Still, if you want efficiency atm should definitely gear swap into MF gear for boss kills. Fortunately for me, all of my gear already has MF on it. I suspect all the seroius item hunters already have a set of DPS/MF gear anyway. DPs/MF gear is expensive, but not too exorbitant. This nerf (or "fix" depending on your view) I think will primarily affect tanks, since tank gear + MF is unbelievably expensive. I really think Blizzard ought to actually promote coop by buffing MF. Right now MF for coop is not more efficient than SP. I believe right now monster HP scales by 110% per player at Inferno too, so in theory cooping will always be less efficient than soloing with a high DPS character. The change could be something as simple as giving 5% more MF/GF per player in a group per NV stack. In a 4-player game, for instance, even someone with 0 MF will have 150% at 5 stacks. This would help out the tanking characters quite a bit more. There shouldn't be any unbalancing problem in Inferno, since an uncoordinated group will be murdered except in A1.

Pre-patch I would farm act3, and got probably 10 total plans, 2-3 were 6prop(weapons, lulz), 2-3 5 prop, and the last 5 or so 4prop. Just wondering if act1 can even drop 6prop plans? 6-prop plans are the equivalent of ilvl63.

The whole 'change-2-seconds-before-killing-blow' was just idiotic, you shiuld be rewarded for fighting with mf instead of a macro button or just quick fingers. Imo this is along the same lines with exploiting the game early on to get to the later acts via bugged skills. I almost gave up in d3 before 1.03 but these changes seem to be going towards fixing the stupidest imbalanced thimgs there are. I play a wd with a corpse spider build working towards act 3 inferno and enjoying the game and decisions by blizz to make it harder for the 0,001%. Also, I have very little time to play weekly as I have 3-month old daughter at home.

I can't imagine how much different the progression, economy and public perception of the game would have been had they tested it to this point before ejaculating it on the market :s

On the other hand, it'd be interesting to see if this makes a change in the AH/RMAH prices, since I can imagine quite a lot of people are doing it currently.

They gotta come up with decent gameplay and mechanics instead of nerfing whatever they dont like. This is really annoying me.

I miss my UNICORN (not pony) stucking while I take my time to switch to MF gear... Why does everyone called it pony land when there's only unicorns, no ponies....

But would you honestly consider MF swap intended, good design? If Blizzard meant for you to swap gears in combat as a game mechanic, they'd built an UI feature for it. Like if you had a build where you swing a 2hander and then back off to 1h+shield while on cds, need defenses, they'd given a weapon swap button and sets. To me all this MF nonsense was always something terribly clumsy oversight, I mean, it's 2012, if the devs intended you to hotswap gear in boss fights, you SHOULD have UI element for it. They did the same for WoW with gear sets and you can't even change in combat (other than weapons), but they implemented what many popular mods were doing. One of these days I'll get a paypal acc to try and sell what gear I managed to scrounge up, this game fell so short on all the pre-hype it's silly.

Hey, it's not like this clumsy oversight hasn't been in since forever, and they just now realised that it's bad for us. From my point of view it's just another arbitrary restriction which cheapens the game. You don't have to do it if you don't want to - hell, dedicated people have everyday gear with MF so they don't have to swap. Regardless, they're just gonna axe that option? Not a good decision.

Now mf+good stats/dps gears will be more expensive than before = higher GAH/RMAH prices ie more income tax = making Blizzard's money plan even better. The purpose of all the neff/fix is to make them more money if people realized that and making it economically harder to beat inferno. As a normal player, the amount of time for me to get those end game gears will be increased hugely (plus don't forget AH manipulate item drop rate). For those rich kids with parent's credit card, just pay for all the $250 gears and you can finish inferno in less than 1 day. D3 is pay for win.

Wasn't a clumsy oversight. It was a mechanic that they inherited from D2 without making any changes. The MF-swapping mechanic was well known. I'm guessing they're modifying it due to a ton of complaints, what's new. I've pre-emptively started selling my MF gear. Might as well make a quick profit.
