You still want at least 6 iron so you can benefit from the free promotions for as long as possible.
I agree though, the Swordsmen line is generally useless in this expansion until Musketmen. Therefore iron is only important if you're going for frigates. Another issue is that you have to research iron working before you can see iron on the map. Civs with a UU Swordsman are quite dependant on iron. If they spend their time researching iron working only to find out that there is no iron anywhere nearby then they're severely hamstrung. Imo iron should be revealed with bronze working so you can find out whether its feasible to research Iron Working at all.
That is a fairly good point... although we can argue the same for almost every other strategic resource.

The AI is still hopeless in multiplayer and there is no turn-based game mode so far. The next expansion might fix this.
Thx for the reply! I actually meant things like players dropping constantly, saves not working, etc. Stuff like that plagued multiplayer at least until a year ago (last time I tried it).
I just found out that playing this game with everything random set up is quite fun (king difficulty). I choose shuffle map and everything else including my Civ is random. Do you guys ever do this?

I played a lot of MP with some friends (and bad AI) in Jan/Feb this year. Saves always worked. Sometimes there was a resync issue (everyone was basically in the loading screen again and had to wait for it to reload). Also, rarely, someone crashed, maybe once in 4hours or something like that. So with friends on voice it was quite enjoyable.

You get everything in BNW, including the updates in G&K such as the upgraded Espionage/Diplomacy/Tech Tree/Gameplay Mechanics/etc. The only thing you don't get are the G&K specific Civilisations.

This is correct... but Ethipia *IS* the most broken civ in G&K, so you might be missing some incredibly OP stuff.

Spirit of Adwa and Steles all dayyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Although I think once BNW comes out I will just play Assyria all day. That civ is utterly broken.
I wish they would add something like that cs value when you are longer time allied with them, and when you are closer to them (like make it lose less influence / term). Especially when cs now become more important, it would be kinda gay if cs search for investors, and someone just 1000k your long term ally. While this is fair, it shouldn't be made too easy, and thus credit long term & closer allies a bit more.
While I am really looking forward to this expo I also realize that it won't run at all on my laptop :D ah fml.
