Edit: Because you don't have to share gold with anyone (in 2v2 you have two people trying to grab from the same pot), you don't have to be afraid of lame lane combos (ie. double stuns), and you level the fastest because you're not sharing exp.
Edit2: It's also huge for team morale if you can start scoring kills on their mid. There're lanes at sides that you just have to concede (ie. against Soraka Kass) but if your mid is kicking butt you have more motivation to keep playing hard, but if you're conceding a lane and your mid dies 3 times it's pretty much gg, both in reality and in spirit. well if thers a lane being pushed, the mid solo should really come and keep u guys in check. same with a jungler pre level 6.

I don't understand, I've never played a single game of DotA or HoN or anything like this. But even with this only being my third game, I understand when to run and how to be a pussy and not die vs just standing there and being killed in a 2v1 before minions spawn
Since it's a free game, the quality of play at the lowest levels is horrendously bad. The "stand there and let myself die over and over" kind of players drop off considerably between levels 5-10 assuming you're winning some of your games.
If you're playing mid, you have a responsibility to not die and to get someone to cover the lane if you need to buy early. If you're not there, the other team is gaining xp 50% faster (if no one's jungling). If you don't know what you're doing, it's definitely better to let someone else take any solo lanes.

Oh man, Veigar's kind of difficult to play when your team loses you the game during the first 10 minutes ._.

Just curious, and thanks for the tips.
While new I feel I hold my own fairly well when laning and pushing back or keeping even at least. Its just a bit hard to get in kills once 6 with Tristana if I can't get positioning just right

I blame it on the nature of free games. They attract ppl who put no effort in (ie cause they didnt spend anything so dont care). And u get an influx of casuals that prob nvr buy games or new to them.
That and mostly kids who may already spend their pocket money on wow sub..

Actually you can kill someone over 700HP with tristana's burst, assuming you level explosive shots to 2 and rocket jump to 3, and take ignite.

I know well how to do it, its a matter of usually they do also, so the positioning is still an issue. If I want to jump past them and ult them towards my tower they move back if I move up denying it. Or needing to knock into a wall etc. Its quite doable, but not nearly as simple as ults that simply zap and are done with. I managed it last game but still, they usually keep at a range I can't jump to ult them somewhere convenient.
Also, waiting on ignite as a summoner spell still :x

Then when they do come close enough, you can do the combo. Simple, easy.

The guy just ran into them and kept suiciding over and over and over, telling our team positions on the map, where panth was going to ulti and so on. If I hadn't played the game of my life and if the pantheon hadn't been amazing, I don't know what we could have done. O_o Reported and hoping he gets banned, how can this shit happen at lvl 30?

finally got a win
man that feels good
btw Trynd + Zil + Kayle makes for a really gimmicky team comp, glad we outtanked them with Shen/Garen/Alistair

Wow, how the heck did you win that Pantheon being able to one-shot every player in their team along with a Janna who can support, Kat who knew when to ulti and me one-shotting Annie and doing some imba tricks(like lol Tryndamere chasing with ulti, I time my ulti to hit him right after it wears off since I know trynd so well~). But yeah after they finish uploading I have 3 more screenshots demonstrating this guy's intelligence >_>
EDIT: Like here he tells them when Panth was ulti-ing to kill their bottom inhibitor, and above it where the chat doesnt show anymore he told them that we were planning on focusing Annie first

Wow, how the heck did you win that Drag the game out so long that death takes forever. Also he was probably underleveld for most of his deaths which only give like 50 gold and 0 XP. Only annie had mejais, but veigar can deal with her EZPK. That, and they dont really have a tank, and 4 DPS, surprised no one else got thornmail other than Panth. Having all your towers except middle, works too :D

But we would have totally lost if the pantheon hadn't been so awesome... you can only do so much 4v6

I wish I got Panth's like that. I only get "HUURRRRRR, TOWER DIVE FULL HP MORDEKAISER AT LEVEL 1"
VV

Yeah normally I get those too, this one was really smart and we would be able to turn some ganks and such completely around with well-coordinated stunning and other stuff, it was pretty cool =P And it felt awesome to win a game like that with that kind of a record after losing like 3 times in a row because I like to get these kassadin solo mids who go 0-4 in 10 minutes.

open boots + 3 health pots malady zerker greaves madred's razors phage madred's bloodrazors wit's end or SotD frozen mallet
obviously Wit's End is only useful vs. teams with at least 4 mana users, and there's plenty of room to shuffle the end of the build order up as you see fit, but I like Malady + razors to snipe dragon whenever I have 10-15 seconds alone in the area and to quickly get Lizard buff which is what makes you a real killing machine.
and no guys, I'm not kidding, this is roughly how I've been building TF recently and it's effective despite being full of items we all think are shitty like zerker greaves, malady, and wit's end.
Skills go W,E,E,W,E,R,E,W,E,W,W,R,W,Q,Q,Q,R,Q,Q, spam the shit out of PaC when fighting, with mana regen runes and meditation and picking blues sometimes and the fact that it's the only spell you actually cast, you really should be able to use it pretty much whenever you want. I could see some room for refinement in Seals and Glyphs to compensate for the fact that you don't cast much, but frankly I've been pretty content to just spam like crazy, sometimes even mashing W with no regard for what comes up during teamfights just to get damage out there.
I dunno, the whole thing feels scrubby and I admittedly don't play TF much anymore, but it still feels surprisingly effective every time I run it and don't get FBed by Maknoon :p.
Mathematically, the best way to increase DPS is to balance your AS and damage, since for every point of AS, damage becomes more effective, and for every point of damage, AS becomes more effective. If a character has a +damage effect (like TF), then it's a good idea to get an AS item, but after that you should get a damage item, not stack up on more AS. Likewise, when a character has a +AS effect, you should get a damage item first to maximize DPS. One of the best examples of this is Twitch--he get tons of +AS from his abilities, so he shouldn't be getting items that increase his AS until he has a few high class damage items.
People tend to undervalue AD when they have a character with high AS, thinking that on-hit effects proc much more often when a character has high AS. While this is true, +damage items also deal their damage much more often when a character has high AS. Think of Bloodthirster's has having an on-hit effect of dealing +100 physical damage or Sword of the Divine as adding +25 damage to your hits instead of having an on-hit effect. Would you still get the item or not get the item if this was the case?
Not necessarily saying your TF build suffers from this syndrome, just want to make people more aware of this.
