Nobody has even mentioned Zoro within the last several pages except in relation to Usopp being the strongest in East Blue lie. Quote the person you're talking about if it's out the blue.
There was a discussion way back in this thread where someone speculated Zoro cut his own eye to handicap himself since the poster also speculated that Mihawk lost his strongest swordsman title because of an eye injury. Find the original post before disagreeing because the poster had more reasoning. I didn't agree with it then or with their follow up responses.
Oh it was rei who said it. nvm then
Well, too throw in my two cents again(I posted it earlier). I think Zoro lost his eye in a battle with Mihawk in which Zoro won and became the top swordsman in the world. Meaning he is just going along with Luffy out of dedication(Which fits with his character.), Adding to my theory is his overall lack of effort needed in straight up destroying some decent opponents and a lack of "I can't lose here, have to fight Mihawk again" Attitude in general. The biggest reason I think Oda would do something like this is, No matter how epic he tries to make that fight it will never live up to reader's expectations/hype. Have it happen off screen and do a flashback to it I think is the overall best option. Also added bonus points for the insane/god tier level foreshadowing of having Zoro show up first after the time skip and Luffy showing up last as if signifying the first and last Straw hat to accomplish their goal.
It is a bit of a crackpot theory, I would not in the least be surprised if I was wrong but I think it's good food for thought and makes for a better discussion in this thread then the ethics of honour at the very least....
You know at first I was like no way Zoro surpassed Mihawk already. But I like the idea of him showing up first being symbolic for him realizing his dream first.
the second person to join the crew, the third person to voice his dream, Luffys right hand man, the pure PINNACLE of manliness, the 2nd main character (not counting a rival)
and you think his dream was accomplished off panel with no mention?
do you think this is bleach?
1st question:yes 2nd question: dont ask retorical questions, ur not cool.

S.A.D will be gone. He can't handle Kaiodu without support from one of yonkous so he will join alliance with BB.
and Kyros dies here giving Rebecca a reason to join SH pirates and hunt down mingo.

I like your theory.
Joining SH because of a grudge seems not very one piece-like. Brooke's joining didnt also though, because of the lack of a dream (at least, i cant remember it).
I still think momonosuke is a good candidate, as he wants to be the shogun of wano in the future. Not saying there are no others, but he springs to mind following the dream logic.

It's not out of SH way to harm someone as long as it's reasonable. Zoro aims to become the strongest swordsman. Of course to do that he needs to defeat the current strongest swordsman which could lead to that guy's death.
It will be just like Robin where it took time before she accepted she was part of SH crew. The difference is robin is lonely and rebecca isn't. And maybe later arcs we can see that rebecca forgetting her revenge due to friendship and stuff. You know shounen magic.

I wouldn't say Zoro's dream was a grudge though, that's a bit different than just wanting to become able to beat anyone (and eventually prove that, regardless of who it is). Apart from that i agree. Rebecca is certainly a candidate, i can see a robin-like scenario.
Zoro could have very well beaten Mihawk off panel, only to find that there are stronger swordsmen out there. If that was the case his dream would be far from fulfilled.
I'd be shocked if zoro beat mihawk off panel. That's too big of an event to happen off panel. I still think mihawk retains his title as strongest swordsman in the world and will believe so until I see him beat with my own two eyes.
About Bird Cage maybe DD has his own army of artificial fruit users and he plans to unveil them? I'm guessing all artificial fruits are supposed to be sent to Kaido so it would be a betrayal of trust if DD was keeping any amount of them. DD was planning to use the zoan army for something else, but he is pushed to being used them now.
It could tie into the whole Momonosuke issue. Maybe his fruit is special or maybe there is something wrong with all artificial fruit? Momonosuke has visions of DD and is traumatized by him. If it's some sort of brainwashing then not only Momonosuke would be affected, but also all of Kaido's zoan soldiers. Momonosuke did suddenly use an ability he didn't know he had when he hallucinated DD with Momonosuke focusing on the phrase "hold on" said by Luffy. Did Luffy command Momonosuke? That would mean DD was planning to overthrow Kaido or at least had a plan if Kaido ever wanted to kill him.

Of course it looks like Law knows what birdcage means, do you then think that Law's plan was to drive DD into using birdcage against Kaido as his plan to take down an emperor? Did law see momonosuke transform? If he did and he knew about birdcage (assuming it's what you theorize) it seems odd that he didn't say anything.
Law made the alliance proposal with the stated goal to be to take down Kaido with DD as his first step, but it seems like Law's real goal was to use the Strawhats to take down DD since Law has personal grudge against DD. Law would have had plenty of opportunities to see or hear about Momonosuke's transformations with the Sanji feast post Punk Hazard and their ship travel, but I think Law knew about birdcage before Momonosuke judging by how he reacted.
Mihawk: World's best swordmaster Now this doesn't disprove that Zoro beat Mihawk like some are suggesting. But I think it just makes it even more reasonable to think that Mihawk is still #1. (Did anyone say that Mihawk lost an eye? Or am I out to lunch? The photo shows that he has two eyes. Sorry if this is random...) Also note how the Marines think that Doflamingo has "evil charisma". The wiki says that "ten yasha" means "heavenly demon".

Thats a nice catch about the "Bird Kingdom." I wonder how much birds come into the mix. He does wear that jacket made out feathers sometimes.
