Just watched the two OVA episodes of Denpa Teki Na Kanojo. Damn, I love stuff like this. Such a shame it's just these two episodes and that's it. No third episode, no anime series. Makes me sad, I want more of yummy crazy people... I know, right?! It's so so good and I actually hate that I cannot get more of it. Apparently there is even a book which revolves around Yukihime too, really want to read that cos she seemed interesting + Show Spoiler +even though we didn't get to see much of her in action in the second episode.
Edit: Looks like time to pick up the stuff that (pre)airs today for summer season.

Seeing the thread caption makes me wonder how people were trolling others with School Days.
I just watched Samurai X with my girlfriend(third time or so for me ; first for her. I told her that she would have all the tears after the episode where (not sure if its a standard for spoilers but)
+ Show Spoiler +Kenshin kills Tomoe and then we find out the meaning of Kenshin's name
Turns out I was right and she nearly balled (she cried heavily and had to get tissue paper. Much saddness was had.

This resulted in some people hilariously getting trolled. However, after the millionth time, got old/not funny anymore, and eventually that caption got added.

I haven't seen it yet, despite being recommended. Should I watch it?

If you want firsthand exposure to a minor source of anime meme culture, sure. If you want a good show, you can do better.

I want to watch another show of that quality, it doesn't necessarily have to be similar plot wise to Avatar but I'm looking for a show of that quality and with an overarching plot.
I realize it is not anime but it is similar. Do you know about legend of korra? edit: Also what tabbris said, FMA: B is even better than A:TLA in many aspects.
Legend of Korra is not good. I spent my time laughing at it while booting up Fate/Zero.

Its a train wreck.. if you want a good experience or to get something out of it... avoid it at all costs. I remember seeing the end of it and asking myself "WTF did I just see????!?"
Just like.. wow. Higurashi no Naku koro ni Kai was shocking, graphic at times and disturbing... but I don't know.. not that baseless.

If there is one thing that can be said about School Days, is that its ending was the only "logical" ending in any anime of that genre.

It might not be to the experienced anime watcher, but from epicopter's post I take it A:TLA is the only show he's seen, or at least one of the few. And since LoK is the closest thing to TLA, might aswell try it out.

I enjoyed TLA but Korra suffers from pacing issues and the story is weak too.

I really enjoyed it, non troll/ironically/w\e but seriously for that reason.
School Days totally underrated as a real anime yo~

+ Show Spoiler [ Sakamichi no Apollon 12] +Two words: Time Warp. I would've liked this series much, much more if it was 24 episodes and not 12. The pacing is pretty break-neck in some parts of the anime. The ending wrapped up fairly nicely, and I didn't particularly hate it, but I lack a feeling of attachment to the show as a whole. Consdering how they just cut it short with no room for a continuation (since obviously it is a manga currently still being serialized) they sure included a lot of nearly pointless events relative to how much they could fit in 12 episodes.
The emotional impact from the ending wasn't what I should have felt at all. Jun-nii and Yuriaka helped round out Sentaro a bit i suppose, but then his dad coming back seemed rather anti-climactic, considering he ended up leaving anyways. This isn't the adapations fault, but instead the source material's, that some of the dramatic plot points were pretty cliche--"hey he forgot something, boom, accident!" "dense romance misunderstanding!" "flamboyant beatle's fan boy rival(not)!" I needed more time to grow attached, but they didn't give me it, but oh well at least the music was pretty good, despite the fact I don't even know shit about jazz.
I always had a stupid grin on my face when they did their jam sessions, my favorite being the festival one. 7/10.

Which is why they go "OMFG WHAT IS THIS" and that is why it is such a good troll rec. I thought it was suprisingly good, especially since the ending was quite realisitc instead of making some sorts of cop-out.

School Days:
+ Show Spoiler +Stopped watching School Days half way in it because I knew it was going to hell and the MC just pissed me off so much... maybe it's worth it to see it to the end considering that I get to see him die, mwahahaha.
Campione! 1st episode
+ Show Spoiler +Nothing we haven't seen before, I guess this can be mildly entertaining, but... meh, won't drop it yet. Oh and at the end of the episode I couldn't help but think of the MC as a wannabe Gilgamesh with that scene, hah.
