Despite the match making scandal, he still was my favorite "player". Thank you very much for the nice write up. This is exactly it. I don't think new people realize how much Zerg rested on one player at that time, and then again during Jaedong's reign.

Here's the Bacchus 2008 opening, worth watching to laugh at Bisu's baywatch jog, but also features Savior looking like he just turned on invincibility hacks at 0:35: (Also poor Flash didn't even get really shown up close in it, he's just doing flips in the background. I guess nobody really thought he'd win it) Edit: And seeing the twins here makes me sad, too.

Two different things at the same time, not to mention the proleague finals, and the winners league finals, as well as being the ace player. 1 think at the same time. Not so hard once you look at flash. Flash and Savior are entirely different players in different times/circumstances. No one doubts Flash is incredibly great, but this article is about Savior - there's no need to compare. Incredible write up. Savior came around after my bw playing really went down, but I watched his whole dominating streak and remember a lot of the games thinking "Only savior could've come out of that situation alive AND ahead". It was like watching Art of War tactics perfectly displayed and being a nerd really into that kind of stuff; they were some of the greatest displays I've seen to this day. SaviOr fan for life.

After all, the complex mindgames outlined rely on being able to dictate the development of the game through the movement of your own army in the center of the map - if your opponent drops one of your bases, then you may no longer have the units needed to keep your opponent reacting to you, especially if your defense hinges on the threat of counters with the absolute minimum of units needed to back it up. This interpretation would certainly fit with the effectiveness of Bisu-style tactics versus Savior. I wasn't really following BW when Savior was in his prime, so I can't really say whether Savior tried to learn and employ Shine-style aggression when faced with harrassment-oriented styles or kept stubbornly sticking to control-the-center styles while his bases got torn up behind him - a response from a more informed BW observer would help give some more insight.
