Edit: To expound on my general feelings regarding certain heroes, I prefer the game to focus on offense. To an extent I believe Riot wants the same - they don't want 50 minute turtle-fests. Two heroes in particular do or used to promote defensive play - Janna and now Heimer. Somehow Janna has been hurt enough as a whole that while she's still one of the strongest defenders in the game, I don't think she's viable enough "overall" to dominate games anymore. That's why when you see Janna nowadays you don't have the *groan* it's Janna reaction, it's just blah Janna, good thing she's not Soraka. Heimer needs to be toned down because he's a "sit back and wait" hero that does it far too well. I liked the old Heimer - his turrets hurt, but he could be crushed down really fast, requiring massive babysitting. Now, though, the turrets are really strong, and the new Zhonya gives him incredible survivability, along with other things. On the flip side, I think Soraka's staying power is too strong, which is why Soraka lanes are almost invincible. As I've mentioned before, they need to nerf Infuse's mana return, because without it her heals are actually one of the weaker ones in the game. Taric's problem is a bit more complex, as he'll be overpowered in some games and underpowered in some - this is directly related to the way he regens mana (by hitting things). Against lanes with a lack of sustained harassment damage, Taric becomes an infinite well of healing, which coupled with the fact that his heal got buffed, is pretty nasty. On the other hand against a lane with enough damage to push him off creeps, he's REALLY REALLY WEAK. I'm not sure what the middle ground is, here. | ||

so I'm like, aight, time for fortify/revive veigar. no one dodges with 10 secs left, so I'm like... fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine, pick Nunu, and we go into a game with Panth, Nunu, Kennen, KogMaw, and I can't remember our 4th... At loading I see L0CUST and CFang on the other team and I'm just like, <_< >_> fml then our panth doesn't even take mid, instead letting kogmaw get worked over by CFang's Heimer. and yadda yadda yadda <moar QQ here>, it just sucks because you can't even punish mistakes vs. Zilean + Olaf + Heimer + Singed + Morgana with our team because we had literally no way to push into even just Singed + Zil if we somehow managed to kill CFang. *sigh* such a sucky game... Exstichi and I even managed to hit level 6 before the solo Morgana on the 1v2 lane. Completely zoned that bitch out. Unfortunately though, L0CUST's Olaf was getting fed elsewhere so when endgame hit, we couldn't do anything against him  . Sucks relying on Slows + Stuns and running into a fed Olaf... | ||

Maybe it's time to start a smurf account? or maybe it's just free kat week shutting me down at mid every freakin game. I also played a game against Zilean and Kayle so the other team essentially had two more people on their side in teamfights. Eventually ended by suiciding into their team with defile on as Karthus and then popping Zhonya's to buy time and then ulting when I died for my nearby teammates to clean up and kill the nexus.. I'm also starting to really suck with Ez even though the various nerfs didn't do all THAT much to AD Ez. /coolstory | ||

Edit: Honestly, I play against people with 100-400 wins on my smurf a lot, and I'm sitting pretty at level 14, and aside from a 2-3 minute delay on getting up-to-speed (usually negligible at that level of play) the lack of runes really is not a big deal. The only time you really see it is when I'm solo mid vs someone and I lose by 20 hp or get taken down with someone just barely via ignite (happens), and that's when I go damn I wish I had runes and/or masteries. | ||
