I recall the blacksmith saying he was strong for his age, and frankly the helmet he made speaks to his skill as a smith. So it seems a little odd for him to be suddenly sent to the wall once Robert died. Did Ned make arrangements with the blacksmith before his demise to send Gendry to the wall? Or maybe another member of the high council who knew Gendry was one of Roberts bastards? Or am I just thinking about it too hard If I remember correctly the blacksmith does this to protect Gendry while not telling he his in danger therefore acting like he got sick of him.

Pretty sure it was Varys who sent him off to protect him. While not mentioned in the tv series, the blacksmith was payed to keep Gendry there, and generally doesn't give a fuck.
im gonna go ahead and nitpick and say that both of these guys are breaking the terms for this thread by discussing what is contained within the books
not that i particularly care about what they "spoiled" here, or however you want to put it
i just despise people not following these rules

I don't hate Daenerys, but I can see where they are coming from.. I cant explain it, but shes never been my favourite character.
Right now In the show I really like Tyrion (ofc, who doesn't?) and Jon Snow :D

Pretty sure I heard one of the characters say in a previous episode that the sea has frozen during extremely long winters. It's still summer. You may recall Catelyn last episode saying that Renly's knights were the knights of summer. Remember the Stark words: "Winter is coming."
The Maesters at Oldtown sent the white raven which signifies a change of season, which is now currently at fall. While this is likely just a figure of speech by Catelyn she would not have known that the seasons have changed due to the long travel.

Yeah it's still summer or fall, however the first post was talking about how the wall would be useless if the oceans were to freeze during a hypothetical really cold, really long winter. I have no idea if the winters are long or cold enough for the entire ocean to freeze, but there should definitely be ice along the coasts if this winter is as badass as everyone makes it seem. Might just be a logical fallacy in the story?
Edit: sorry for the double post, didn't even realize I was still posting in the same thread zzz

Tyrion is not running around King's Landing acting like a boss and doing what ever the hell he wants for the fun of it, he is following his father's orders which were to bring Joffrey and Cersei to heel. He's trying to make the prospect of House Lannister being the ruling family of Westeros a reality rather than piss it away by leaving people to starve to death and aggravating every noble house by chopping heads off for luls. In order to accomplish this goal, he has to weed out every corrupt individual in a position of power who would disobey his command.
Remember, Robb Stark's army approaches from the north, Renly from the south with the combined might of house Tyrell, and King's Landing is sitting vulnerable right in the middle. Tyrion is under a lot of pressure.

All right sorry if it spoiled something I wasn't even sure if it was from the books or the movie anyway and thought it was in the first episode.
I doubt it will be talked about again in the movie though.
Also, I don't remember reading anything about Renly being a gay, this is a change for the tv series right? or did I fail to notice.
It's suggested in the book and confirmed by Martin, it's not a change but since the serie is not bound to "point of views" they can do all these additional scenes to convey the same messages. Talking about that is ok by the rules right ? (since every plot element Ive said is available to TV viewers)

My guess is that the white walkers are probably pretty stupid and don't look for a way around. Something along the lines of: "Oh hey I guess I'll go south and kill everyone" "Oh a giant wall is in my path. Guess I'm not going south"

This TV show is very well done. The production value, the costumes, the cinematography, the acting, the writing, etc is just so top knotch. Definitely the best show on TV right now, and perhaps isn't getting the true credit it deserves because it is based on the books. And so even though it lacks on the "creativity" department for that, the execution has been so good.

heh seems like the prerequisite for any young actress looking to land a part on game of thrones is to show tittays.

It's because it's clearly the game of tet tets.
