Not only did he win multiple championships, but he dominated his opposition in a way that had never been seen for the Zerg race. His play captivated the hearts of countless fans, and even the staunchest critics were forced to admit that he was one of the greatest of all time.
His career began on a sharp decline in March 2007, after a loss to Kim Taek Yong (Bisu) in the MSL Final. Though he would retain the loyalty and support of many fans - and occasionally show them flashes of his past brilliance - he would never challenge for a title again.
Awesome read, it's a shame really the best BW games that I have ever watched are of Savior's ZvT. It's always fun to wonder what would be different without that stuff that he got involved in...
Ah Ma Bonjwa, the reason BW was so appealing to me when I saw some of his VODs. Despite all the crap he's done, his influence on the game will never be forgotten. Amazing writeup and beautiful presentation. Newcomers to BW should really watch some of the finest zerg dominance to truly appreciate this.
"Because Savior reached six Starleague finals in a row"
you mean like 3 consecutive dual finals? If not, then this is a bunch of crap. If yes, then he still far worse than flash cause he never won dual finals.

It is so amazing yet so heartbreaking to read this, still working my way through it all. Savior would absolutely "destroy everyone" in SC2 if he ever got the chance, but it can never happen.

He made it to the msl finals 5 times in a row
3 consecutive dual finals is far harder. Two different things at the same time, not to mention the proleague finals, and the winners league finals, as well as being the ace player.
1 think at the same time. Not so hard once you look at flash.

what the hell does this have to do with "far harder"? no one is trying to deny flash having a hard road to finals, and this isnt even about flash.

What does this article have to do with flash? =/
the author said "he played solely versus the absolute toughest competition possible." but the finals is where you face "the absolute toughest competition possible." not when you get eliminated before the finals.
Beautiful article. Just beautiful. Having been around for so long I always try to point out to people that there's more to SC history than TBLS (and unfortunately most of them don't believe me!) and that player's like Savior, NaDa, Boxer, Oov... not only those guys but also Yellow, Reach, Ra, Xellos, etc., walked on water in the same kind of way as TBLS+Fanta, Effort, etc.
Savior is THE player to have modernized Starcraft. I'm glad an article was able to capture it so well.

Yeah, playing against Movie is the toughest competition possible...
