unless this is some huge underground thing the gold dupe bug doesn't exist
if you're talking about "rollback clock -> cancel auction -> make money" that doesn't "dupe" gold at all
without say how it works. it essentially causes one person to get the gold from an item.
then the person who originally payed for the item gets their gold back, as such 1000 gold was payed and item was collected. then all of a sudden the buyer gets back the 1000 payed. so now there is 2000 gold and an item from that transaction. 1000 gold has pooooofed out of thin air.
yes i know what you're talking about no it doesn't work
jesus can you guys test these things and/or find a reliable source before you freak out

You can still dupe items and gold, there is more than a single way.
Yeah, the huge lag spike was just a few minutes after the news broke out. I kinda find it hard for it to be a coincidence but I really hope it is just a coincidence.

I did test it after the lag spike though so if that is what fixed it then ^_^

the lag spike from what ive read on bnet and d2jsp was the hotfix to fix the problem.
the issue is however it wasnt JUST discovered its been happening for god knows how long, it just became mainstream after a streamer showed it to his viewers.

Also, why has the asian server been down for so long?

Well literraly last week you could dupe items from vendor bug on asian sever. Asuming you could vendor stuff for 1k each item and dupe shit by 1 click, sell shit by 1 click... with my 300 APM i could earn 150k per second.... thought?

that chinese dude who invested $6k on farming bots is going to be very upset soon. lol.
At least there is some irony in it then. ROFL.
If this is true, it's a sad state of affairs. I did notice that all items i had on the ah yesterday before the "hotfix" lag spike got snapped up regardless of how overpriced they were.

you can fake a video like that without too much difficulty or he was just botting with multiple accounts
there's still zero confirmation
It's anecdotal evidence, but also, all items I had on the AH got snapped up, after not selling for quite a while. Others are reporting the same.
I guess a way to test if large amounts of gold have recently been put into the system is to look at prices for high end items on the AH and see if they have spiked recently?
What would you consider to be proof of this having occurred?
*Edit* I'm going to try and sell some decent items for inflated prices and see what happens.

the method that's been posted around doesn't work (cancel auction via clock) if there is a gold dupe it's been kept pretty secret at the very least there WAS a bug that let you craft for free but that was hotfixed two days ago i suppose in theory you could craft for free and NPC the crafted items for gold but if it was hotfixed two days ago i don't see why there would be a rollback

I don't know, but I know that if I found this bug, I sure as hell would not post about it on a web-site.
Obviously not proof, but not a good sign wither; I just sold 3 items since I last posted for between 200k and 500k which I would normally sell for 10-30k...
*Edit* Also, there are now 15 pages of 2billion gold buy out weapons including some 2dps junk, which I have never seem happening before.

the method doesnt work anymore after that lag spike earlier which people suggest was a hotfix for it., i can 100% confirm that you could cancel auctions with the client clock, i did so to clear up space. although i have not done any item/gold stealing/duping, dozens of people confirm they have.
if everyone who says they have are all trolls out to slander blizzard and this whole duping thing was a farce ill apologize and eat my words. but canceling and stealing money from auctions DID happen, i canceled auctions my self once.
