I might have unreasonable standards but i was quite disappointed with westworld overall tbh :D Still good but also writing issues here and there imo. On the plus side they hade anthony hopkins who obviously was excellent and was the main reason imo why the show was still good. GameOfThrones World when?
I loved it. Tryad of quality television in the last years for me: Game Of Thrones S 1-3, True Detective S 1 and Westworld S1.

I'm going to make these bumper stickers (with the font fixed) but I'm not happy with how the raven looks. If anyone can make the raven face toward the viewer and give it three eyes, that would be great.

You want stuff like that?

Something identifiable at bumper sticker range. Simplistic but with 3 eyes.

I'm going with "he's a dumbass". He seems to think so himself.
Usually when people come up with theories on what and how in ASOIAF, they draw from various different parts of the plot. GRRM leaves small hints all over the places. Taking one scene and playing "what if".. sure, but it doesn't scan with the legend of Azor Ahai, and it doesn't explain why they are now returning. It just doesn't make much sense.

While I really like watching those, they sometimes bring out some obvious flaws:
![[image loading]](https://image.ibb.co/hHbXBv/Screen_Shot_2017_09_06_at_03_37_12.png) 4:26 - That last wight in line having the chain on his shoulder means the load on his body is ridiculous. Just imagine doing that in a tug-of-war.
![[image loading]](https://image.ibb.co/eXR7Bv/Screen_Shot_2017_09_06_at_03_44_05.png) 4:36 - What's with the people in front of the lines getting added on? There is no chain running between them...they're just there for some exercise? If there were a chain running between them, that would never work - their path is curved!
edit: I don't think I'm expecting one director to get everything right - but wouldn't just hiring 10 internet nerds when you're doing a big production help a lot?

Why would they pay you anything to point out things no one gives two shits about.
Edit: and if you volunteered, they wouldn't bother wasting their time consulting with you.

Creating a TV show is several thousands magnitudes harder than nitpicking one the internet. Most of the time when someone brings something up like that, someone looked at it and said "it will fuck up the shot" is ways we do not understand because we don't make TV shows.

Its usually worth examining things like that with, "would it look worse?"
The wights carrying the chain on the shoulder is way more dramatic, generally theres a lot of sacrifice that goes into good cinematography a lot of the time, which is why Im dog shit at it.

To 90% of show watchers what you're pointing out doesn't matter and to the remaining 10% it's just another tiny drop in the ''this doesn't make sense'' bucket.

Perhaps you missed the next shot which is the final one, all layered together which clearly shows the chain running through the line of wights...

Haha ok, you got me there! But the curved thing still stands.
I thought this was the 'bash GoT for it's flaws'-thread. But apparently, it's only for unclear timelines, not obvious physics flaws.

This is painfully accurate.

I could nit pick a TV production all day. Everyone in these sword fights stands just far enough apart where they can’t hit each other. The dragons wing span is too small for their size. Lack of hats to the north. Everyone walks from point A-B in the series with very little equipment or traveling supplies. All the dresses are amazingly form fitting, but I guess in GoT they have machine spun thread and thin needles this magical land.
But all of that would be really dumb because it’s a TV show.

Yeah well, what else have we got to discuss about the show than to nitpick? Its not like the 7th season had any substance worth talking about. So VFX flaws is the name of the game

I thought this was the 'bash GoT for it's flaws'-thread. But apparently, it's only for unclear timelines, not obvious physics flaws. It's interesting to me that people in here don't see the difference between flaws which matter and ones which are merely on the nitpick level. This happened multiple times now, your post, other posts defending the show by comparing nitpick arguments to real ones, etc. This chain scene being physically accurate wouldn't make the show any better, this is an isolated instant which doesn't really affect anything in the long run. Would it be nice to be accurate? Maybe? Other things like consistency in travel time is actually plot relevant. I saw a good post on reddit the other day where someone said that geography and travel time obviously will never be 100% perfect either, but saying it is nitpicky to point out huge flaws stands in direct conflict with one of the biggest plot points so far: The Red Wedding! Rob had to deal with the Freys because geography and travel time played a huge role back then, it was incredibly important. Now Daenerys can teleport her army over the whole continent without Jaime even knowing about it and we don't get a reasonable explanation why. That's the difference. Everything which has a direct impact on the plot development and character development can easily be criticized without being nitpicky. A good criticism about the show is that it lacks consequence now, Cersei blows up the sept and nobody seems to care. That's incredibly inconsistent. Jon gets resurrected and they pretty much do nothing with it. Etc
We can even talk about the directing and impact of scenes. I think the show has produced less emotional investment this year than any season before. I already asked the question before and got some answers, but i still think it's an interesting question: Which scenes this season had a real impact on you, scenes you could watch again and again because it was done so well (acting, cinematography, emotional impact, dialogue, whatever it is) Outside of huge spectacle with dragons i think there isn't all that much this season which says a lot about the change in style imo.
