Well, on the plus side for me, even if TE is disappointing, it won't change that Alternative itself is great lol. But I'm still looking forward to MuvLuv: Top Gun.
Also, TE anime will probably mean more Kotobuyuki Plamos and some cheaper Muv-Luv figures! And if recent anime trends have taught me anything, hot girls+anything+hype=sells well, which might get the main trilogy animated.

After I have watched first 2 berserk movies can I finish the story line by watching anime from the point is was cut? (assuming anime is same as movie except longer?).

MLTE starts with an episode of backstory for Takamura. Good introduction for people who aren't familiar with the franchise (details the history of Japan 96-97). Given that the story for TE takes place across the ocean 4? years later though it might give people the wrong impression. We'll see :>
Bitch with Nagisa's voice from Clannad is pretty funky though. I don't remember her sounding like that in the radio show, maybe she's deliberately using the Nagisa voice for younger Yui.
Dunno what to think of JinSui. I'm always wary of light novels, and I had issues with how he wrote in Rewrite. But...

This is probably a stupid question that's been brought up before, but has TL ever considered an anime subforum? Normally I'd say that something like that isn't the point of TL, but with the changes to being able to customize your sidebar more, and with the addition of subforums that I'd consider of about equal interest to TLers (Health and Fitness, UEFA Euro 2012, etc.) I thought it might be something admins would consider. This thread is 2200 pages now and it's really a pain in the ass to read or gain any information from (the search tool only helps so much).

I think dividing the anime fanbase on TL over a few different threads would be a bad idea, right now I think we have a good amount of people posting in this thread, about a great number of topics I admit. If everyone was divided though I think threads would barely get responses.

I don't think individual anime would get enough activity by themselves to warrant their own existence. Combined its fine, but alone, it would be alot of shit.

re: subforum, its pointless. the thread moves 2-3 pages a day at best, sometimes barely a page. You just need to up your search powers. Otherwise just ask again.

Considering the number of users that actually post here, not enough content would actually be created to warrent its own subforum. This thread is three years old so when you think about it, it's not that big. There'd also need to be an admin/mod in charge but resources could probably be better used elsewhere.
Since we have subscribed threads, it's much easier to pick up from where you last read. And you can always search for particular posts, or just ask in the thread.
On topic: I finally managed to get to watching Amagami SS+. I must say, Junichi is an idiot lol.

I like the main character, I like all the colour in the animation, I got happy when she got her hair back and I did NOT expect the ending. I laughed like a maniac at it. I'll be watching more of this.

Mixed reviews on muv-luv. Sounds like the 1st episode was more buildup than a hooker. We will see ^^.

It boils down to what you expect. MLTE isn't very action-oriented, as the majority of it is talking heads revolving around national pride (of countries that have been destroyed or on the verge as well as those that are still alive, some out of just luck of the draw). There isn't any heavy combat until supposedly the very end of the series, which surprised me because I assumed it would have no action at all over the whole series.
The backstory is 'good' in the sense that it explains the world to you and the sense of loss and desperation felt by Yui entering the main series (which was 2001 I think, or roughly four years later). I don't think you can appreciate how hopeless the setting of the world is by just words. We'll see if it works out, but that's probably why they did it.

We'll see indeed. Still waiting for subs here... and to be honest if I didn't follow the 3 episode rule I would have stopped watching some really good anime before they even began - Madoka being a good example. Well, I don't remember if I was considering dropping it back then but I wasn't hooked until ep 3.

It's not a big deal, honestly. It's a premise, not a major plot point. There's a reason why like 1/3 or so of the world is basically gone, 1/3 is being fought over circa 2002, and the other 1/3 is basically only currently safe because the majority of BETA happened to land on the Eurasian continent.
I just felt like knowing the "point" of the episode might make you receive it better and give it a more fair chance.

i'll watch muv luv having no prior knowledge while you guys fight and argue every episode from a VN stand point. I'll sit and enjoy the anime stricly as an anime.

Well, it's not the first anime I've watched that has + Show Spoiler +"everyone dies" in the first (or in this case, second?) episode. Ga Rei Zero had that, for example.
Anyway, I'm gonna get my paws on the Muv-Luv VN:s now. If I remember correctly there won't be any issues with watching TE at the same time as I play through it, but I do have one question: Fate/stay night had more dead ends than what's common, right? Just curious of whether this too is a minefield of dead ends (with a tiger dojo at the end of them?  ). Might have to add as a note that Fate/Stay night is the only VN I have ever played before.
