bidded money was returned, and you couldn't cancel if someone already bought your item (it'd give some error)
there's zero confirmation on the gold dupe besides a handful of forum posts

That's your opinion. Mine having watched several streamers describe it w/o going into too much detail since they were streaming it sounds legit. Not to mention that I checked the AH on US shortly after they talked about it and saw a WHITE weapon for 2 BILLION gold buyout. That was in a list of 10-12 Auctions when sorted by buyout that were going for 2 BILLION gold. I've NEVER seen ANYTHING like that on the AH before until this gold duping bug went mainstream. So, if you care to give an explanation on how that AH anomaly can occur that doesn't have to do with this gold duping I'm all ears.

Lucky drops? Also, why has the asian server been down for so long? you can fake a video like that without too much difficulty or he was just botting with multiple accounts there's still zero confirmation It's anecdotal evidence, but also, all items I had on the AH got snapped up, after not selling for quite a while. Others are reporting the same. I guess a way to test if large amounts of gold have recently been put into the system is to look at prices for high end items on the AH and see if they have spiked recently? What would you consider to be proof of this having occurred? *Edit* I'm going to try and sell some decent items for inflated prices and see what happens. the method that's been posted around doesn't work (cancel auction via clock) if there is a gold dupe it's been kept pretty secret at the very least there WAS a bug that let you craft for free but that was hotfixed two days ago i suppose in theory you could craft for free and NPC the crafted items for gold but if it was hotfixed two days ago i don't see why there would be a rollback the method doesnt work anymore after that lag spike earlier which people suggest was a hotfix for it., i can 100% confirm that you could cancel auctions with the client clock, i did so to clear up space. although i have not done any item/gold stealing/duping, dozens of people confirm they have. if everyone who says they have are all trolls out to slander blizzard and this whole duping thing was a farce ill apologize and eat my words. but canceling and stealing money from auctions DID happen, i canceled auctions my self once. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how do i get my foot out of my mouth

If 7 million play a game, there is always some doing weird and stupid things. Some might mistype, some might do it just for fun, some might want to scam people who accidentally buy the wrong item - who knows? Maybe some even do it to troll people like you.

Prior to this "scare" "fake" "real" whatever you'd like to use to describe it, the HC AH rarely had anything stupidly priced at 2 BILLION fucking gold. Then all of the sudden after this items at every level are getting priced at that. I dunno. Maybe it's a super good troll but maybe there was also something going on. I don't care anymore. It will be interesting to see what Blizz does tomorrow. I'm going to bed. Should have been to bed hours ago but got stuck fighting my opinion/thoughts with others who won't budge on theirs, like I won't budge on mine. Guess we agree to disagree. Good night. It just doesnt make any sense, sure, if there are white marked sold for 2bil thats wierd, but it doesn't really support the idea of a gold dupe. If people really had an exclusive exploit (which it was if it existed, as nobody on any hack site has released how to perform it), then they still arent going to be advertising this fact by wasting billions of gold on useless items, it gains them nothing and has the potential to seriously hurt them if it draws blizzards attention or creates a panic and what basically amounts to a run on the banks.

Also the fact that there are even more auctions with prices like 1,111,111,111 999,999,999 686,486,684, 432,144,213 shows me that this is nothing of importance but just people messing with prices. 2 billion is simply the maximum possible price, that's why you see it. Can you see canceled bid only auctions as sold? That would explain that as well. Else that one is weird indeed, but it might still be gold sellers transferring gold from compromised botting accounts to their real ones. I doubt however that they would do it in such big chunks.
