for level 70 recipes, gems can drop 4-5(?) grades higher. Gold will still be useful for crafting/enchanting, so you could stockpile, but it won't be a big deal. Paragon levels will carry over, but you get those fast enough, and the gains from those aren't enough to make or break a character. Thanks, that is good to hear. Although I have to say the paragn levels seem to give some nice stats.
I think we can also understand the removal of the auction house in the context of this "reset". If it still existed when the addon comes out, the players that have played a long time before the addon would totally dominate the economy with all the gold they have accumulated.
On another note, the new difficulty levels they have now seem kinda weird. Like, I never come close to dying on Master with my crap equipped lvl 50 witch doctor. Although it takes me forever to kill anything lol.

Is there any site / resource available where you can look at decent builds for the classes? Back when i played after release I followed the threads here on TL, but im looking for WD builds and the WD thread hasn't been active since last September. I'm just messing around to see some of the changes before determining if I want to buy the expansion or not, but would be nice to see what builds people are playing with.
Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing your best bet would be the B.net forums.

even blizzard has said there is really nothing to do to prepare for RoS except for leveling paragon, getting a str hellfire (if you want to play crusader and get the extra xp) and finding cain's set. all things that give you an upper hand when RoS comes out, but none of which are necessary.

Thanks in advance! http://diablo.somepage.com/popular/ Interesting how the most popular builds are used by less than 1% of players respectively. Good job by Blizzard I guess.

I was in the same boat when I started playing again with a few friends.
The most important things you can do to prepare for RoS are, in my opinion: 1. Familiarize yourself with the build you're going to use for leveling and figure out which difficulty level is going to be efficient for you. 2. Make a Hellfire Ring for your primary character at least; if you have the time, make one for each stat, but this involves a lot of farming. You can also make one for your follower.
In the process of doing the above, you'll probably get a few legendaries and a ton of paragon levels. I bought an old Witching Hour and crossbow and have found the rest of my gear upgrades, tripling my unbuffed DPS from what it was when I quit.

Well with all the variety of runes the sheer amount of choices make it unlikely that most people will use exactly the same rune setup, and most of the skill setups are pretty similar.
But I agree, good job by blizz in this regard.

Sweet, thanks for the link guys. I'll be sure to check that out and what's going on over at the Blizz forums.

also, i checked WD and it still has the old firebat build. i am not sure how up to date these are even though it says they have been updated recently.

Haven't played D3 in forever and just started again. I like the new loot systems and getting rid of the AH's and such, but I see Legendaries are bound on account? Seems like Blizzard went from one extreme of in game AH's to almost the other extreme of making all trading in general gone, lol. Not that I really care, and I'm sure it's been talked about to exhaustion, it's just funny that I bet Blizz is getting a bunch of new nerd hate for almost the opposite reason of before.

Numbers are skewed by inactive players. The top 3 Barb builds for 0-49 and 50-100 are all Double Tornado...which doesn't even work anymore.

So from what I've gathered, levelling paragon is the only worthwhile thing to do right now?
