I vote yes, and I bet it's basically a homecourt issue.

Clevland, Orlando, Atlanta are probably better than every team in the West except the Lakers... but from 4-8, many of the Western teams are better. although this has been the best Eastern conference we've seen in a decade. Yeah, I just can't say sweep (near sweep) for any of the match ups.

I vote yes, and I bet it's basically a homecourt issue. Are you talking about the nuggets? Because the lakers didn't dismantle the nuggets. The nuggets just failed at inbouding the ball in 2 of the games and gave them up, 99 times out of 100 that series at that point in time would have went to 7 and who knows what would have happened there. Although now Chris anderson is injured =( maybe some other big man will step up though while him and kmart get some rest. edit: they pretty much only have nene, petro, and ... random PF/C ? do they still have baulkman?

Pretty sure Lakers drew the Jazz first round last year, though it could have been 2008. Nuggets are like the 5th seed and falling, I don't know where #2 came from.

I think Utah will narrowly knock off Dallas in the semis) What the hell is easy about any of the Western teams except San Antonio and Portland? edit: That is a really bold comment when you have Derek Fisher as a starter. So many WC point guards are good, too.

But anyways, the Lakers will beat Denver and Utah.

I wrote the Spurs off a little after all star break and chances are they still won't get very far, under the assumption that players don't magically transform into much better players in the middle of the season, at least not for a sustained period. Especially over 30 year old players. Tony Parker's definitely not going to come back in all star form, Duncan's 50/50 to degenerate during the playoffs, and Jefferson's going to remain one of those "if he can get it together we'll be good" players. But Manu, I have no idea whether you're going to be the gimpy player of the 2008 playoffs, the decent role player of the first 2/3 of the year, or the top 10 player he's been for the last few weeks. There's a lot of great basketball stories these last few weeks.
