t-ara's continued futile flirtations with the American market, (and in extension, boa/se7en/snsd/wg), is really a reflection of Korea's societal obsession with American (Western) pop culture whilst simultaneously displaying their blanket xenophobia/subtle racism in some sort of weird fit of cultural schizophrenia.
as in, we love western shit but can't assimilate completely because we have some sort of racial superiority complex so we keep trying to do kpop in America.
they seriously need to either completely adopt Western images and musicality or stop making halfass attempts to transplant kpop into a Western market.

Bruce Lee worship; some anime; mysticism regards to martial arts. Such as origin of Wu-tang clan name; etc etc.
Personally, I know that there's a lot of black fangirls in France. I couldn't tell the ratio but what I can tell is that it's way higher than the whole population's ratio. Kpop flash mob in Paris + Show Spoiler +
The dude in front counts for 10.
See? Another clue, if you hang out in the Kpop reaction videos side of Youtube, there's a good amount of black people there. More generaly, where I live, I'd say it's pretty comon to say that black people are into asian people. Almost as comon as to say asian people are into other asians only ^^.
The T-ara N4 thing is still way too strange though. I just hope that they are not throwing away their image, and that audience will be forgiving.

That I don't doubt; N4 too wonky; but definitely got the hotness level to draw in some crowds. But like I said it's a small subculture undertone in the black community; I'd say it's akin to Islam in the black community in size, but somewhat noticeable.
Also not the first time black people been getting involved with Kpop. Snoop dog with SNSD; Will.i.am with 2ne1, and a few others.
Also; forgot to add the Greatest combo of all time. Rush Hour; Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Also basketball too. Yao and McGrady, and now Lin and Harden.

Think it's pretty obvious that there's been a big push among media circles to push Asians and Blacks together. Most Asian / Other relationships I've seen on TV of late have been Asian/Black. I don't think that's a coincidence. Neither is having Snoop Dog with Girl's Generation or this. I don't know what the point of it is but that's what they're pushing right now.

Not that I disagree with you but the reason Snoop was on SNSD's album was because he got paid money by SM, Snoop will do a feature for anyone at the right price these days.

lol no. They go there with the hopes of making money. Same reason most opt to go to japan.

I haven't listened to many other collaborations done between Korean and American artists(other than the Snoop/SNSD thing which I'd like to forget ever happened). Were there any collaborations that turned out good?
I just don't want to see T-ara N4 go so far out of their way to get some attention that they completely embarrass themselves in the process(I don't really know why, maybe I care too much lol). I feel like it might be inevitable based on how their label has been handling it.

Don't worry, if there's something to be fucked up, you can expect KKS to do it.
No but I don't know if they have to do with collaborations or the number of kpop songs I actually find good nowadays+small sample size. Snoop and Will.I.Am were both trainwrecks but that's only 2 songs, and I don't like either artist anyway (at least the music they're making now). Find the right features and it wouldn't necessarily have to be terrrible.
Although I think that they're going about it the wrong way, rather than getting famous rappers why not get famous hip hop producers? Kpop is very western influenced anyway and I'm sure a lot of today's talented hip-hop producers could come up with dope instrumentals for a kpop hip-hop themed concept.

^^the EDM influence has already happened. See: dubstep drop dance breaks
While I don't think the track will be good I will say that at least T-ara got off their asses and are actually going to release something in english unlike half the groups that announce that they're doing something (WG, 2ne1)
