How applicable is that to lower levels? When playing with my friends, I always feel kind of pressured to be going to the sidelanes and relieve pressure. Its one thing when the other team doesn't have a jungler, but when they do, it seems like lower level players just can't get used to it and start having random deaths. So I guess the question I have would be how relevant is the idea of forcing a fight at dragon based on performance of mid and bottom. Amumu isn't the best of junglers so I won't really have a level advantage or anything.
Going back to Amumu now that Udyr is not free, I feel a lot more reliant on my team's performance for much longer. Not being able to BEAR STANCE people down sucks

Heimer's still good. I wonder how long before people figure that out.

I tried jungling as Cho (probably bad idea as I'm only lvl 20) but I had no idea what starting item(s) to buy as I've never played a jungler. I went with cloth armor + 5 hp pots since I see it on other junglers. Obviously that's for a Madred's Razors on most heroes (which I didn't build) but it seemed decent enough to start out with anyway. I turned my cloth armor into a HoG a little later since I didn't know what else to get.
It turned out OK since normal/solo queue is a joke, was able to get lvl 4 double buffs and gank a lane for a double kill probably pretty slow compared to a lvl 30 with full runes/masteries but it was fun.

Heimer's just really awkward to play is all. Now you can no longer win by being mediocre with Heimer; you need to be legitimately good with him.

Guess i'll just wing it. Recommended items cant be that bad.
I've had good success this past week with a hybrid teemo build.
Doran Shield + Pot -> Boots 1 -> Guinsoo's -> Boots 2 -> Hextech Gunblade -> Nashor's Tooth
if the game goes late, your remaining 2 slots can be used for a lichbane and mallet.
By the time you get your nashor's tooth you will have over 200 AD and 200 AP, a slow, some nice ias and CDR.

Well, I won despite being mediocre with him :< So there's a practice game bug where if someone queue-dodges during champion select, it'll go back to the waiting screen but after a minute and a half, it puts everyone in the queue with a random champion and 10 seconds before the game.

Concider everything you do at summoner level 20 as practice. HoG is a good starting item for building a jungler into a tank. two of them even. Cho's jungling speed gets drastically worse as the game goes on though if you build straight tank. So once you get level 8-9 and have most of your feast stacks you should probably go to the lane.
If you're going to be AP cho then start building AP after your cloth armor or HoG. Your creep clearing skills will be baller with rupture, scream, and blue buff. Actually, I think AP jungle cho would be better with fort pot + 5 HP, then go right into kage's pick, merc treads, and NLR. Then you can build out items from there. going for deathfire for extra burst, void staff or abyssal scepter to build your AP, and then zhonyas when you get enough to make the passive worth it.
Don't let people moan about how good cho is in a lane when you go jungling, if there's no other jungler on your team it works out better with a better 1v2 player (nasus, galio are my favs). At summoner level 20 it really isn't that big a deal if a champ is "right" for something.
But! if there's another person willing to jungle by all means, let them jungle. Cho is good in a lane and can 1v2 like a boss. You could keep smite at that point if it's too late to change. It will help feed your passive.

yup yup loci would be one of the good players. and ya i don't consider him true TL since he has like 10 posts and is never in liquidparty and iirc doesnt really play with TL people that much. i could be wrong though.

I normally lane as Cho so I know how that goes. I just tried it in this case because as you said we had no junglers.

So with the new heimer ive been getting level 2 turrets them maxing rockets asap (with one level of grenade at 4).
Is this the norm for all you peeps far better then me?
I get the 2 turrets to help me farm and because the ult is basically useless without them, and they still provide a decent escape mechanism.
|
yea, 2 levels in turret quickly, grenade when you need it, max rockets. I dunno about level 4 grenade... kinda depends on your matchup and stuff.
|
In general with Heim if I don't need the turrets against the person I'm laning against I just flat out dont use them. My goal is always to get Missle to 5 asap because that punishes the person when they come harrass me. In my last heim game I went w - q - w - q - w - r and after that focused w --> e --> q. Turrets still do great damage but having an extra nuke other than missles seemed really helpful so I just used turrets as a slowing mechanism for my team till I got more points into it later.

Is there any tricks to controlling twitch properly when he ults? I swear sometimes twitch just walks WAAY too close to shoot despite his ulti giving him ungodly range.
|
The target range is much smaller than the missile range.

turrets are the reason heim is so good, theres never a reason not to have the max number of turrets in your lane early game. they allow you go to back without losing minion xp, help contribute to last hits and make sure you can pressure their turret slowly. they prevent ganks, they do most of your damage in any sort of longer fight.
