So guys I just checked out the Little busters anime trailer. The animation looks great, though there is not much movement. Either way, was the trailer done by Key or JC Staff? Also I can't find a release date for the anime ;( is there one out? Thanks in advance!

I mean, normally you would group season 1 and season 2 together, even if there is a timeskip, right? Sunrise was just being cute splitting it in half. Split seasons, to me at least, imply that its meant to be judged as one whole (as in, they are seasons of the same show, just split airing time), rather than being a stand-alone show with a sequel. For example, take Horizon or Fate/Zero. Both of them are getting split seasons, but I think its perfectly acceptable to judge them together as one work. If you are simply talking about season 1, then yeah it was solid, although the cliffhanger end combined with R2 is a huge disappointment. On another note, earlier this week one of my friends linked me to a screenshot of VN that recently got translated, Hoshizora no Memoria. Screenshot included two girls whose design I really liked, so I downloaded it and started reading... Thoughts so far summed up in a picture: ![]() Has anyone read this yet? How long must I suffer through this fucking imouto till the other girls show up!??? from what i've been linked by other people thats all the game is about. ![]()

That is, I felt the direction and mix of horror and such in the first ~10 episodes was good. But then around episode 15, I realized that something was wrong -- the series felt different. In the arc following, the one for + Show Spoiler + 7th, i felt it lost its dark feel; the horror present in the beginning action and fast-pace like in the 10th arc, but the horror was still missing Deus more, who I felt was an interesting character (or plot device or whatever) in the show, and then Muru Muru. The episode with Akise Aru had that scary kind of horror feeling back to it, with all the friends dying and what happened to Akise Aru. The music really helped make that episode/scene much more dramatic, especially with the ending view of akise and yuki with the debris in front of akise crumbling, though i wonder if that was cut off because of censorship or it was intentional for suspense. At the finale with, I guess you could say, Yuno's arc, it had that horror feeling as well, with me expecting Yuno to go after Yuki at any second, especially since it felt wrong knowing that Yuno was hiding something but was acting all lovey dovey to yuki. But then it started going into the time traveling thing, which was a bit interesting I guess. But the rest of it, again, felt different than the rest of the show. I know the pacing in the anime was a bit off compared to the manga, stuffing a lot of 10th's chapters into a short time in the anime while making the time traveling part longer, so maybe that was part of it. I liked the action (though it had several random LOL WTF is this fanmade clips) though. The ending was weird and I thought it would have been better if they just animated the entire manga ending -- I really don't think having a glass shattering sound and the reflection of light on yuki's cellphone gives a good enough idea to non-manga-readers of what exactly happened. Maybe they will animate something with that in their "Next Project!" ? My lasting thoughts: Basically, it felt a bit like Higurashi with the horror, but it didn't have as much of it, making it "easier" to watch. But as Yuki and Yuno developed as characters, and + Show Spoiler + Yuki continued to grow closer to Yuno, I guess it was harder to keep that "horror" feeling since Yuki was no longer afraid of Yuno. Yuki became more of a monster himself though -- I think it would have been possible to make the show more disturbing (like Yuno was at the beginning episodes) by making Yuki more monstrous. He was whiny and hated, but didn't even his evil acts like killing 8th's orphans happened in daylight, giving it a very... not-dark feel to it. I think this would have been more effective in showing Yuki's development into an evil killer like Yuno than simply having him be whiny and get the viewers to grow impatient of his reluctance to man up. Like I said earlier, the episode with Akise was pretty good. As I watched it, I hated Yuki a lot, but not cus he was whiny, but because he was changing, betraying his friends and becoming a monster, and the episode had a strong horror feeling to it, with each friend dying one by one in a fashion that you could predict but hoped would not happen. However this really was only one episode. Overall I enjoyed the series, though the events began to get crazier/stupider with so many things that didn't make sense (or at least weren't thoroughly explained -- had to go read discussion threads to find out why something made sense or was realistic or what was missing from the manga. However I felt it was a bunch of wasted potential. The ending of the manga (anime?) is happy but it's a bit weak. It's like the manga author got tired of his story so just gave a simple, happy, deus ex machina ending to the readers to avoid being criticized trying to make some genius ending. The animation was quite bad, but passable... usually. The bad parts were funny to laugh at in slow motion, at least. The music was pretty good. But my lasting, and strongest, impression of the series is that it was a bunch of wasted potential ![]() I think I'd give it a 7 or so for "good", with the episodes I liked being 9 for "amazing" and the bad parts being 5 for "mediocre", as in barely entertaining. I'd really like to rate it more but this might even be a bit generous.

I haven't watched FMA Brotherhood though it has really high ratings, because I felt it might only be rated high because many who liked the manga watched the anime and voted highly and/or people who watched the original FMA came over and gave biased votes, etc. But if you love both DN and CG and you love FMA B too, then I guess it's time for me to check it out :D (Well I saw the first episode but it wasn't that spectacular). Oh god I hope rewrite gets animated soon. A key (jun maeda) work that has fantasy/action and stuff? Having known kanon, air, and clannad, I sorta expected all of jun maeda's harems to be in mostly realistic settings xD. Anyways if Kyo Ani animates rewrite (better not be another company like Jun did with angel beats lol), I hope it's really good. It'll have the awesome romance/drama/comedy stuff as clannad but also be appealing to a wider audience cus of its fantasy/action themes :D. + Show Spoiler + This music video is so awesome. The song is epic. I'm glad the art in this is much better than in the game. The characters all look messed up in the game xD. Can't wait for Hyouka episode 2 tomorrow. I hope it doesn't disappoint. (Expecting either it to become really good, like high/top tier anime, or just stay entertaining, but nothing more, as it is in episode 1) Rewrite really isnt that popular. What they should really do is make an anime of kud wafter >:DDD Wafuuu~~!

So after consulting the reccomendation image I watched Darker Than Black, started off thinking it was awful but it got pretty good towards the end. I've finished the first series and I notice there seems to be a season 1.5 and 2. Is it worth watching either of these? I kind of feel like I've experienced the arc of the story and don't really know where it can go that's any good. Just Hei being chased for 23 episodes doesn't seem very exciting. Should I bother with it or just move on to something else?

That's like the exact opposite of anything you'd ever like. It's like if you read Da Capo.

Well I guess I shouldnt say pretty good since they leave on a cliff hangar into a terrible S2 but overall i though 1.5 was not to bad. Sure it ended off making no sense but I am pretty sure by now you wouldnt expect darker thana black to end with an ending that make much sense. Anyways, I just recently finished Another after putting it on hold and I remember (I think it was Ecael?) someone saying that some where in the story it suddenly diverage from the light novel. So is the ending still the same as the light novel? Considering that...+ Show Spoiler + In the beginning the bird and the grandfather gave pretty big clues as Reiko being the dead person. Does it also hold true for the light novel that Reiko is also the dead person?
