 .Uhh, any halp for a total newbie to the Civ series :3? to be specific: In what order I should research stuff In what order do I build stuff Best country for a newbie? (have the complete cradle of civilization dlc pack and the normal game.) Other tips :D | ||

I've heard some people saying it's decent but how is it compared to Civ IV? I played it for hundreds of hours with friends over Hamachi a couple years ago, but never bothered to pick Civ V up. | ||

It has major potential to be better, but in its current state, it's not even close to Civ 4. Gods and Kings may fix this, and from what we're seeing it's definitely a step in the right direction but we can't know until release. But yeah, in its current state it's nowhere near Civ 4. However, all of us that played Civ 4 at release know it was horrible as well  We were all saying the same things, except comparing it to Civ 3. Going Tradition, not leading with Scout/Monument, and no early Library is basically the opposite of everything you should be doing. Though, at easier difficulties, anything with a plan works. Rome and Persia are pretty good starter civs if you like expanding; you'll have good defense against any AI that wars with you, and you can pretty much focus on spamming cities and taking attacks of opportunity.
