Honestly I just want her back, even if she's scarred and dealing with ptsd. She was my favourite character so having her essentially removed from the story made me not really care anymore. A broken casca who slowly rebuilds herself is something I can definitely get behind.
I mean her character itself dont do much but she is a major plot device moving the story, I think the current set of events is going to be alot more of an accelerate "unbreaking" than people are thinking.
Wouldn't say she haven't done much, pre-Eclipse she more or less "healed" Guts both physical and psychological. I can't wait to see how her relationship with Schierke and in particular Farnese develops they both have traveled in her innermost trauma and feelings and Farnese have basically acted as her mother up until now.
I wonder if there's any relationship with her heart to the The Idea of Evil from the Lost Chapter considering how similar they looked before Farnese picked it up. If she's now fueled by it.... RIP in pieces in peace anyone who stands against her.
So, I started watching Beelzebub and up to episode 46 or so. It's been a great watch so far. Comedy has been good, even at times, it's repetitive and there was more to it than I thought possible from the synopsis alone. Highly recommended so far and I'm guessing that the anime doesn't cover the whole source either.
Whelp startes Berserk yesterday. About 65 chapters in. This type of series really isn't my thing but I just find myself drawn to keep reading. I think its the characters, the rest of it like the art, action, plot, etc don't seem that amazing (serviceable I would call them) but the characters draw you in pretty well.

Yes I am aware of what is coming since its hard to not know some of Berserk if you frequent spots where anime is discussed. Tho with the character archetype used for Griffith it was just a matter of time.
berserk becomes quite different after the griffith incident. You saying that berserk's art doesn't seem amazing is quite preposterous considering it is quite possibly the best drawn manga in existence. I don't really remember if it was the case in the earlier chapters exactly, but as a whole it definitely is. So at the very least you have that to look forward to.

Yea I wasn't clear there but what I meant was the action sequences. They seem overly cluttered, with excessive amounts of gore flying around all the time and movement imo isn't portrayed as well. Also sometimes from panel to panel characters make movements that don't seem possible from the position they were in the previous one. Like they will slash or thrust their weapon at an angle impossible from their position.
I would agree the art is highly detailed and of a higher technical skill.
As for the story, its gotten better but the characters within the story (namely Guts and Casca) are the main selling point for me. I know there are other significant characters to come (Just past where Farense is introduced) so looking forward the most to see the characters.
Btw the series has been going on for a long time does it have an actual release schedule? Seems like it updates erratically.
rewatched No Game no Life Zero mostly because there was one part I didn't quite understand when I watched it half a year ago so I figured english subs would help, but no, still didn't understand it~ + Show Spoiler +
Why does he have to contaminate himself with the ash when he meets the elf? Is that something like "oh a human on his last day, he's about to die so I can probably listen to what he has to say" or was there some reason behind why he had to do that?
I watched it from 1am to 3am though, so chances are I was quite sleepy and just missed out on it again
But man was it a good movie. Or rather, I can quite confidently say it's nothing special when you compare it to other movies but I enjoyed it a lot, to keep in line with the recent discussion on how to properly use the term "something is good". The animation isn't all that much better than the series and doesn't stand out at all when compared to other movies. In the first place, NGNL never was carried visually by it's animation. Not that it was bad or anything but NGNL stands out (visually speaking) due to it's colorful characters, the background and all that. not the animation. That wouldn't change drastically either way and in particular with the movie being darker overall it's just not that much of an eye-catch as the series was. But maybe it's just that I don't care about animation for NGNL specifically for the mentioned reasons and as such didn't pay enough attention, idk The story is as cliché as it gets with it being a fairly straight forward drama with some comedy in there. I would say this stands out if you are a NGNL fan simply because you won't be getting anything else like this from the series (I'd assume). But if you don't like NGNL in the first place the story is probably just some mediocre drama. The first half of it is really lackluster in particular and felt like it was too long for me with the 2nd half of it picking up the slack. But that means a lot of people will probably drop it before even getting to the meat of things even if they do try to watch it. The characters were really hit or miss for me. Jibril is obviously Jibril and as such awesome. Riku is okayish, Schuvi is straight up amazing. Dola is really whatever and the elf just straight up doesn't matter. //edit I will say that getting to see more of the other races was generally nice. Be it dragons, more Flügel or whatever else// The music was probably the only thing that made you feel "woah, this is actually a movie version!" except for the runtime and while the music was quite epic indeed it did feel kind of out of place at times simply because the rest just wasn't up to par imo.
But nontheless I had a great time rewatching it. Quite a difference in experience to seeing it in a cinema, as you'd expect but I still enjoyed it a lot despite all the things I mentioned above. If you're a NGNL fan I'd still highly recommend watching it if just for the novelty of it. As well as Jibril rapefaces and Kayanon carrying the fuck out of it.
