That's why the three pillars of Sc2 (mvp nestea Mc) all stunk at pro bw right?

BW A-teamer losing to a WC3 pro... who would've thought that possible after reading this article!

Really enjoying SPL with sc2, can't wait for the real be pros to get more time together as a team strategizing. The level of play is going to get really good really fast! The elephant will take over soon

Because TL is not so fascist a community that it bans reasonable comments, supported by evidence, that add quality to the discussion simply because it implies imperfection in a beloved game.

The "different game" argument applies to 99.9% of progamers, but not for special players like Jaedong and Flash. The game doesn't matter. Whether it's BW or SC2 or checkers or minesweeper, certain players are so good they will always be at the top.

Though these "special players" should have time to prove themselves if this is true, current evidence suggests like this might apply to 100% of progamers and claims to the contrary are based more on hero worship than reality. However, I look forward to being proven wrong.

@Calm. No the comment is not very well supported by evidence. It's a one off statement with some ridiculously huge assumptions. But I'm not going to moderate based on that.

It's stale copy-paste material

Nice argument by the way, you really are making the case for the crying broodwar babies.

I'm sorry that pros currently splitting their time between two games, a situation that is troubling to their mental states, have not, after less than a month of inferior practice arrangements, caught up to pros whove developed over 2 years. That really says anything about the quality of BW, especially considering their inferior practice and poor mental states have had a dramatic impact on their skill in BW as well. That makes a lot of sense and I totally respect you as a human being.

I don't disagree, the evidence is so far flimsy at best (being based on low number statistics) and doesn't even contradict the original post:
I am saying that there are 300 current pros and semi-pros that have the potential to come in and dominate SC2 at any moment, with a latency of a few months from the day they switch.

However, it is a legitimate conclusion that can be drawn from what we have seen so far and patently ridiculous that anyone should be banned for that interpretation. In a few months, we shall see whether Schrodinger's elephant is alive or dead. I myself am quite looking forward to the consolidation of the Starcraft community around SC2, and hopefully the rise of even higher quality games from an influx of quality players.

He was very impressive. In particular his matches against Soulkey (who is said to be GM in korea).

It's the rate of improvement that's the scary thing. He was showing pretty mediocre games in proleague only a month ago, and now he's showing Code A/B quality games. I doubt he'll be allowed to with Proleague not finishing till late September, but I'd love to see him try and qualify for GSL season 4.

I think he will be one of the top 20 players in the world by the end of the year.

Him immediately all inning Stork upon seeing a second Zealot seemed like a very planned response and showed a very thorough understanding of timings. And I remember thinking during Marine Kings last few games that Flash did indeed have better unit control, I thought that I may have felt that way because I was tired and his opponents were "bad" though to be fair, MKPs mistakes were not typical and I know he was up really, late too. He scurried under my arm pit to get a better view of Jaedong playing so I know he was also up late watching the Kespa tournament.

In case you aren't aware, Flash's keyboard broke during the first game with Stork, and he was playing with mouse only. Just another factor in choosing to all in that game :p

Is it awkward now that StarCraft II has developed further and this article is only slightly relevant because of the skill disparity between the BW and WoL players?

Not at all because on one hand you have Kespa players who practice BW and SC2(2 months in) and non Kespa players who have been playing SC2 for 2 years.
