are you sure? xin poops on kog maw. i was playing ashe and playing vs a xin with ghost is like impossible, i'd imagine it be just as hard with kog maw. he has insane range but xin can go around and flank | ||

If game lasts that long, don't forget Atma's as a finisher because it will give a ton of damage out of nowhere. Some people build their brutalizer into a Ghostblade. I don't. In fact, I don't even get brutalizer if I'm rolling because an early sunfire is so much better. If the bastards run alot of magic damage, get Force of Nature as your first big item. It synergizes pretty well with Garen and I would build it more often if it wasn't that fucking expensive. However, if you're rolling with a good early game, a sunfire first is still better. 450 HP is as good a defense vs magic as the magic resist FoN gives you. Avoid pure AD items because to get 40 damage per second with Judgement you need 60 AD. That's slightly above 2k gold. A sunfire will net you the same 40 dps (that works outside of judgement too!) coupled with a bajillion HP and armor for 2,5k. That's the reason I don't really like APen items on Garen - you're not investing into AD anyway, so in later game that is essentially a waste. But on the other hand, APen items save for Starks mysteriously sport CDR which you do, in fact, need. | ||

I just finished a game with him and with just madred's bloodrazor as my only damage item I was just chunking everyone's hp. 10%/hit with a 1.0 attack speed is pretty brutal. | ||

Maybe I'll do the amumu thing and build a HoG or two to help fund sunfires (though garen certainly isn't poor). It's something people don't realise "why you building HoG against AP" "because effective HP is what matters, and though the armor doesn't help, the HP does, and it's one of the best items in the game". | ||
