Just not a tragic one. If, a) Casca gets a happy ending. b) Casca and Guts lose their brand so they're not doomed for eternal suffering in the vortex of souls. c) Gritith die the most horrible way. I'm happy. All three might be pushing it, I can settle with B+C or A+C. ![]()

Has anyone watch B: The Beginning? Not sure if I want to waste 20 minutes on it yet. Gintamais out tomorrow and I can't wait. The manga doesn't seem to want to end and Gorilla just threw a twist in that makes it look like it'll continue. Not sure if the anime will continue with this new plot twist though.

First episode of B: The Beginning wasn't bad. Reminded me of Psycho Pass.

B: The Beginning is pretty good. The animation is solid. It's a Netflix anime, so you can go there for more options on language. I'm definitely digging what I've seen so far.

Had to check Ani-chart for new releases earlier today and surprised a lot of good shows are supposed to drop this month. Bungou Stray Dogs movie (squeal)!!! B: The Beginning is pretty good. Solid action/animation, good soundtrack, brilliant background art, characters are not annoying (phew) and the mystery is astoundingly compelling so far. Also lol, I think I haven't read the short form of my nickname since I last played D2 actively in 2008 or so.

It was super intense and engrossing the whole way through. Once you get passed the pseudo edgelord MC, it gets really good (and he's not even the MC).. The fights, once they get serious, are top notch. Even the backstory of the main characters are well thought out and presented nicely. The last 2 episodes are where it's at though. You'll definitely like this one. I highly suggest it. 4.6/5 (marked down for some lapse in animation)

Solid action/animation, good soundtrack, brilliant background art, characters are not annoying (phew) and the mystery is astoundingly compelling so far. Your positive impression of the series made me take a look at it as well. 3 episodes in it feels like a combination of Zankyou no Terror, Tokyo Ghoul and a bit of Death Note... combining all the edge and other negative traits into a single show. The first episode was fairly decent and not too obnoxious but by the second and especially third, all the build-up goodwill has evaporated. The characters are becoming more and more cliche and edgy, just for the sake of it. It screams "look at how mature we are" by throwing as much gore as possible at the viewer when everything else about the show is everything but mature. A significant amount of scenes are just pure absurdity and stupid beyond belief. Just some highlights from episode 2 and 3 alone: Giving the terrorist a platform to speak to the entire audience without anyone thinking about shutting him up from the very start. Kaela "hacking" by using foot pedals and like 4 keyboards at the same time. The girl riding down the wall of the house in a skateboard (because why the fuck not?) before flying off to wherever on said skateboard while saying amazing things like - and I am not making this up, this is an actual quote: "One of the voices Always angelic - it is about me, - Sharply expresses itself: Those thousand questions Spreading their roots Bring in the end, Only drunkenness and madness; - Understand this trick. So gay, so easy: It is only wave, only flower, And that is your family! And then a voice - How angelic it is! - It is about me, Sharply expresses itself: And sings at this moment Like a sister to breath: With a German tone, But ardent and full: The world is vicious; If that surprises you!" And all of this during a supposedly tense action/fight scene with some cringy music underneath it. So far the only positive things are art and animation... except for the character designs, those are some of the worst I have ever seen. Makes something like Tokyo Ghoul look refined and balanced in comparison. Keith is just your cliche "eccentric super detective" the likes we have seen countless times before. The boy is Kaneki 2.0 and almost all of the rest of the cast is utterly forgettable. Am I missing something here? Does the show turn around or is it going to be more of the same? Because after episode 3, I don't know if I have the energy to continue with it if it's just more of the same for the rest of the series.
