Maybe i chose the wrong words in my first post. She being a bit more extreme/borderline insane would have appealed to me more, considering the stuff she went through. Maybe it's the actress or how the directors made her act, whatever, i can't take her serious. The parts of her storyline were the less awesome parts of the show to me, but taste differs.

Robb: "Now and always" Ya, there are a lot of moments where that brotherhood can be seen, that's why he was torn between the two options. Part of him wants to believe he is a brother to the starks, but at the same time I think he is not as certain as he'd like to be in the matter. Its kind of a shitty spot to be in. When things are going well, he's treated as a brother; but when things are going bad he can be disregarded as a ward.

I think her being less crazy actually demonstrates how strong she actually is. Which links into how well she has survived various ordeals in the past and to come. Although I really enjoyed the first and later parts of her story in series one I agree that some of her stuff was less interesting. Tbh though I'm sure it will get better.

For some reason, I thought his story about how he kills someone by burying an axe into his skull was foreshadowing how he will die (like when Jaime told Jory about how he almost lost his eye in battle). He went out in a much more badass manner than I imagined. Despite not being a knight, he's more knightly than the vast majority of the knights in all of Westeros. He put his life at risk for some bastard commoner that really meant nothing to him. "I'm not fond of crossbows" -Yoren, always with a mouse full of piss. That's what I love about the nights watch and the kings guard. There such a dichotomy between taking the black and taking the white. The nights watch is a life sentence for the low born, while the kings guard is the highest honor for a knight. But the nights watch are the guys fighting the good fight and get no glory while the kings guard are cruel and corrupt, yet get praised and pampered.

Tyrion is indeed a very cool cat. :D It's a shame he's a frigging Lannister though. And I'm really starting to hate Greyjoy.

Yeah, the nature of knighthood seems to be a common theme in ASOIAF. So far in the TV series, we have The Hound, who refuses to take up knighthood. Yet, he helped Sansa during her encounter with Ser Illyn Payne, he stood up against his knighted brother to protect Loras Tyrell and was embarassed at being declared champion, and gave Sansa words of kindness in S1E10. Despite being Joffrey's dog, he's more knightly than most knights, especially his brother and the Kingsguard. I hope we see more Sandor in episode 4.

Anyway, noone in my class have read all the books as far as I know so we only follow the TV show without knowing whats gonna happen later in the story. The more popular storylines were Jon Snow's and the whole thing with the Night's Watch and the White Walkers, Arya's story and Tyrion of course. The one we were least found of as of right now was Daenerys Targaryen because that part felt kinda slow as of now but will for sure play a big role soon/later on. Me personally have become curious and interested in Bran. With all his dreams and the old stories plus his bonds to his/Starks wolfs it feels like he will become some sicko shape shifter or something or some kind of overmind that can control them. Or maybe thats just what they want me to believe. What about you guys?

The thing that makes GoT so freaking good for me is how exciting and well written all the characters and their storylines are so it was kinda tough personally to pick one. Did Ned make arrangements with the blacksmith before his demise to send Gendry to the wall? Or maybe another member of the high council who knew Gendry was one of Roberts bastards? Or am I just thinking about it too hard ![]()

When Ned visited Gendry the blacksmith he worked under seemed quite satisfied with him as an apprentice, but then Gendry claims his master got sick of him and sent him off to the wall. I recall the blacksmith saying he was strong for his age, and frankly the helmet he made speaks to his skill as a smith. So it seems a little odd for him to be suddenly sent to the wall once Robert died. Did Ned make arrangements with the blacksmith before his demise to send Gendry to the wall? Or maybe another member of the high council who knew Gendry was one of Roberts bastards? Or am I just thinking about it too hard ![]() You are not thinking too hard, pretty sure that did not happen randomly. Someone wanted to get Gendry out of harms way. Either it was Ned or Varys or maybe the smith had learned who he was, and wanted to save him. I guess it was mentioned in books or TV series, but I dont remember either.
