I started playing with a two friends last night in hardcore seasonal. I thought if we die, our characters would be transferred into normal seasonal pool(My friend died so this doesn't look like the case) This was the first time we played hardcore so it was fun but now i am left alone as my two friends are level 1 again
The game is much more fun to play when leveling up though. What would be a good difficulty for hardcore? My friend died at Urzael on master difficulty around level 50(i know we suck, lol). He insisted on increasing the difficulty because we were destroying mobs in one hit so we didn't have to use our all skills

Generally the consensus is hard for 1-70 leveling. Then just run bounties or rifts until you get some decent gear which is ilvl 70. Then you skip master all together and head on into torments starting from Torment I and go higher as your gear progresses.

What's the fastest way to lvl 1-70 now? for softcore season

Ask someone for a boost? should take 30-45 minutes. If you insist on solo start on hard, do bounties till lv 20+, switch to story to kill leoric for his guaranteed crown drop, insert the highest possible ruby in it you have, and go back to bounties/rifts until you hit level 70. Do not take the crown off until 70, just upgrade the ruby inside it.
Btw I'm starting to burn out. I do 10-15 TX rifts a day and just as many Grifts 50/55/60 and the amount of ancient drops is just piss poor. And even when 1 does drop its shoulders of light or a deathseer's cowl. Completely fucking useless. 0 upgrades for the past 3 days.
On thorn-sader i don't have a single ancient item on me. The LoN bombardment set I'm trying to assemble, has only an acient final witness and a mediocre rolled illuionary pair of boots, you'd think in 3 days and 500 paragon overall I'd find an upgrade to SOMETHING, but nope.

Just jumped in a public Greater Rift game and did a 68.
What a time to be alive

Ok I just maxed out CDR in PL. Does area damage do anything for a thornsader? I'm going to guess no. But gold find seems useless and so is resource cost reduction because I dont have any spenders. utility category seems wasted now. I guess gold find would be better for empowered rifts????
also is endless walk set that good? everyone seems to be using it in online builds, but it seems like there is a setup period between defense/attack modes.
also, for legendary gems i am using stricken, the + thorn one, and trapped. would it be worth swapping one out for gogok for + attack speed and CDR? Not sure which one would result in better DPS. +attack speed would help with the 2 set bonus in thorns build. more attacks in 2 seconds means more damage
no one seems to be using gogok in builds listed online

the swap between attack/defense its gradually but its pretty fast tho

stricken for high gr; use the +elite dmg one for t10, lower gr. gogok is no good, the cdr bonus is basically useless because it only applies if you have it up when you click the skill, which will be hard to coordinate. if you are having to hit something a lot of times making the ias useful then stricken would probably be better.

I haven't pushed much past 65, but 65 also isn't uncomfortable or impossible either. I think it's still too low to worry much about extreme density and rounding things up. I've had no timer issues just teleporting around looking for elites and any packs that are already grouped up. Spending time kiting things and creating density for yourself has only slowed me down so far. This obviously turns over at higher GR when you need to group things up and hope for density and good mob types, but I don't think it's as relevant below GR70ish. Focus on DPS and keeping your cycle going instead. So you don't feel any problem with the follower stealing density for you? Do you run ess of johan as well on the follower? I do. Again I'm not a high GR pro but I haven't felt like it really messes with me that much. I can see it being weird at really high GR but even when you're kiting and building density you're moving around enough that your follower doesn't always root in a bad place and distract half your mobs. I can imagine there are other good alternatives though.

Hi guys, I apologize for the incoming super noob questions that follow.
How do seasonal characters work? If I start a seasonal character game, am I able to switch it back to story mode with that character? Does equipment get lost in those transitions or can I stash it?
Another question is regarding the intro video for the new season. They seem to show a new area to discover. Is that area a NR or a GR or a simple new area in adventure mode? Moreover, in the vídeo they show a kickass DH set....what exactly do I need to do to get it? I assume that for a complete noob in the game like myself getting that set is next to impossible if not actually impossible. But assuming that I had the time, skill and knowledge to play a lot, at least it would be cool to know how to get it
I appreciate your help thanks in advance!

hold on can you explain why + area damage is good? does that apply for thorns?
cause if so oops
also, is it possible to roll +damage off a weaopn? i got this leg dagger with great +stats, but i want to remove the +damage from it and replace with socket (since damage on weapon doesnt matter for thornsader), but i rolled 40 times and every time it just rolls to damage with a different element

Non-Season. Non-Season Hardcore, Season and Season Hardcore. Characters, storage, town upgrades ect all of them are tracked separately.
You can both the campaign and adventure mode in season. You cant move from one of the 4 to another but you can freely switch between story(campaign) and adventure(bounty)
When the season ends your Season and Season Hardcore characters are turned into Non-Season and Non-Season Hardcore characters.
If you turn a non-Season character into a Season character all their gear is mailed to your non-season account.
Set items drop like any other item. just a small% chance. You can also gamble them from Kadala (again, small chance) This Season you get a 'free' set once. There is a set of quests in Season (get to 70. kill boss X on difficulty Y ect). called the Season Journey. 3 of these give you the set. you will see them as you play.

you can roll it off but it takes a lot of tries.

Ok, thank you very much. I'll try to start a seasonal DH then and see if I can go about the season journey.

I am using the gabriels vambraces power on my crusader through kanais cube but the 100 % refund doesnt seem to work (I seemed to get refunds when I just used the item with the power).
Or maybe I misunderstand how it works and it only calculates if it gets refunded when the effect of a hammer expires (and it hit <4 enemies). Edit: yep when I put in the explosive rune it works just fine ^^

When you get higher in the Grift levels, the Thorns damage isn't fast or reliable enough to kill things, so most of your damage is actually coming from the Punish+6piece bonus, which is entirely single target.
Basically it really helps your Grifting speed if you kill as much as possible while only clicking on Elites and Champions.

Ah thanks that makes sense! Shoot, so I hit pl 200+ last night and maxed out LOH. I'll change to area damage. I've been doing it all wrong! Supposedly LOH would synergiize well w the attack speed of thorn sader but I'm still glass cannon at torment 10 due to missing some damage reduction pieces of the build. Still really fun build. Really enjoy the diversity they've introduced. A build that doesn't rely on stacking crit
